Program Description:

Each month, Healthbeat Brooklyn explores a different healthcare issue and how it affects the lives of people in Brooklyn. Story ideas are suggested by an advisory committee made up of more than a dozen key figures in the borough's health care system. Under their guidance, the show looks at the impact of specific illnesses while also addressing such topics as prevention, healthy lifestyle, access to primary care and healthcare disparities across economic strata. HealthBeat Brooklyn's mission is to bring free information about these important issues to all Brooklynites, particularly underserved residents who traditionally have had limited access to health care.
