OK - heres the deal.

We have been selected to appear on Punktastic Records latest release. The Release is called Punktastic Unscene 4 - 30 Seconds to Impact. It is a UK homage to the legandary "Short Music For Short People" featuring 99 of the greatest UK bands all bashing out 30 seconds worth of tunage.

The Compilation is set to be the biggest ever UK complilation and will be widely availiable from stores like HMV and Virgin as well as being availiable through online retailers such as amazon and play. Internet Downloads will be availiable through iTunes and other such sites. Failing that you will be able to get copies directly from us at gigs or from our website.

The band has so many awesome bands on it, it is such an honour to have been included. To See the full list of bands - visit Punktastic.com/forum. Our track was specially recorded for this compliation and will only be availiable on this CD. The track is called Hypocrite and is in our player.

We are really excited. We'll let you know when it becomes availiable (which will be the end of september/beginnning of october)

we decided, well I decided, to go through our friends list and delete everyone who looks like they only added us to make up the numbers in their friends list. This includes all the lame ass bands that I have never heard of, all the promotions companies that are based the other side of the world and "hot" girls with "webcams".

I beleive that the friends we have on our profile are supposed to atleast have made the decision to add us on their own, not just using some lame bot to add everyone, were not kidding anyone, we realise were not incredibly popular and we think its better if we are honest with our friends, even if thats not very many people... having said that we still have around 500 friends which is absolutely amazing to us!

thanks for all the support!

5FD, Suddenly Last Summer, All at Stake
Grapes, 29th January. (Reviewed by Ekke)

As I look around the cramped and dark upstairs room of the Grapes pub on Trippet Lane, I can't help but feel positively at home. This is what underground gigs are all about, and as the room slowly starts to fill up, I grab myself a fresh pint and prepare to be entertained by the evening's array of acts.

To my surprise, All At Stake are all on stage within minutes of being crowd side with friends, there's no rock and roll entrance for these guys and this seems to suit them just fine. The 6-piece pop punk band kick out their first track and already look happier than a bunch of Chav's in a burberry sale. They're fresh, they're comfortable, and most importantly they have an essence about them that a lot of bands lack, they're enjoying themselves. One song down, and Rob on synth / keys is opening my eyes to fresh new sexual positions, while the crowd to band interaction is electric and vice-versa. More songs merging a vocal style surprisingly Misfits-esque merged with New Found Glory riffs and catching synth effects makes this band is definitely one to watch.

Suddenly Last Summer are next up, and waste little time jumping into their first track, which oozes overtones of an American ideology. Frontman James adds that necessary kick adding powerful vocals to an already complex but well delivered backdrop. They sound fresh, and they look it, working very well together. The two guitar players take turns in shining in the limelight, while heavily reinforced by powerful drum rythms and basslines that finish the set off nicely. The main appeal I noticed about Suddenly Last Summer was the lyrics, which seem to be not only well thought out, but perfectly fitting to the music, reminding me highly of an early Jimmy Eat World, with perhaps a sprinkle of the Suddenly Last Summer condiment that's makes their music their own.

5FD are the band everyone wants to see, and after the first track the whole place seems to bouncing around more than a Page 3 girls trampoline frat party. Frontman Dan wastes absolutely no time in involving the crowd and delivering his own unique style of thrashy guitar ska licks and seemingly perfect vocals. Bassist Jon also seems perfectly at home with his role in the band, working nicely alongside Dan but also bringing basslines home that would make any 4 string skanker proud. Lee's drums are mesmerising, but also refreshing to see someone who actually sees the drums as a playable instrument, rather than just something to hit. Perfectly timed rolls and two songs in and I'm starting to get tired just watching these guys, who are positively full of energy. Think NOFX meets an early Less Than Jake in a seedy hotel room less the horns and 5FD would be the product. Between songs the crowd are entertained in ways other than musically by the ramblings of frontman Dan and drummer Lee, who bounce off each other like a drug induced Dodgem ride. If this band doesn't go anywhere then you can imagine these two hosting some sort of MTV Ska Punk show, with bassist Jon as the weather girl. With song titles that make you spit your drink back up ("Good Lobes, Good Times, It's not rocket science" being the most memorable) it's almost depressing when they announced their last song, and wrapped the night up with a final hike up the rollercoaster that is 5FD. I can't help but feel that there's no dip on these ride though, 5FD are seemingly flying, and they might just know it.
