Current mood: excited
Category: Music
Very excited to report that I'm going into the studio for the next two days to work on three songs: Wrong Time of Year, Here to You (brand new!) and Too Soon. I'll have Mike Freas, Brian Wright, and others recording LIVE in a big adirondack-style room. When I say Live, I mean LIVE. All of it. Damn. And very soon I'll have a Fun-Size EP for you!

Ladies & Gentlemen. You may have an easier time believing this than I ... Coming soon to a small screen near you, is the music video for Bad News. Directed by Paul Baker, it started out as a small project and became so much more. I laid eyes on the 1st cut two nights ago and can’t WAIT for it to be finished. You’ll see a cameo by Brendan Hines, and Mike Freas, my guitarist. And a whole lotta me. Maybe you’re ready for it. I’m working on it ......
Stay tuned! It’ll be on my website, on myspace, on YouTube and as a moving hologram on my forehead when next we meet.
Thanks for reading,
KT

Drinking beer in the afternoon. The first one was accidental. (must you know? A friend opened one thinking it was a ginger ale ... I helped her out) Then at home with a 24 oz Budweiser bought on the beach 2 months ago and a backdated issue of the New Yorker (and 3 rolls of sushi: classy). Reading an article about buying street food in Turkey, the author spoke of the transgression of eating unknown food, not of your mother's kitchen, the Sin of Solitude.
Yikes.
Pour some more.

I experienced true love on stage and it was in the form of a 22-member band called the Baltimore Afrobeat Society. Somewhere between MOP and Original Sufferhead, my hand on my heart, feet on the ground, but floating much higher and very much with the 21 friends around me, hungry to give the 400+ partyers what they were hungry for too, I could think only of the word 'love.' Once pictures appear online, I'll be sure to grab some and post them here, but in the meantime, I'm left to only frustratingly gush to those who did not attend (why?) about the single electrical current that was felt by all at the 6th floor of the H&H building in Baltimore two weeks ago for 3 + hours and left, sweaty, wanting more. More will come, but not for another year or so. Can I handle it? sigh

Good morning.
Here's a lullaby I recorded for my new godson (ahijado) in Buenos Aires. His name is Ivan, he has a twin sister and he's beautiful!
I included a translation which you can read when you click on "lyrics."
Tell me what you think.
There's a digital blip in it, disruptive enough to notice, but in time enough to move past. Odd. Must be all those 0's and 1's. Fighting for our attention.

My west coast friends, I am returning to your fold next week, just in time to celebrate my birthday.
How? How will I ever celebrate? I'm glad you asked.
Here's my plan of action, I'd love to see you that night:
Thursday, December 8th:
9pm - watch my pal Sam Sparro rock my socks off at the What Club? at Club Fais Do Do
11pm - dance the night away at Star Shoes on Hollywood Blvd to retro soul, funk & r&b
There's a cover for Sam's show, but the dance party's free.
Yessah!
