A month ago I posted about my new DJ opportunity.  The show airs every Thursday night at 8 pm EST.  I love all the music and really enjoy promoting the Indie Music scene.  Now I have even more news for the Indie Artists.

You can submit your music directly to the Indie Radio World family.  I highly encourage you to do so since ALL of the Indie Radio World family will have access to your music.  That's right...90+ DJ's will have access to your music.  That's right...90+ DJ's could potentially play your music.  Check out the link below to find more information on how to submit your songs.  All genres accepted!!!

Artist Submission

Just do me one little favor.  If you submit your music, drop me a note so I'll be looking for it.  I wanna download it and get a jump on all the great music!
And be sure to spread the word on my DJ show Thursday nights at 8 pm EST.  Check this post for all the information!!!

Make sure to add these bands to your friends list wherever you live.  They are coming to a town near you soon!  Add all the bands!  Geesh...lets show some support people!

Join me every Thursday night at 8 pm EST for Dazed at Night, Brilliant Insanity with a dash of Confusion.

I will be playing Indie music, mostly rock, along with mainstream songs.  As my Indie library expands I hope to go all Indie.  Some of you who have sent me tunes via  email will also hear your songs from time to time.  I will be sending a mass email later with information for musicians to submit their music for play at all stations associated.

You can find my show here:  www.indieradioworld.info You can listen to the show, register a login and password and join me in the chatroom.  As always, I will strive to bring you the very best in music and humor.  There are updates coming to the site as well, so if it doesn't work for some reason let me know.

Shelly Ryan will be providing her comedy love with Seriously Weird News each week.

If you'd just like to listen in and not chat, you can find the show here: http://208.105.182.165:20854/..lclr_hi.m3u

Hope to see you in chat!

Wow...thats all I can say about 2008 and Quiet on the Set.  I've met so many wonderful people here that I am truly blessed.  I am also thankful for all 43 of my guests this year.  Without you, this show would've folded many months ago.

There are so many people to thank I don't think I'll attempt, for fear of forgetting someone and hurting feelings.  Those that have stuck with me through thick and thin, I am forever grateful.

2009 isn't starting off very well.  Nowlive.com isn't returning my tech support submissions and I'm getting increasingly frustrated.  Back some 3-4 weeks ago, I updated Gizmo and VEmotion to their lastest versions.  Seems harmless enough..but now those programs aren't interacting with each other.  Gizmo I use to "call into" Nowlive.com and converse with the guests.  I use VEmotion to interact with Gizmo to allow me to play mp3 files.  If my guests are 70-30 musicians, its rather difficult to conduct a live interview without their music.  Kinda defeats the prupose of my show.

So I am researching other options if my support request goes unanswered for a 4th week and 4th submission.  Until such time as the technical issues are resolved, I am limiting the scheduling of guests to non-musical guests.  Unless of course you can recreate your songs live on air either accapella or with a gazoo.

I also have more exciting news in the works but experience tells me not to speak too soon.  So for now, I'll keep those to myself.  But as always, the news will be exciting and you won't be disappointed.

Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes
Old Toad started asking independent artists for songs to put on a compilation CD to support troops in 2004, they sent out 50 copies.  The summer CD 2008 shipped 2580 copies.  A lady in North Carolina with Soldiers Angels contacted Old Toad, this lady runs Operation Santa Claus with soldiers angels.  She WISHED for 30,000 copies to send in packs to troops.

Our operating budget is our own money as we need to buy CD's. However 30,000 is way above our means financially BUT WE WILL TRY!  They are asking anybody to send BLANK CDR PRINTABLE CD's, as many as they can to help.  They are not asking for money, only CD's.

They are also trying to find a corporate sponsor but they are not incorporated as a non charitable organization so naturally they won't deal with them.

FREEDOM is not just a word , AND being THANKFUL, now that requires action.

They make the CD's in their basement with a Pioneer CD Duplicator and 2 printers.  They accomplish these feats by themselves without asking for anything.  Just like our troops, giving and not asking for anything in return.  Have you ever spent a holiday away from home?  No family or even a phone call?  I have and its damn lonely.  These CD's are a way to bring a moment of comfort from home.

Here are a few FAQ's:

CD's are NOT for sale, ever!
They are sent to the troops, free of charge.
CD's are also sent to artists who perform at Legion halls or Veteran organizations.  Only stipulation to receiving these CD's is they must be given away for FREE.
We do not sell the music or make it available for download anywhere.
Artists retain all rights to their music they submit plus receive a free copy of the compilation CD.
We do not want any monetary rewards or special recognition for our effort

If you'd like to assist in the project, please send me an email at quietontheset01 at g mail dot com and I'll pass along your email to these folks.  Or you can email them directly at meoldtoad at hot mail dot com

Hello From TBG Entertainment,

TBG Entertainment is in the planning stages of a benefit concert for flood victims of Hurricane Ike.

The date and locations are still being determined along with the line up of artists on the roster. What is known about the locations is that one of the shows will be in Texas. Money from the show will benefit Galveston area residents who will no doubt be in need of goods, services and money because of Hurricane Ike.

Artists interested in participating should contact  TBG Entertainment at this page http://www. myspace. com/tbgentertainmentnashville or http://www. reverbnation. com/label/tbgentertainment
