I am terrible about remembering to post appearances on my website, so sorry!  But here's where I'll be on Halloween:
the annual KYRW signing next Saturday, October 31, at Joseph Beth in Lexington from 1-3 PM. Authors:
Anya Bast, Sheryl Brennan, Sophie Danu, Teresa Reasor, Jules
Bennett/Sophia Rae, Toni Blake/Lacey Alexander, Dianne Castell, LuAnn
McLane, Rosemary Laurey/Madeleine Oh/Georgia Evans, Patricia Rice, Shiloh
Walker and Molly Harper.

And we'll have candies, cookies, and prizes!

RegencyReads.com has just produced the e-book format of one of my old category Regencies, ARTFUL DECEPTIONS. If you're interested in the older books, go take a look. The site has some great reading!

Just a note to let you know one of my very earliest titles has just come out in e-book format.  This was an early Signet Regency.  In the original story, the heroine was blind. My editor picked that month to pitch a fit over all the authors giving her the handicap-of-the-month books and made me find another flaw.  All my lovely scenes where the heroine described her surroundings through touch and sound and smell became meaningless.  This was back in the days of typewriters, folks!  I did my best to edit back then and had another opportunity when I proofread the e-book, but I'm still shaking my head in dismay. And I gave up trying to fix the headhopping, too.  If you want a look at early Regencies and all the errors we committed and the rules we were allowed to break, here it is!

Here's a fun Twitter site, if you're into Twitter:  Twitter.com/Alyssa_day

She lists new romances coming out and writes great books, too.  Waaaay more focus than I have!

Current mood:  busy
I'm madly trying to write two books at once (don't try this at home!) while I'm supposed to be promoting my July release.  So I may have to just drop links from one blog to the next rather than write new ones in each place.  On Thursday, I'll be blogging at ninc.com.  If I'm lucky, the link is http://www.ninc.com/blog/index.php.  It's an amazing blog, with lots of wonderful writers, so it's a good place to browse.  Please stop by!

On Tuesday, the world lost Edith Layton, one of the best Regency historical authors I know, and I lost a good friend.  I think the outpouring of grief on her memorial at www.wordwenches.com says what I need to say better than I could. I try to think there's a new star in the firmament to make up for the new hole in my world.   http://www.wordwenches.com

Thanks to reader requests (and pushing from Alicia!), I've finally pulled together the Magic series and located an epublisher. MERELY MAGIC is the first one up. The rest have been ordered and will be scanned in the coming weeks.

This should be the link directly to my page: http://www.belgravehouse.com/bookstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=468

But take a look around. There are a lot of great OOP (out of print) books on this site and it's companion site, Regency Reads. I'm thrilled technology has given us another outlet for these oldies but goodies.

Guess now I'll have to buy an e-reader, but trying to make that decision.... Worse yet, my dh says Adobe is coming up with their own. Argh!

Home from holiday travels and attempting to catch up. Hey to everyone I've neglected these last weeks! Glad to see everyone is partying on nicely without me. .. I'll be heading into taxes and revisions shortly but I'll try to pop my head above ground occasionally to see if the sun is out...

And no, I'm not trying to be PC. This is what my Christmas cards have always said, right along with peace and love and joy of the season. Hope everyone has a merry holiday and a truly brilliant new year! (and since I can't figure out how to add images or links to this blog, I've just added a wonderful website of images)

Current mood:  curious

Given the blood bath happening in NYC, I've been playing with a new project lately instead of a new proposal. With 45 books on the market, I have a pretty extensive backlist, with most of the titles collecting dust now that they're out of print. So I'm looking around for e-publishers who might be interested in already published books. And amazingly, there are several. One that has a wonderful selection of Regencies and other romances is Authors Studio

My biggest problem is that I am very bad at keeping computer files of old titles. The really, really old ones were done on typewriter and the paper copies have been archived. The books written on my Leading Edge (ie: my Haunted Computer) apparently did not get transferred to any backup. And those books that are on old floppies are in so many pieces that I'm not certain I can piece them together again. Even books sitting in my 5-year-old PC may be neatly filed by chapter, with no complete file, no revisions or copyedits included. Electronic files have only recently been accepted by NYC, so complete book files are relatively new for me.

So I may end up scanning these puppies if I'm ever to see my backlist again. But I'm now thinking maybe these dusty unsold books under the bed might be good on Amazon...
