Central Florida's Million Meal Challenge is an urgent call to all citizens of Central Florida to take meaningful action steps to help feed their neighbors in need during the 2008 fall season.  The goal is for Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida to be able to distribute one million additional meals for struggling families, seniors, working poor, homeless, and others in need.

What is the community being asked to do?

~Organize a food and fund drive in your workplace, place of worship, school, or civic group.

~Participate in Second Harvest Food Bank's "Bring Your Lunch Day" event in September.

~Drop off donations Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4 pm at Second Harvest's Food Rescue Center (1918 W. Princeton Street, Orlando).

~Make a financial donation.  Each $1 can provide 4 meals.

Description:
During National Hunger Action Month 2008 one of the most effective and fun ways to help is to organize a "Bring Your Lunch Day" event in your workplace or other group.  This activity not only provides opportunities to build awareness of the hunger problem, it also takes the meaningful action step of helping Second Harvest Food Bank provide more food for people in need.
