f you're near, go and check it out!

A GREAT night is shaping up in Horsham in memory of inspirational Horsham live music enthusiast Graham Ansell.
Ian Gulliver, who is masterminding the event, is organising a special evening called The Day Of Rockening bringing together many of the musicians Graham encouraged.

Graham, of Shepherds Way, Horsham, died two years ago at the age of 48 from cancer. He was the founding member of the Horsham District Live Music Alliance (HDLMA) and was instrumental in the creation of QM Studios, in Denne Road which is now being run by Mandy, his wife of 26
years.

Among Graham's many achievements was revamping the town's Battle of the Bands competition into its popular modern format – achievements which saw him widely regarded as the driving force behind Horsham's blossoming music scene.

The main feature of the night will be a performance from Allstarz, a collection of Horsham's finest musicians including ex-members of Bush, Ultravox, Flairz and Limehouse Lizzy playing a one-off show.

In support, Clash City Rockers will be reforming for one night only playing the best punk songs around, and Bad Boy Boogie will play their tribute set to AC/DC.

"We can also confirm that Dan Hawkins and Robin Goodridge will be making a guest appearance."

Ian added: "We are pumping up the gig. Everybody said yes. The Allstarz will be about 13-14 people involved in the music scene. We have put together a party set of songs that people will enjoy with a rock theme
ranging from soul through to The Foo Fighters."

The Day Of Rockening will be at Horsham's Capitol on Saturday September 12 at 7pm. From 5pm, the event will offer free acoustic music in the bar area, a rock legend art exhibition by artist/musician Greg Hart, a closed auction featuring exclusive and unique music memorabilia, and the Music Timeline, an exhibition of some of Horsham's legendary bands dating back nearly 30 years.

The day will also see a Day Of Rockening auction with lots including signed CDs from The Feeling, signed pictures of McFly and tickets to see ZZ Top.

More details/tickets on www.myspace/dayof rockening09 and www.dayof rockening.com. Tickets are £10 for the main event, with all monies collected going to The Graham Ansell Trust for research into asbestos-related cancer.

The Trust will pass the proceeds to two charities, Mesothelioma UK and
Barts Mesothelioma Research.

Creativity Overload Update!
Hey there all ye Stone Gods fans and friends;

Just a quick note to say we're holed up in a secret location and writing for the next record is being taken to the next level. Big riffs that stink like sleaze and groove like hell are flying out of us at a rate that doesn't look set to lessen. Anthems, anybody?

Photographic evidence of all this behavior will shortly make their way onto your screens so you can see us "at it", as it were.

Watch this space!!

Love as always,

S.G.
