So we played in Austin last night... it was a fuckin blast.
Check out The Soldier Thread... they've got a very Sigur Ros feel... beautiful ambient melodies that roll into quite a jam. and guys... they've got a cute lead singer who plays the violin... that in itself is worth checking out.
Headlining that night was Sounds Under Radio. These guys are friends of ours and recently got signed to Epic Records who are sort of our mother label at Original Signal. So we'll be seeing a lot of these guys i'm sure. Check them out... they've got an incredible sound. And I think we're going to try and get them to come up here and play with us in Dallas.
We did well... we left our little Mackie that plays all our samples... so we played a raw show. And second to last song my keyboard just cut out. So we did Eternal Dawn entirely without piano. It was awkward... but i think people still enjoyed it! The falsetto part at the end... where the piano arpeggiates with the drum beat backing... yeah. no piano. it was a cappella with the drums. hah. but it was a great show. sounded great on stage... we had a great time. For our first show in Austin.. it was a success. If you were at the show.. thank you. We love playing for music lovers... and Austin is full of them. Then we hit the road at 1 AM for a 3 hour drive back home. But we're safe... and ready for the next gig. Hope to see you there.

So we changed the name. The Future Cast. that's out of the way.
We have so much in store for us over the next couple of months. We have a photo shoot next week... so get ready to see some more Glamour Shots of these beautiful mugs. We're going to be branding and marketing and styling ourselves over the next month or so.
My favorite part is sort of going on right now... we're picking out the artist we want to do our cover art... as soon as we lock down who it will be.. i will let you know. We have some great ideas for the concept of this album.. and can't wait for you to see it. Right now... the picture that you see for our album is an old New Yorker cover... that's temporary.
We're playing a crap load of shows the next month and a half. We're practicing for an actual tour coming shortly after the digital release of our debut album in February. SO... if you're somewhere in the region.. and we haven't played near you... and you know a great place for us to play... let us know... we're still booking for January.
One more thing... January 12th... we are headlining a show at our beloved Curtain Club in Deep Ellum. You do not want to miss this show. We have so many surprises and are going to play some songs from the album that you have not heard yet. It's going to be an incredible show. So mark it in your calendar right now... you do NOT want to miss it... i promise.
Don't forget to leave us comments and tell everyone about us. Thank you. Hope to see you all real soon.
