Current mood: rockin
Hey Everybody, This is my favorite time of year. Although it gets dark early we have the lights strung on houses, trees & street lamps to keep our spirits illuminated. I love the smells, the sounds & the childlike excitement many of us feel as the festivities grow closer.
I’m especially excited because The Moxy’s playing some cool shows in December and planning more for the rest of the winter. We’re playing at Angels & Kings in NYC on the 14th, which I’ve heard great things about and NYC in December can’t be beat. It’s an acoustic show which is so different from when we’re playing an all out show but it’s one of my favorite things to do. I grew up singing just me and my guitar so it’s familiar to me but so much more fun because the guys kill it on their instruments; something I didn’t know how to do growing up.
The next show is in West Chester, PA at The Note on December 17th. This show is our baby this month for a couple reasons. It’s an All Ages show, something we try to do as much as possible for our younger crowd. We don’t want you trying to sneak into bars all the time :) It’s our first time playing West Chester since the summer so we’re stoked to return for our Festivus show. Btw, does anyone get the “Festivus” reference? I’ve only heard from one person who knows. We’re playing with some friends of ours too, Cheap Seats, who played with us in August at The Note, The Goodnight Anthem, & American Living. They’re great guys and we’re stoked for you to see them live too.
Lastly, we’re really excited about this show because we’re raising donations and awareness for our local SPCA in Chester County. The SPCA in general needs our donations and attention so please check out the ones in your area and show them some love. If you’re coming to our show on the 17th make sure to bring a donated item like towels, blankets, toys, or check their list of needed items or donate money and for either we’ll give you a signed picture for free....

Dead Wrong
so
you met me twice and you know my name now you’ve labeled me and it’s a
god damn shame see i’m not the kind of girl who feels the need to prove
to you all of my good deeds so you met me twice and you know my name
now you’ve labeled me and it’s a god damn shame see i’m not the kind of
girl who feels the need to prove to you all of my good deeds
you
think that you’ve got me so figured out you think that you know what
i’m all about all about you think that you’ve got me so figured out you
think that you know what i’m all about all about
so you met me
twice and you know my name now you’ve labeled me and it’s a god damn
shame see i’m not the kind of girl who feels the need to prove to you
all of my good deeds so you met me twice and you know my name now
you’ve labeled me and it’s a god damn shame see i’m not the kind of
girl who feels the need to prove to you all of my good deeds
you
think that you’ve got me so figured out you think that you know what
i’m all about all about you think that you’ve got me so figured out you
think that you know what i’m all about all about
so you think
you know just what i’m about so you think you’ve got me so figured out
you think you’re seeing so dead on but you are seeing so dead wrong so
you think you know just what I’m about so you think you’ve got me so
figured out you think you’re seeing so dead on but you are seeing so

Won’t Back Down
here i go again i’m
standing with my face into the wind trying to bare the insults that you
bring sometimes they can leave me shakin i have always been the kinda
girl who tries to look within looking for a spark of anything evidence
that you’re not just the same as all who came before you and now i
wonder
you might not like what i’m gonna say but i will say it
anyway i will say it anyway you might not like what i’m gonna do but
maybe i’ll get through to you maybe i’ll get through through through to
you
i have always tried to say what exactly is on my mind leave
my insecurities behind i’ve had enough with that pain i could make a
choice to speak with a small and quiet voice but i’d rather make a
louder noise evidence that i’m not just the same as all who came before
me and now i’m singing
you might not like what i’m gonna say but
i will say it anyway i will say it anyway (won’t back down) you might
not like what i’m gonna do but maybe i’ll get through to you maybe i’ll
get through through through to you
maybe this time i won’t back down maybe this time i’ll stand my ground
deep
inside i’m on fire there’s a blaze ragin in me deep inside i’m on fire
there’s a blaze ragin in me deep inside i’m on fire there’s a blaze
ragin in me ragin in me oh maybe this time i won’t back down i won’t
back down no maybe this time i won’t back down i won’t back down
Save You
i’m
calling you off the ledge toes hanging over the edge if i were stronger
i’d pick you up hold on a little longer it’d be enough to save you oh
to save you
i wish i knew another way to save you but i’ve tried so many ways to save you i can only say i love you i love you
i’d
banish away the storms go back like it was before i’d remove the clouds
and turn the sky blue but baby i don’t know what else to do to save you
oh to save you
i wish i knew another way to save you but i’ve tried so many ways to save you i can only say i love you i love you
i
know you’ll come down you’ll come down from there you keep saying it’s
a matter of time i know you’ll come down you’ll come down from there
you keep saying it’s a matter of time i know you’ll come down you’ll
come down from there come down from there it’s a matter of time and i
know you’ll come down you’ll come down from there you keep saying it’s
a matter of time and
i wish i knew another way to save you but i’ve tried so many ways to save you i can only say i love you i love you
PS. Yes, we know that the song order is messed up on this first printing of the hard copies. Unfortunately there were a couple mess ups like that...including the mix up with the thank you's of Bam and Chad's name not being on there. In our rush to get the CD out by Aug 5th we missed some very big typos! Thank you for your understanding! Next time we'll have time to double check more:) Love ya's.

Current mood: energetic
Last Sunday, Taylor and I went out for a few hours to clean up one of our beautiful back roads in West Chester, PA. It was a gorgeous day out, but pretty hot so we went out a little later in the day. This way we didn’t have to fight the heat as well. Armed with gardening gloves, a grabber and a bunch of biodegradable trash bags, we began cleaning up.
At a glance the woods lining the road had a few bottles here and there but once we got into it, it was like the find the objects game in the magazine “Highlights” (for any of you who remember that). As your picking up one can, three others would suddenly come into view buried under leaves and dirt. The Earth was trying to make the trash fit in.
There was a nearby stream littered with bags, soda cans and alcoholic containers galore. Seriously, we found more alcoholic beverages than anything else on the side of this snake like back road. Disturbing to say the least!
I saw this large bag in the stream. The print had pretty much washed away and mud had filled its pockets. I wrestled with this bag for over fifteen minutes trying to unhinge it from a rock. Part of me also wrestled with the fact that it had become part of the landscape now. Here was this trash with a tiny plant growing on top of it. At first I didn’t know if I should even move it but I scooped up the plant and the dirt it was growing out of and placed it on it’s rightful home on real dirt, not a plastic bag. It was interesting though to see how the Earth had worked around this bag. That sucker was really stuck in those rocks!
This is the bag after I got it out of the stream:
I honestly thought that I would be a grossed out by germs and “trash” but the reality was the Earth made everything seem sterile. Dirt and old leaves covered most of everything and I love dirt so it was no big deal…I still kept my gardening gloves on though for safe measure! It helped that it was a gorgeous day and a beautiful area but cleaning up the side of the road felt good in so many ways. It’s an active way to care for the Earth outside of recycling and using less electricity and so on. You are involved directly in giving the Earth a makeover and you can see your results immediately. It’s also so rewarding to see the faces of people driving by because you can tell you’ve made them think about it too.
Taylor and I Workin It!
We didn't get to do the whole road so we're going back to that road again soon to finish the sections we didn't get to. All in all we collected 4 bags of trash and recycling.
We really hope that you and your friends will join us in doing this when you can too. We’ll continue our efforts and continue to post pictures. We’d love to hear your stories and see your pictures too. That goes for anything related to giving the Earth a makeover:)
This is our "after" shot!

We're each spending some time on Saturday to clean up. If we plan out where ahead of time we'll let you know. Regardless we're going out somewhere and cleaning up! Hope you join in in your area:)
I started a myspace devoted to giving the Earth a "makeover" so please add it and share what you've done to pitch in. Just wanted a place for people to share ideas and actions they're taking towards treating the Earth with more respect. It's a total work in progress but what the heck, it's the thought that counts!

"Turn It Off"
[Verse] I want to turn the thoughts off in my head I want to forget the nasty things they've said I want to press pause and be silent for a while I want to be a motionless girl with a great big smile
[Chorus] Turn it off, unplug me I can't listen to it anymore Turn it off, unplug me I can't hear it cause I've heard it all before And I won't go on Turn it off, unplug me I can't listen to it anymore
[Verse] The darkness is taking over no room for escape The darkness rises in me no debate I know that there's a light within me being drown That the stormy season's here and the thunder's too loud
[Chorus]
[Bridge] Whether or not the storm decides to break I'm facing the clouds, I dare them to take What's left of me now, there's not much to gain A fragment of self, so please help yourself to this pain
[Chorus]
"This Is The Day"
[Verse] I can't wait to see the look on your face When you turn around and see what I'm doing You weren't expecting to hear what you're hearing It turns out I'm what you've always been fearing I can't wait for your reaction...
[Chorus] This is the day you turn around and see your mistake You'll be wishin you never walked away I've been waiting so long for this day This is the day I walked away You came running to see my escape I've been waiting for this day
[Verse] You tried telling me that I wasn't good enough That I don't fit in with what I'm bringing I'll just show you that what I got is better Than anything that you have ever imagined I can't wait for your reaction...
[Chorus]
[Chorus]
"Step Down"
[Verse] I'd follow you but it's not that simple He's so contagious, am I your favorite His disappearing act is growing tired I'm sick of being left here all alone I'd follow you but it's not that simple I turn around and you're gone
[Chorus] Oooh and my heart is breaking and I've been waiting for the longest time Step Down, Discard Me Oooh and my heart is breaking and I've been waiting for the longest time I've been waiting for, I've waited for, I've waited for the longest time
[Verse] You held me in, I ripped you out He's so contagious, he's still my favorite He was my friend now he's my lover He's just a fix to help me get through this You held me in I ripped you out You thought I'd wait but I'm gone
[Chorus[
[Bridge] You ripped the tape from my healing heart break I'm so infected, can I be saved I've quit your games for the last time
[Chorus]
"Lately"
[Verse] I was all alone standing by myself waiting for your call Or did you loose my number You just take your time, drag me on a line You never come clean, just leave enough to wonder I'm feeling something's wrong, knew it all along When you said my name this time, it wasn't the same
[Chorus] Lately you won't call me baby Is there another lady Is she the one you call baby, maybe My baby, is she the one you call baby Cause every time you fake me it breaks me And lately you won't call me
[Verse] Tell me what's her name, tell me what she's like Tell me all about the girl who stole you from me Is she beautiful, can she do it right Or is it just because she gives it up so easy Where is she tonight, where can she be found This time tomorrow I will be your only
[Chorus]
[Bridge] I'm gonna find him and make him mine His little love affair's run out of time I'm gonna bring him back tonight Go ahead and try to fight me I'm gonna find him and make him mine Make him mine
[Chorus]
"Panic Room"
[Verse] Always tell me what I'm allowed to say And should think, and should feel, Tell me how to behave
It's true you weren't the only one I gave permission to tell me how to run my life But now that's over, I have grown I want to make decisions on my own
[Chorus] You can't own me again, I can't live that way And this time, I'm mine, and I'll break away Cause you, you never were enough And I'm, I'm just giving up on you, we're through Cause you were never good enough
[Verse] For so long I lay down and looked away I used any reason or excuse to disengage
My time was spent under a spell I tried sleeping right through my hell Nightmares scared me awake I realized my life's at stake
[Chorus]
[Bridge] I'm just waiting, anticipating, tired of complaining You hear what I'm saying?
[Chorus]

Hey Everybody,
While we’ve had some Moxy Mob Street Teams up and running for a while, we’re rallying the troops and getting everyone together and their pages streamlined to help spread the word about The Moxy more effectively.
If you run or would like to run your own Moxy Mob Street Team, here are some things we ask to be on your page to make it “official” and to help us out the most:
1. Our songs in your playlist 2. Our videos on your page 3. The “Demand” widget (write to us at themoxy@yahoo.com for the code) 4. The Gydget Widget (write to us at themoxy@yahoo.com for the code) 5. Request Line Numbers for the Local Radio Stations 6. Calendar of Upcoming Shows 7. Repost our Bulletins 8. Feel free to use any of the images that we have on our page 9. Put our banners on your page
Here are some examples of cool street teams that are working hard already and each have their own style: http://www.myspace.com/moxymobayarea http://www.myspace.com/themoxyst http://www.myspace.com/themoxystreetteamnj http://www.myspace.com/nymoxy
The biggest aspect of running a Moxy Mob Street Team is to spread the word about us and to build our fan base in your area and surrounding areas. You can do this by: 1. Adding lots and lots of people in your area 2. Heavily promoting our shows when we come to your town 3. Getting people to call in and request The Moxy on the radio or request us in local music stores 4. Passing along any updates that we post on our page
If your street team is really effective you’ll get perks like getting free Moxy stuff and possibly get put on the list to come to see our show.
If you’re really ambitious you can go steps further and get our music into local DJ’s hands, talk to local venues and request us to play there, and request us in local music stores.
You can always contact us with questions, as you know we’re very hands on and get back pretty quickly. In addition though, please feel free to talk to Nick J from The Moxy Mob Bay Area’s page for help as well. He’s a great example of a very ambitious Moxy Mobber and he will be able to help with many questions and help with ideas as well for getting your page up and running. http://www.myspace.com/moxymobayarea
Please do a little research and see if there are Moxy Mob Street Teams in your area first before starting yours. As always let us know what questions you have.

Current mood: thankful
We just wanted to take a minute to hopefully bring some light into all of our lives with all the bad news we're getting every day about the economy and all that. We're strong believers that what you focus upon grows, so if we focus on all the bad shit, it only gets worse.
Yes there are bad things happening but we also hear so many positive and inspiring stories every day from lots of people. You just don't really hear it in any public forum so we thought we'd start a blog for everyone to express what they're thankful for or share something really positive that's happened to them or someone else. If this is not your thing that's fine, just disregard the blog, but if this blog speaks to you, please share. We want to focus on the positive and watch it grow.
Here's our thoughts for today (we'll be adding more every day):
1. We've been totally blown away by the generosity that has been bestowed upon us with donations and with loving support. We couldn't have more wonderful people supporting us. You inspire us to bust our asses every day.
2. We're sooo stoked to start our new recording on Friday and can't wait to share it with you.
3. We want to thank everyone who showed us so much love by coming to our shows and rockin the F out with us.
4. We want to THANK YOU for believing, supporting, and loving us. We will keep rockin for you.
Keep rockin!! Greta & The Moxy
Please leave your thoughts below about anything you're thankful for no matter how small or trivial you think it might be. (Negative Comments Won't Be Accepted :) )
