Chris Benoit died today. Apparantly he was murdered? That's horrible. I haven't watched much wrestling in the past few years, but Benoit was great at what he did. He never seemed like one of those guys who used steroids, he was able to perform with the size he had. What a loss...

Its five days of work, and two days of weekend. The proportion is too spread apart. What shall we do? There are some in favor of adding a third weekend day, but the five day work week really isn't that long.
My suggestion, add an eighth day to the week, between Saturday and Sunday, keeping the 5 day work week intact and adding an extra day to the weekend.
Call your representatives and congresspeople. We have to make this 8 day week happen!

I just noticed something that was somewhat disturbing about this year's holiday themed Target commercials. They seem pretty on the outside, with people using items that are sold there, like toys and housewares and stuff in the snow, and a song where I can't understand the words but can't get out of my head.
But at the end of the commercial is that part that's kinda disturbing: two words that don't necessarily need to be there: Merry Christmas.
Why? The commercial already makes the point that it is the gift giving season, but putting those two words there alienate so many people.
However, I don't know if its worth complaining more. But I've gone this far.
Happy Holidays / Seasons Greetings / Two months until pitchers and catcher report

I was walking home from my office party last night, and realized that I have forgotten about Rabin. It was the 11th anniversary of his death this week. I remember in the years following the assassination, it was an annual event to commemerate a sad, yet important moment in Israeli history.
Those moments in the Rose Garden can't be recreated. Rabin with Clinton and Arafat. Rabin, Clinton and King Hussein. The mid-90s were an optimistic time for peace. I can't really say that now in the mid 00's.

Beat the Mets. Beat the Mets. Anyone can defeat the Mets. So who does a New Yorker root for in this World Series? The team that defeated the Yankees, or the team that beat the Mets? Until then, here's the 2007 Yankees schedule so far: http://www.ianian.com/yankees/2007.html

I got Trey's new album, Bar 17, and while it's no masterpiece, it makes me miss Phish more. Not as much as when I saw 70VP last summer, where it seemed like he was rubbing it in our faces that Phish is gone, but it makes me hold out that they will play New Years Eve at the Garden (which, nobody has booked just yet, or at least not publicly)...

So I just saw a commecial for Mobile ESPN, the day that it was discontinued.
It's that commecial where the Seattle Seahawks' Shawn Alexander was injured. He was injured for real this week.
Such irony...

I've been telling this to Randi for years.
If they can make reduced fat Oreos, and Double Stuf Oreos, can't they make Reduced Fat Double Stuf Oreos? They'd have extra creme, but have less fat than regular Double Stuf Oreos?

If I was posting blogs a month ago, this is what I would have written. Its shocking in so many ways that its been 10 years since I boarded an El Al flight to Ben Gurion airport. I spent a year in Israel, and it was amazing.
I met so many great people that year, and after being the king of correspondance, I slowly lost touch. I miss all of you, especially those whos emails I don't have. What's the most sad is despite the fact that many of you are now in the NYC area, you're not part of my everyday life anymore.
Call me or send an email. Let's do something!

I'm going to try doing this blog thing once again. As you may or may not know, I have reservations doing a blog since it seems like a step back from the days I let my creativity rule the world on ianian.com.
But I really haven't updated it much in years. I have a new design on paper that I might put together when I got some spare time, but its the kind of thing where my creative juices legitimately need to be flowing.
