Who?

It's Like Love, a powerpop quintet out of the state of Arizona. Full of energy and fun, they're band you definitely shouldn't miss out on.



How Is It?

Well, I had to check my ID3 tags to make sure I wasn't playing an unreleased Motion City Soundtrack EP. Whether or not that's a bad thing depends on if you like Motion City Soundtrack in the first place. Lucky for me, I happen to love them, so getting into I'm Selling Your Things wasn't a problem at all. I'm Selling Your Things had me hooked from the first listen with each song containing an unbelievable amount of catchy riffs, overflowing synths and a whole lot of bynths (Bynths isn't actually a word, I just needed something to rhyme). I'm Selling Your Things' lyrics aren't a masterpiece, with many being clichéd and sex themed (But hey, it's not like anything about sex makes anything bad). Overall, along with the music, the vocals, that are so strikingly similar to that of Justin Pierre's, coincide together so well that It's Like Love could easily become one of your "Bands Of The Summer."

Well, like the rest of the world, we think myspace is the place to be.  But you can also find some stuff on purevolume.com if you so desire.

 

When are you coming to my town?

We put all our tour dates up on our myspace page as soon as we have them comfirmed.  If you dont see your city on there, be patient.  We tour a lot.  If you live in another country, be very patient.  We dont have passports or any foreign language skills.

 

How do I join your street team?

Go to our street teams myspace (which can be found in our top 8) and add them to your friends.  There is more info on that page.

 

When are you putting out another CD?

Its hard to say.  We have been writing a lot lately, so thats the first step.

 

How old are you guys?

Jon Blair is the youngest at 19 and Jeremy is the oldest at 21.

 

Are you single?

We like to think that we are in a 5-way relationship with each other.  Just a big sweaty man pile.  Its really hot.

Where do you live?

All of us live in Glendale, Arizona except for Bradley who lives in a town called Gilbert which happens to be the hay capital of the world.  Whoa!

 

How long have you been a band?

Weve been Its Like Love for 2 years.  Weve had other lineups with different names and all that fun stuff.  We were all in bands in high school.

 

Where do you go to school?

We dont let schooling interfere with our education.  Stay in school kids, or you will end up like us.

 

Whats up?

Not much, just editing my top 8 and watching Conan OBrien videos on youtube.

 

How come you guys always spell it gunna instead of gonna like it should be?

Hmm, well save that answer for the die hard fans.

 

I heard you guys were in a car accident.  Is that true?

Yeah.  Everyones doing it.  Look on our myspace page for the picture of the van.  We have a story up there with it.

 

Whos your favorite band?

Well, we listen to all kinds of stuff.  As far as our genre, we are die-hard fans of AAR and Motion City Soundtrack (if it didnt show).  But we are all classic rock lovers and we listen to rap a lot too.  Jonathan loves Boyz II Men.  Jon Blair likes to play vinyls backwards while watching The Smurfs.

 

What bands influence you?

Well, we are influenced by everything we listen toespecially the poppy stuff.  We also draw inspiration from our friends, like Downtown Singapore or For Felix.  A Change of Pace are the biggest help.  We love them and they love us.  Were gunna get married.

 

Will you comment my pics?

Maybe, if it catches our eye.  Despite what our dark, gloomy music might tell you, we do have senses of humor.  If you amuse us, we will probably pay more attention to you.

 

What label are you on?

We arent signed, but thanks for bringing it up.

 

Who writes the songs?

Well, generally someone will show up to practice with a new idea and we will branch off of that.  Jeremy reads a lot (like Cosmo and stuff) so we let him write the lyrics, but someone else might throw a line in here or there.

 

When can I meet you?

Whenever you get your happy ass to a show.  :)

 

Why is Jon so quiet?

Hes saving it up so he can be extra loud on stage.  Also, hes thinking about sunsets.

 

What is that little piano thing that Bradley plays?

Its a synthesizer.  Its not actually an instrument but a time machine he uses to fight crime and stop pollution.

 

Why did Jeremy cut his hair?

He needed to lose weight.  Plus, we can see his cute face now.

 

What do you guys do for fun?

Besides each other?  Hmmwell we like to hangout with friends.  We spend a lot of time practicing, of course.  Mostly we hang out at Nicks house and watch either The Sandlot or Home Alone and drink all of his moms orange juice.

 

Why did you take my favorite song off your player?

Because we knew how much you liked it and we wanted to rob you of it.  So were gunna sit at home and listen to it on repeat while we have a pillow fight and you aren't invited.

 

Why did you cover Bohemian Rhapsody?

Because Freddie Mercury is the reason we play music.  Well, him and Mark Hoppus.

 

How come you only play at churches when you play in Glendale?

Well, there arent exactly any venues in town.  Glendale Arena is a little bit out of our league.

 

Are you ever gunna make it out to the East Coast?

We already did.  You just didnt like us yet.  Well be back.

 

How did you come up with the name?

Its Like Love is actually Mongolian for Candyland is awesome.  We love Candyland.  It goes good with beer.

Most likely.

 

What is your favorite place youve been on tour?

We like a lot of places for different reasons.  L.A. is just really nice and we have had tons of fun in Texas.  Wichita was probably the most welcoming.  We also met a lot of cool people in Colorado.  We like most of the places we go.

 

Is it really like love?

No, it's more like lust.
