The final showdown for Round 2 is

25% of the score is based on audience response, so PLEASE COME AND CHEER HIM ON. Here's your chance to really act like the groupie you know you are...

They're serving up burgers and grilled chicken sandwhiches for only $2.50, so you can cheer and chow, too! Regular karaoke starts at 4:00 and the Idol contest will begin sometime in the neighborhood of 5:00.

On Sunday, August 26, all the Tucson finalists (4 finalists at 3 bars for a total of 12 people) participated in a private, a capella audition with the judges, along with an interview by Equality Arizona regarding human rights and community pride. Interview/audition scores will be added to the final competition scores to determine the bar winner.

The finalists from each bar (3 from Tucson, 6 from Phoenix) will go on to represent their bar at the Rainbow Festival in Phoenix on Saturday, October 6, for a chance to win $3,000 and recording studio time.

Going into round 2, Michael had IBT's highest score. With your help, he'll move on to the Final Round!

Lots of Too Much Information, But Not Too Much Smoke

You asked for it, you got it -- another night of cajoling and carrying on at Howl at the Moon, where there's no telling what will happen next. And of course it is Pride Month... need I say more?

We've added still more great classic rock, blues, dance, and original tunes to our line-up... you'll hear a bunch of them this weekend that will get you bobbin' your head and singin' along. (Rumor has it we might take a shot at "Ventura Highway" by America...

As usual, cover is $5--it's always worth at least that much just to see Bruce's shoe selections.

And HEY--the new law is in effect, so THE ONLY THING SMOKIN' WILL BE THE BAND!

New Ballads Just in time for VDay!

Saturday we return to "home base", Howl at the Moon for our first full-blown dance party of 2007.

Saturday's show is dedicated to the memory of TMI's founding drummer, Ryan Monroe, who passed away in January. (Loyal fans will always remember Ryan for composing the awesome parody lyrics on TMI's popular "Cross-Dressed Man"). Cover is $5. TMI will donate anything that goes into our tip jar to Wingspan's Southern Arizona Gender Alliance in Ryan's memory.

Among the new songs being introduced or dusted off from the archives are crowd-pleasers like Van Morrison's "Brown-Eyed Girl" and "Gimme Shelter" by the Rolling Stones. And who knows what else!?! Rumor has it there's another ballad or two on the set list for all you Valentiners out there.

Oh, and if you haven't seen us for awhile, you're in for a surprise or two as well...

For more information or booking, visit the band's Web site at www.tmi-band.com, write to info@tmi- band.com, or call us at 520-571-7878.

Subject: Sad news to report

Hello friends,

I am very sorry to report to you that a friend of SAGA and Dezert Boyz passed away early Tuesday morning. Neighbors found the body of Ryan Monroe, 29, in his central Tucson apartment early Tuesday. The coroner has ruled the death a suicide.

Ryan moved to Tucson in the fall of 2004 from San Diego, CA. Anyone who knew Ryan remembers his sly smile, charming style, and cutting wit along with his exceptional musical talent. He had only been in town a few weeks when he came to visit Wingspan and noticed a bulletin board posting for a band seeking a drummer. Shortly thereafter, Ryan became the newest member of what we all now know as Too Much Information. After several months with TMI, Ryan left to join the indie folk trio Redlands, with whom he performed until the time of his death.

Local friends are planning a memorial service, which will most likely be held Sunday afternoon. Details will be released as soon as they are available.

The entire Wingspan staff is saddened by this news, and we extend our condolences to Ryan's family and friends as well as to the community at large. Wingspan's Anti-Violence Project and Southern Arizona Gender Alliance encourage you to be gentle with yourselves and each other during this difficult time. Following is a list of helpful, culturally sensitive resources you may wish to look to for support. Please – do not hesitate to access these resources for yourself or on behalf of a friend.
