Since this interview was published in italian, we´ll publish it in english here!

Hi J.! "One Size Fits All" is one of the best 2007 underground releases in Sweden! It's so creative, and your songwriting is really well-done! Are you satisfied of your release's feedbacks? Are you still proud of your album, or would you like to change anything in it, if it could be possible?

- Hi Hellvis! Thanks for your nice words about our debut. Most people who reviewed it have actually enjoyed the album (more or less), so of course I am very satisfied with the feedback. Of course there are some details that could have been done better or been adjusted, but I don´t believe there is anything to gain from that kind of thinking... if you have made a perfect album which sounds exactly the way you wanted it to, what´s left to achieve? But if I had to say something: I wish I didn´t have to catch a cold two days before I had to put down the vocal tracks. I guess my performance could be a lot better then. But all in all, I´m still proud of the album!

Your style is rich of influences, but you tried to find a personal way of expression. What's your musical background, and what can you tell us about your sources of inspiration?

- I consider guitar to be my main instrument and I´ve been playing that instrument for more than 15 years. I guess it all started with traditional metal like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Black Sabbath (which still is one of my fave bands, Iommi really knows how to write a riff) and from there I went to more extreme stuff, like thrash/death and black metal. I guess extreme metal has been my main focus during the years, but I have also learned to appreciate other kinds of music like industrial/noise/ambient and classical music (like Mussorgsky for example, as you surely noticed). Nowadays it´s mostly other stuff than music that triggers my creativity, like movies, books or things that happens to me.

Your arrangements are very complex, as well as the songs' structures. What's your way to write a song, and to arrange it? Are you the only songwriter in Plutonium, or your bandmates help you?

- I don´t know if my arrangements are THAT complex...but of course I can´t make an objective assessment of my music. Personally I think it´s important to try different structures as well as different paces and riffs. It would be extremely boring both for me and those listening to my music if the album contained eight songs build up the same way. Since all songs are build up different, there are different ways of writing songs for me...some songs are finished in one week, some may take several years to complete. I try to find the spirit and feeling I want to express in each song. Sometimes there needs to be a lot of layers and such things, sometimes less definitely is more. I write almost all music in Plutonium, the others aren´t that interested...

My complements for your lyrics! Is there a concept behind them?

- Cool that you liked them! It would be great to know what you like about them... There is no real "concept" between the songs, if you think for example like King Diamond, but you can definitely find a common theme: the world of today. Where our civilization closes in to the ones described in books like "1984" or "Brave new world". Where people beg to be controlled and preach individuality while conforming to the system. Fascinating, although dangerous.

What do you want to express with Plutonium music? Do you play in any other band?

- Myself, and to create the most industrial extreme metal art. I don´t play in any other bands for the moment, maybe in the future but now I´m totally focused on Plutonium.

Did you write new songs? What should we expect from Plutonium, in future?

- Hell yes! We have a lot of new songs and this week we will start recording a new album. During last year I was very creative so the album almost wrote itself! The music floats in all kinds of directions, it´s faster, harder, darker, slower, more industrial and even symphonic than "One size fits all". We are not signed for the moment, and we have actually no idea of when and how the album will be released. But since there are no label right now, there are no deadlines either so we won´t stress anything. We´re just feeling great with our new material, I hope those who liked "One size fits all" will enjoy this album as well!

Are you a live band too? Are you preparing a tour in order to support "One Size Fits All"?

- For the moment: no. I´ve said this before, and I know it´s a dull answer but this is the truth: we must solve some personal and technical problems before we enter a stage. So no tour for the moment, and no other random gigs either...sadly, because I think it would be great to play our songs live.

Are you satisfied of Khaoz Star's work?

- Definitely. I guess they chose a very bad time to start a label (when free downloading seems to be the number one way to get new music) but you never know what the future will be like. They have been very supportive and kept all promises they made so I have only good words for them and their work!

Well, this short interview is over! Last words are yours!

- Thanks for your interest! If someone got interested in Plutonium, just check out our websites http://www.plutoniumsite.com/ or http://www.myspace.com/thetrueplutonium for some fresh info and music...if you like it, why not check out our album? Take care and control!

Today, one year on the very day after the release of the debut album "One size fits all", Plutonium will start the recording of their second album.

Since 2007 was a year of creativity for Plutonium, we managed to put together enough music for a new fullenght album. Although all music weren´t written during last year (actually one song contains riffs that dates back to the mid-nineties!), lots of unfinished songs and parts finally reached their final shapes.

For the moment we have no idea which label will release this album. Since our deal with Khaoz Star was for one album, we are for the moment unsigned. We are very satisfied with Khaoz Star and their work, but as they haven´t offered a new deal yet, we are interested in other possible cooperations as well.

The new album will be recorded in our own studio - same procedure as the debut! However, we must say we have gained a lot more studio experience since then. Last summer we made a pre-production for four of our new songs, which gave us the opportunity to try out different soundscapes and ideas.

We will not hurry things this time! Our official releases have been recorded during periods of stress, but this time we will follow the motto of Joe the plumber (known from Fulcis masterpiece "The Beyond"): "It will take as long as it takes!". That does not mean we will spend several years on this album, but since we are not signed yet there are no use for deadlines or shit like that...

The material we´ve finished is definitely more varied and dynamic than the songs on "One size fits all". Rawer, darker, heavier, faster, slower, more primitive, more complex, more symphonic, more industrial, well let´s just say we have not limited ourselves. And we are extremely satisfied with the songs...

So today begins a new chapter of in the book of Plutonium. JOIN US!

In the beginning of this year I got the idea to post something at least once a week on this blog. Mostly the contents of these postings concerned the band in one way or another, but other times they could deal with whatever I found interesting...

And now I can see that I´ve almost fulfilled my personal duties - there are almost 52 postings this year. Some of them were maybe not that thoughtful or interesting, while others were quite good. I´m actually even proud of a few of them!

We will of course use the blog, but the aim to publish something every week is now gone!

Plutonium will however be more active the next year. The second album is taking shape in our minds, and so far we´ve finished six songs, and there are a few new ones in progress.

I´d like to finish this posting with a great "THANK YOU AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR" to all who supported us, bought our album, listened to our music, mailed us, made "friends" with us here on Myspace, all whole left comments on our page or blog (especially Iratxe!), and all the ones I cannot mention here...well, you rule! See you in 2008!

Take care and control!

Well, maybe a bit early to sum up this year now, but since I´ll probably be kind of busy later on, I better be in good time!

What do we remember from 2007? I have to be very egoistic here: the release of our debut "One Size Fits All" was a somewhat personal victory for me. I am still very satisfied with the album the way it turned out, and the result inspired me quite a lot, since I´ve written a couple of new songs during the year. Hopefully we will record and release them in a not too distant future.

There were definitely other things to remember: my visit to Prague this summer, some great concerts and great albums from Watain, Mayhem, Limbonic Art, Forgotten Tomb and some more!

Of course the world lost a few inspiring human beings, like Ingmar Bergman and Lee Hazlewood. Both old men, but their art can never grow old, it will live on!

All in all, I´m pretty satisfied with 2007. And you?

Take care and control!

Do you remember that old King Diamond song? I do, but I can´t say that song was one of the greater moments in the kings´ career. The idea of metal bands making christmas songs is kind of ridiculous. The idea of christmas albums and songs are in general, actually pretty cheesy....

I guess some of you may puke over this christmas hysteriah that plagues the western society from the middle of november to the end of the year. And also I think, if there ever was any religious elements involved in celebrating christmas, they are as good as erased from the minds of the grey mass (and by the way, celebrating christmas, or yule, has pre-christian roots so they didn´t invent that either, consider it more like an ad hoc-solution!). Christmas is, above all, a feast for the business...and yet another race for the rats to try (and they do it every year).
I have to say it´s pretty cool to have a couple of days off at the end of the year, doing nothing except eating lots of pickled herring (a swedish specialty if there ever is one...there are about 20 different kinds in the shops and I assure you - you´ll need everyone of them!) and drink some great swedish (or norwegian/danish) aquavit, reading some good books, watching some good movies, playing some guitar...basically doing anything I haven´t had time for recently. I´m sure all of you reading this ignore the rat race and spend the holidays as you please...

Take care and control!

This week I´m going to see Motörhead live for the first time ever! Yeah, I know that sounds strange since Lemmy and his platoon are constantly on the roads, and how many times haven´t they played in Sweden? I don´t know (I´m sure they don´t know either!). Let´s just say that I´ve been too damn lazy to check them out earlier...but when I heard they are playing in a town 80 kilometres away from where I live there were no doubts, I had to get a ticket!

I´ve always liked Motörhead but my big interest for them began a few years ago when I picked up a copy of "Ace Of Spades" on sale in a record shop. And I guess I listened to that album that whole summer...Afterwards I checked out the rest of their discography (not the entire catalogue, but most of it!) and I realized they have always kept a quite high overall standard. And they still do, their recent studio album ("Kiss of death") really have some great songs!

Lemmy has always claimed Motörhead not to be a heavy metal band, and I can easily understand him since the metal genre are plagued by some really boring and worn-out clichés (don´t misunderstand me, I love metal, but I do think there are some childish things in the genre!). But I can´t imagine an extreme metal scene without Motörhead. Personally I think Motörhead had a greater impact on the thrash and black metal scene than Venom ever had. Also, Motörhead sounded more evil to me than Venom did back in the days...

Motörhead comprise everything I like with hard, raw and loud music. They are definitely one of my fave bands and if I wish I will incorporate anything from Motörhead in my own creations, it must be their energy and uncompromising attitude.

I could go on forever but what the hell: MOTÖRHEAD RULES. Period.

Take care and control!
