The Skagos/Wake Split "The Groan of Ancient Pines" is now out!

It is available on cassette format, for the time being, as a co-release between Eternal Warfare Records and Near Hell Records! A vinyl format may come in the future...

Well, I suppose it is time to let the future break free of it's confines and spill upon the public ear.

In the near future, Skagos will be undergoing and drastic change. There is quite a pile of reasons for this change. Skagos will not be as active as it once was, or rather, currently is. In fact, production of new material will come to a screeching halt. Isaac is going to be moving to Montreal on August 5th to further his education in the Recording Engineering field. He will also be playing in an innumerable amount of bands of all different genres. He will also be continuing a Black Metal project in Montreal, so if you are interested in meeting up with him, make sure to shoot us a message!

Myself... I have a number of plans. I've been shown a cave on Saltspring Island that I may take up residence in... you think I am joking, but I am not. So I may or may not be dropping off of the face of the earth for a while. If not, I'll be continuing residence in Courtenay while living at Linnaea Farm during the 8-month growing period of the next few years to acquaint myself with sustainable, bio-dynamic agriculture. If the latter plan were to take action, I would most likely start up a number of local performing groups in the vein of Atavistic Cascadian Black Metal. So that is where you'll find me: living in a cave, or farming the west coast.

In the meantime, Isaac and I are working on getting 3 releases recorded by August 5th. At the moment, we have everything conceptualized and half of the next full-length recorded. After he moves, I'll be saving some money to visit him in Montreal to record new material every so often.

In short, the production of Skagos material will be coming to a grinding halt- but fear not, Skagos will always exist, so long that Isaac and I, ourselves, exist.

Kamlaniye will be completely through, however, but we will be recording our one-and-only full-length in the coming weeks as well.

It has been unveiled!
The glorious triumph that is Ást, our first ever full-length!

We poured our heart and soul in to this manifestation of concept, and are definitely thrilled with the outcome. Everyone agrees that it is our most poignant and colossal release to date. Packaged in a thick cardstock O-card with photographs taken by the band themselves, the packaging on this cassette has a very suiting, organic feel. The album deals with the passage of summer unto winter, the spiraling iteration that is infinity; without death, there is no life. The writing of the album is a healthy balance of hit-record-and-go improvisation and constructed riff-writing. The writing was certainly helped along by the endless Winter we experienced here in Cascadia (Coast Salish territory, to be precise.) From the first storms of summer, to the beautiful rot of fall, to the endless, freezing fog of winter, the album covers every moment. Spring has come, and the release has met it's first light. We are cleansed.

This release has built anticipation for quite a long while,
