I was brought up listening to rock, blues, jazz and soul. At 13 when other kids my age were listening to the chart music on the radio, I went to my first ever gig, B.B. King supported by Gary Moore!!!!!!, but it was my second gig a few months later that was to change and shape my life. My parents had always listened to Walter Trout at home, album after album, shaping my knowledge about how music is formed and how lyrics transform a song etc..
My mam took me to see Walter play and from the moment he came on stage I was hooked, I stood right at the front for the whole hour and half and knew that is what I wanted to do.

Not only did I experience one of the best gigs of my life, I was also very lucky to chat to Walter and his band after the gig. When I told Walter that I had just started to learn the guitar he gave me lots of advice and told me to practice. A year later when I caught up with him at his next European tour he remembered me and had a chat again after the show, I told him that I had now started recording some songs and handed him a CD of some covers that I had made.
I was lucky enough to catch him twice on that tour and 10 days later he had made a CD for me from his ipod and muttered the immortal words "listen to everything, you can learn from it all".

Over the years Walter has shown me so much support and given me lots of advice. In turn I am constantly tuning new people into his music and telling them what a fantastic live show a Walter Trout gig is .
I am now honoured to announce that Walter has requested that I open for him on his 2 welsh shows on 12th October at The Globe, Cardiff and 13th October in Sin City, Swansea.
This gesture from Walter means so much to me to know that over the years he has followed my progress and is now able to give me the chance to open the show for a guy who is currently celebrating 20 years of 'Hardcore Blues'.

It would be great if you could all come down to support me, but also if you have never seen or heard of Walter Trout, I can guarantee one hell of a ROCKIN live show.

P.S - This also means that I get 2 days off school! :) Hehe.
Thanks guys.

Take care and have a brilliant week.

How could a week of my life just fly by?

That week was packed full of travelling, singing, meeting new people and most importantly having fun.

It was about 2 weeks ago that I travelled up to East London in the car on my way to a rehearsal studio called The Premises. I had never been into a rehearsal studio before, so I was excited and eager to get there as soon as possible. I can remember how that journey from Wales to London seemed like it was going to take forever!

Len and I had arranged to meet two guys at The Premises. Mike (Bass player) and Kris (Drummer). We had never met them before and we were going to meet for the first time ever and rehearse together ready for a gig that we had on Sunday 14th June called The Marylebone Festival. We were invited to go along and perform on The Bedford Bandstand stage and I was soooooo excited!

In the past, I have performed all my gigs with just acoustic guitar, but it was thought better that for the Marylebone Festival we would get a band together to play 5 songs. Mike and Kris were brilliant and they learnt the songs easily and we all had such a laugh in the rehearsal studio, The Premises.

Thursday night I had to leave London and go back to Wales as I had school the next day ! ..

Getting up for school on a Friday morning after spending a late night in London was not exactly top on my list !! but I didn't really mind as I knew I'd be travelling back up to London on a train again to have a full day of band rehearsal on the Saturday 13th June, the day before the gig and after quite a long day of rehearsing that Saturday, all of us felt confident that we knew the songs inside out, back to front and upside down!

Sunday 14th June - The day of The Marylebone Festival arrived.

I can remember how twitchy I was in the morning, I was sitting in the window of our hotel just waiting for the clock to tick by! I couldn't wait to get up on that stage with the band and just sing.

The weather was beautiful as we drove from East London over to West London where the festival was. With the sun shining down, a crowd full of happy people, a professional stage and an amazing sound system being controlled by a great sound man - Dale!.. ooh and a load of ice cream vans around me - I knew that it was going to be a special kind of day!
The Bedford Bandstand stage was holding about 22 acts which were all equally brilliant and professional. I was determined to be equally as brilliant and professional in spite of being the youngest act to play on the stage!

Backstage I can remember how we were all just jumping about and so excited to perform as a band for the first time at such a brilliant Festival. I can still feel the excitement now. It was SO much fun!

It was AMAAAZZZZING !  Nothing went wrong for us on stage (and I didn't forget any of the words!! Which is a bonus!)

I was so impressed by the turn-out of people that came along to see us play. So I really do want to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone that came along to see us play and to everyone that gave us their feedback.

Also for anyone that watched me play LIVE online on The Bedford's webcast - THANK YOU so much for your support too! It was such an amazing day and I'm hoping that I'll get the chance to play more and more and even more festivals like that.

For anyone who missed it don't panic!  A lot of video footage was recorded that day and Len has been working SO hard this week to put all the video footage into good use and make a great behind the scene video showing some unseen clips of me in the rehearsal studio with the band and also showing some LIVE video footage of us performing at the gig.

If you'd like to get a taste of what the Marylebone Festival was like.. then please check out the video, which has actually just been uploaded today.. in the backstage area of my website.

It’s about 12 minutes long so please let us know if you had any problems playing it, as we have a lower resolution version if enough of you have difficulty. Thanks guys, that would be extremely helpful!.

Also I would love it - If you would like to show me some more support..
By getting a FREE download of my song "So Into You" by checking out this website...

Well that's it from me :)  Speak more soon and I'll keep you updated on stuff happening in my world.

Hope you're all having a brilliant week.

Hey Everyone !
How are you all ?

Well to be honest, I'm fantastic but just a little bit squished as I'm on a 3 hour train journey coming home from London.
Me and my mam are literally squished elbow to elbow in some stupid little seat with my acoustic guitar lying across our laps.
I'm waaayyy to protective over my guitar and there is NO way that i'm going to leave it in a luggage area somewhere !
It's half past 12 midnight, and we've got 3 hours ahead of us until we reach Cardiff
- so i thought i'd fill you in about my London gig at The Bedford !

It was a great day - and the venue was amaaazing ! .. The sound system was brilliant and the sound man, Dale - was absolutely superb
Knew exactly what he was doing and was just a really nice guy !
I really did enjoy myself - me and Len performed a 6 song acoustic set containing "Lately", "So Into You", "Beautiful" ..
and 3 NEW songs, which we have not really recorded yet but are in the process !

I just wanna' thank everyone who took the time out yesterday to watch me perform LIVE at The Bedford on the webcast
It really does mean a lot to me and hearing your feedback would be great in helping me to improve :)

The band who played after me called RubyLux, I thought were brilliant - I really loved their songs and they were a real tight band
And plus they were very hot! So definitely a band to look out for girls! ... And the bass player was WELSH ! HaHa!

Jeez, I'm so tired.
But there is no way i'm gonna' get any sleep on this train -
So i'd better shift my bum and have a wander about the train in hope of finding some more coffee to keep me awake and sane!
I can't wait for a lie in tomorrow.. Aawwh !

Thanks again everyone for your support, it really does make me smile!
Love lots from ... England?... (yeah i'm definitely still in England... )

Hey Everyone - This is a Blog that I typed up on my mobile during the car-ride home from London, but couldn't post it for some odd reason ! :) Kadesha x

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey everyone :)
How are you all feeling on this lovely sunny day ?
Ha.. well it's really sunny in Wales today .. Or England
- I'm not quite sure what country I am in at the moment, as i'm lying in back seat of my car driving home from London!

Last night was SO exciting.
My first EVER London gig !
I loved it, I LOVE London, I love gigs!
Ha it was brilliant experience to play out of Wales and to a totally new audience. Fair play it was quite nerve-racking actually !! HaHa
But as soon as I got onto that stage.. I just relaxed and went straight into my comfort zone by doing what I love most..
SINGING !
Me and Len planned to perform 6 of our own songs.. But when I announced that it was our last song, the audience went a bit mental and asked for more.. that was brilliant and suited me fine.. Cause I was really enjoying myself and didn't want to get off the stage !!
So we finished off our 7 song acoustic set with "Beautiful" and it really went down a storm!
The audience were brilliant and gave me a lot of positive feedback and some constructive criticism - which is equally as great and helpful for me to move on further !
Fair play .. I feel absolutely Fantastic :)

My first London gig could not have got any better. :)
I didn't go to sleep till about 3a.m .. (totally rock n' roll) HaHa ! So I must admit that I have had a bit of a snooze in the backseat during the drive home.
One more thing..I'm SO hungry !
It's almost 2p.m on a sunday afternoon and I have not eaten a proper meal since Friday evening!
JEEZ! So hopefully my mam will stop driving soon and FEED me !

Well that's all from me :) I just wanted to let you guys know how it went.
And thanks to anyone who watched the live show on the webcast :) Please let me know your thoughts of it :)

Chow for now.

Love from Wales.. or England !

Well - I went out into the big wide world a couple of weeks ago.
I caught a train to London .. all by myself !!
I went to London to do a photoshoot with Jasmine Falconer - a really great photographer based in London.
It was great - felt like a superstar having the camera pointing at me and flashing everytime I struck a different pose .
Ha .. I loved London - always seems like there is something going on.. they walk very fast !
.. I was struggling to keep up sometimes and even had to jog a bit !
