Many people have asked us Questions pertaining to Health and Fitness- AND that is why I'm writing this Blog. What can I say, except what I have learned so far. We are just girls who try to seek balance. And it is truly a compliment to receive messages asking for advice. 

With maintaining a lean physique- There is a lot of sacrifice. BUt you can't let it control you. It's all about consistency- If you respect your body, You'll start to respect life.  If you find a balance with ALL aspects of life, you will truly resonate with positivity, and everything will JUST START TO FLOW.
 
There are no short cuts- And I can't tell you secrets... I can just tell you truth.  So if you are aiming to lose weight in 2 weeks and then calling it a day... you are kidding yourself.  Don't aim for events,, aim for today.
 
If I must starve myself, feel miserable, and ultimately become LOW on energy- it's NOT worth being lean!!

I asked myself- what If I can create a good balance?? Make my healthy food taste great, Eat the right amount of Complex Carbs, exercise in a fun way, feel energetic, eat something tasty often ( Or as often as I can. )    What if I can feel HAPPY, feel fearless, feel sexy too....?   I thought, "I bet I can create THAT Balance- And figure it out!"  And so we did......
 

Here is the trick:
 
Follow your heart, follow YOUR body. It's as easy as that!
- If your body is tired one day, take it easy with the workout.
 
-Change up your workouts daily, keep yourself interested! Keep Challenging yourself.

- Be sneaky, and find a way of creating your favorite dishes, and make them healthy, By substituting  healthy ingredients- Ex: Lean beef, Egg Whites, Honey, Pure Maple Syrup- Healthy carb source such as oatmeal, ezikiel bread, sweet potato- Add flavor with all natural ingredients. STAY AWAY FROM Splenda, Protein Powder (with artificial flavoring), Artificial Flavoring and so on! Man, talk about polluting your body to the max! That stuff causes cancer and who knows what!

-Compete against YOURSELF. Forget the world, Why compare?
 
Eat when you are hungry- AND eat what your body wants-- Now be honest with yourself. I'm not saying eat pizza. I'm saying, if your body wants a carb- eat a healthy one!
 
 WORKOUT PLAN
Cardio and Weights- find a good balance between the two.  Do not over due anything! You'll only feel defeated, and warn down. Plus you will become intimidated for the next workout! Follow what YOUR body can do that day.
Be honest- Challenge your body- It takes work to remain lean. But don't become obsessed. 
 

DIET:
When are you hungry...then eat. What are you truly hungry for? Something more substantial..? Then have Oatmeal with Natural Peanut Butter mixed in. Follow what you want. You want that peice of chocolate- well then eat it!  But limit it to a serving size! There is no need to overdue it!

JUST make sure to have:

 ~ 2-3 servings of Complex Carbs a day.
~ 2-3 servings of Healthy Fats a day.
~ Protein in every meal.
~ Green Veges
~ Lots of water and tea
~ A fruit- We like Apples :)
 
Don't make it complicated

 
IT'S ALL ABOUT BALANCE:
Find a balance with Work, Play, Rest, Love, Romance, Family, Laughter, Friendship, God, Learning, Facing Fears, Enjoying Hobbies, etc.
 
This world can be focused too much on the outer appearance at times.  But what really needs to be fixed is your inner self-  your soul....   If you create balance in your life, I GUARANTEE  a healthy body will come along as well.
 
It's not worth it if you are not happy.... Be happy, and THEN being fit will come along  :)

Maybe it's the fact that we are Taurus, Or maybe it's the fact that we're afraid of pushing that "rewind button," But whatever it is, we are quite stubborn to taking those much needed breaks~

However, It's amazing how much good recharging your batteries can do for you!

You can be so passionate about your career and certain things in life, however if you overindulge in these passions, you start to resent them due to the fact that they begin to be "check offs" on your schedule. AND That's when you need to take a step back.

Because, It's the only time in life where you can actually step back and STEP FORWARD at the same time! It's only going to better you in the end, and propel you forward when taking a break.

And when you do this, it reminds you that everything you do put your mind to is really all a CHOICE... Not check offs! They're Not a must.. But a plus! You're more free than you know!

So, Why don't you take a walk, Sip some wine, drive and explore new locations in your town, do everything you don't do! And get some good rest! RECHARGE YOUR BATTERIES~

And I'll tell you one thing, you'll wake up the next morning, all wond up, and ready to GO!

Hold the Reservations

It's amazing how abused this poor line is- "I'm starting tomorrow."

That's great you set a date, but hate to break it to you, tomorrow has a tomorrow. And that tomorrow has another tomorrow!

What are you reserving your energy for?


People try to gain power on others by ignorantly stating....


"You have one chance in Life." 
WELL, in the real world,

"You have one Life to chance!"


Quit "babying" yourself, and see who the real you is! 
In life there's a whole lot of friction, therefor people are frightened by the uncomfortableness of this fact, and result in indulging in COMFORTS.
 

Quit watching on the sidelines and partake in the game of life! Take off those training wheels and GO!

 

Because remember

"It's so easy to quit

It's so easy to bail,

but it's not so easy looking back on life

knowing that you failed"

 

So hold the reservations, and fly!

Instead of babying yourself, take baby steps forward... Soon you'll hit momentum, and If you keep pushing forward, the only place you're going to go IS FORWARD!!

Didn't anyone evItalicer tell you, staring is impolite...??

Why do we compare each other?
Why must we be the Best?
Is there such thing..........?

We judge, compare and compete simply because we are looking for validation... that's what we are doing.



Going to an event with a huge crowd of people, I found everyone scoping out one another, Scoping out their "competition." Everyone wants to be the best. That goes with
looks, with talent, with health & nutrition, with knowledge, with smarts, with popularity, with income
- THE LIST GOES ON!

A good question is, WHY are we so insecure about ourselves that we must COMPETE with the next human being? A better question is, WHY are we so insecure that we cannot be happy or content in life until: " all of the stars are aligned," Until "everything is in order," Until "I AM in my absolute best shape," Or "the best looking in the group," Or "the most talented of the bunch," Or " the most intellectual of the pack."
WHY must we feel that in order to be happy we must be PERFECT?!



That mind set is dangerous as it
WILL
rob your life if you do not change your perspective.

Being "the best" is just a feeling- A feeling that is certainly not factual- It is simply a thought you have created in your mind. Everyone has their own perspective and own opinion- SO who's to say one person is better than the next??" And, in all honesty, does it even matter?



LOOK AROUND, this beautiful world is yours! We must try and respect ourselves. Respect the life you have been so blessed to be given.

Yes , it's good to aim to be the best you can be...BUT LOVE where you are at, at this very moment as well!

----The purpose of life was not to compete with one another------

--------It's to Harmonize with one another----------

Why can't we all just be equal? Equally beautiful. If you look closely, and let that superficial mind set fade, you will clearly see the beauty in everyone- Including yourself! We all are uniquely beautiful- how can you compare originality??

Let's all succeed. That's more exciting to me :) Don't you agree?

Why aren't they writing?  

No one has came right out and said it,  BUT if I were
an outsider looking in, I'd wonder what's the hold up on
their Writing/Recording more material?  They're writers aren't they?

 


WELL,, we're proud to say that the pen never dropped. Dust my shoulder off :P  hehe. 

 So many song ideas and lyrics, and even melodies with perfect tracks are all ready Behind The Scenes, and prepared to be laid and presented to you!   We are naturally drawn to expressing
ourselves through writing music, and so it's nearly impossible to just shelf that interest of ours, EVEN with lack of time. But,,,, The hold up?  Traveling of course.

 

AS you may already know, we perform all over the US. Just recently got back from Palm Springs CA, Puerto Vallarta Mexico, Las Vegas NV, Reno NV, Beverly Hills CA, Lake Charles LA, Columbus OH, Chicago IL, and more!  In fact we will be
performing next week in the Bahamas. With all that said, WE also choreograph our shows. Which takes up days at a time to create and master those "edgy & high energy" moves.  IF YOU KNOW US... We certainly aren't going to travel to stage to stage without giving you all new edgy dance routines every time! :P  We're colorful girls, and we love to color outside the lines!
However,, That's been biding a good amount of time.

 

Also, we just relocated to VEGAS :)  We've adapted quickly to this scene, for it's the scene of entertainment!  But that meant searching for a new Engineer!

 

ALSO, we will be 2 of the 4 lead singers for a 5 night a week show called INTENSI-T, which we're in rehearsals for at the moment. The show will launch in July, at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay.  This show also spawned off to having a TV show called INTENSI-T TV on ABC and other channels internationally. We've been shooting for the TV show quite a bit recently as well.

 

THE GOOD NEWS?  Our pencils certainly are dull from accumulating lyrics and ideas throughout these past months for
upcoming songs.  The better news,, OUR STYLE has evolved!   And I'd say it evolved organically (untouched,) Since we paid no attention to music "experts"  claiming to stick with just one genre and mastering it.  We never stunted our growth by pulling the plug
on experimenting with these different genres... And because of that, our sound has grown beautifully!

 

We're back in that studio, playing in our playground!  Coming to you with a variety of fun/edgy songs, as well as some soft emotional ballads~

As fun and playful as "BIKINI SEASON" sounds....
It can also be quite scary when you're walking around
with a big question mark over your head, wondering
"How in the world am I going to fit in this bikini in time?"

 

Did you ever hear the statement "Eat more to lose weight"?

 

WELL as false as it may sound, this statement is absolutely True.

 

Being singers, we schedule shoots consistently! You'll find us traveling to Palm Springs, Mexico, Vegas, Reno, Beverly Hills, etc.   In fact, right around the corner is a performance/event at the Bahamas.  AND as you may have already noticed... Many of these shoots Require to show a little skin.   Why?  Because the sun's scorching!! Plus we like to feature our fitness as often as we can.

 

For the past 6 years we've been "playing" with so many different formulas to get and keep our bodies toned.

 

And I'll tell you one thing- WE aren't high maintenance girls at all, But our bodies sure are!

 

Within our process of "Learning what works" there were certainly a few tears, a whole lot of sweat, and most importantly a greater amount of Happiness.

 

SO our goal with this blog is to personally reach out, Grab that unnecessary question mark above your head, and break it in half! hehe.

 

OUR TIPS ON TONING UP:

1.) EAT AND EAT OFTEN
Graze throughout the day~ Eat every meal 2 to 2 1/2 hours apart. This is THE MAIN KEY to keep your metabolism rolling on HIGH!
And that's why we put it as number one on this list.
If you allow your body to starve, it will only backfire on you- Your metabolism will slow way down, holding onto whatever
you put in your mouth next, and simply storing it as fat. Resulting in the "SKINNY FAT LOOK."  (Thin body, with a soft/watery
feel.) No fun.


 

2.) DO NOT CARB DEPLET YOUR BODY ( meaning: take out carbs)
If you take out your carbs, your body will then eat your own muscles for fuel, giving you a deflated look & personality,
AND again resulting in that skinny fat look.

 

Eat your complex carbs in the 1st three meals- so you can use them as energy for your workout and day.  AND eat your fibrous carbs
at night so you don't have to worry about not working them off while you're asleep!  REMEMBER..  Carbs= Energy. Energy is what you'll need FOR those workouts.



 

3.) EAT FAT TO LOSE FAT!
Eat a few servings of "GOOD" Fats throughout the day.  These fats, in moderation, will actually trigger your body to shed fat.
You literally need fat to lose it. Sounds false, but is absolutely true!  Plus it gives you good mind power as well... leaving you feeling level
headed throughout the day.  

 

GOOD FATS: Unsalted Natural Peanut Butter, Handful of Organic Almonds, Vegetarian Fed Caged Free Eggs (which contains CLA- Good Fat) Grass Fed Red Meat (Which contains CLA- Good Fat)   Grass Fed organic Butter (which contains CLA, Good Fat)  Avocado.. and more!

CLA is a fat catalist... meaning it will help your body burn fat.



 

4.) WATER & GREEN TEA
Keep that metabolism sky high!  Enough said!   Drink up to flush out toxins in your body.


 

5.) LOSE THE TITLE OF CARDIO QUEEN- AND PICK UP SOME DUMBELLS!
This is One of the biggest tips we've learned through the years!  We were known as the "energizer bunnies" at our old gym... Because
we could keep going and going with cardio. The problem with that is, we broke down our muscles with that much cardio.
ALSO, how can you expect to "build" your body with those beautiful muscles IF you don't pick up a dumbell. Cardio only
makes you smaller... Weight Training IS what tones you up!  No Skinny Fat!!!  Big difference!  PLUS, weight training
AGAIN speeds up that metabolism.  IT'S ALL ABOUT THE METABOLISM. Respect it!  Or else you're just going to keep running in a tired circle.    Make tiny adjustments. Every detail matters!


 

6.) PLAY!
Play dang it!  :)  If you don't like running,, DON'T!  There are SO many options for what you can be doing that leads to a great workout!
AND when you play with those options... you're having fun!
Change things up,, not just for your mind, but to continue shocking your body, so that your body won't hit a plateau.  Jump rope,
Roller skate, Sprint, do Plyometrics (our favorite,)  Run stairs, DO WORKOUT CLASSES (Awesome music and support from others.)
Dance, Go swimming. Circuit Train, Pump iron, Play!   I guarantee there are many exercise activities that will meet your "style."

 

RULE- If you don't like doing it, find a different/comparable activity that you do like.  Be happy.. don't force yourself.



 

7.) DON'T OVERTRAIN~
We STILL have problems with this one!  It's hard to give your all, and wonder could I give more?   If you work your body to the core,
your body breaks down. You get irritable. Your body hurts, and you wake up stiff as ever!  But more importantly you make minimal
progress. Which is no fair for your efforts!  You won't build your body into that pretty curvy toned look if your muscles suffer from
being overworked. Definitely Have a POWERFUL workout in order TO make gains. But learn WHEN to pull the plug!

 

SLEEP!  You'll allow your body to recover.. and THEN you'll see your results of that workout. Your body BEST repairs itself when you're asleep.

8.) CHEAT!  I want you to cheat...
Yes, I said it!  If you deprive yourself from any pleasures in life, you will feel sorry for yourself.
Moderation is key... But that is also a very vague statement, and is often abused.. BECAUSE what exactly is
moderate?   IF you ate clean all week, and had beautiful strong workouts all week,, Have yourself one cheat meal
OR cheat dessert on Saturday!  Studies show This will only SPIKE your metabolism, and work in your favor!  Wow,,, what a concept!



 

9.) A GLASS OF RED WINE A DAY, KEEPS THE FAT AWAY
We, for some reason, don't have much of a taste for alcohol. However..Studies do show
IF you team up a glass of read wine with Veges and Protein, it can actually speed up the Calorie Burn!  Cheers to that!




 

10.) DRESS SEXY- when you put something good on, you feel good. And when you feel good- you skip to the gym :)  Just saying~

This is in the same category of PLAY. Make sure you're having fun. Otherwise you'll feel suffocated! 

 

11.) FITNESS IS NOT JUST A "BODY WAR," IT'S A "MIND WAR." We STILL have this small tiny fear that hits us before we step into that gym. It's normal, we're human!   Because we KNOW in order to make gains, you do have to feel a little discomfort when it comes to working out. GET YOUR MIND IN THAT RIGHT ZONE! And this goes with everything in life.  We're all embedded with fear systems..> But we all ALSO have that Super Hero in us that can push through ANYTHING.  Think with the glass half full!  

 

Even if you walked 15 minutes on the treadmill..> YOU ARE A SUCCESS.... WHY?  Because you ARE doing it!  There's no "in between" with fitness.
Either you do it OR you don't.  Applaud yourself for doing it!

IF you're a "Creature of Habit" or the "Queen of Routine," Then you might as well
add one more title to your name....... A Baby.

 

I'm seriously being light hearted about this, However it is a subject one should
think about.
I think we ALL can fall under this category often, especially if we don't monitor
it thoroughly throughout our day to day lives.....

 

The Verdict?
We are all victims to comfort.

 

And comfort is the biggest indulgence we can give ourselves.
Too much of a good thing can still be a bad thing.

 

You may find yourself saying, "Life is Good." But if life is so good, then why aren't you happy? Because you're lacking adventure!  And adventure is anything different than your usual routine of life.

 

It can be as big as Bungee jumping to as little as cooking with a new recipe for dinner tonight. Both activities will make you feel alive.  Why? Cause feeling alive is simply living. And TRULY living is making choices.  And Boy do we have many options in life- yet we choose to do the same things day in and day out.

 

SO,,, Is it really "comfort" or is it the "uncomfortable" Fear that's locking us inside these walls of routine?  Again... Baby.

 

So,, do something different TODAY.  At least one thing to remind yourself you are wide open free. And I promise you'll come to life. Because you will then unleash different emotions by just tackling new territories-
Unleashing the REAL YOU- Unfiltered and Unedited.

 

Then life will not only be good,,, It will be so good, you'll sleep like a baby  :)

STOP WITH THIS AGE THING. EVERYBODY WE RUN ACROSS THAT STATES THEY ARE in their MID TWENTIES OR UP, ALWAYS FOLLOWS WITH THE STATEMENT "I KNOW, I'M OLD"  

Mid twenties... old?  Upper twenties, or even upper thirties.... OLD?  Where is the self love? 

 

The problem here is... They MAY be growing up (it's inevitable)  But their mind sets aren't.  They're still stuck with this superficial ignorant state of thinking, like they once did when they were "young."

 

A year older IS a year older, sure... But a year older could also mean a year FULLER. A year wiser, a year happier, only IF you start to pay attention.  Life does goes on- We DO grow.. but your mind should too.

 

So,,, Mature. Smash that clock above your head, and truly look around. Breath in, and appreciate the air in your lungs, appreciate the fact you met another day. APPRECIATE the knowledge you have gained by living here for however long you were living. Wisdom is a powerful thing. Wisdom is in relation to happiness. And Happiness is sexy. Take care of yourself, respect yourself.  You know what you want by now, So follow your built in instructions on how to make YOU happy. You've learned that by now. Don't neglect yourself. Cause then you will "age" feeling empty. I'd rather you "Grow" feeling fulfilled.
