Hello folks,

Just wanted to give you an update on what's going on at Big Shindig Media. I've been in business about a year now and couldn't be prouder of the folks I get to work with and with everything they've done this year. Currently, I'm working on tour press for the Steep Canyon Rangers. They're touring all over the place, so try to catch a show if they come near you!

Sarah Siskind is on her way to Europe today for the first time ever! She'll be opening up for Bon Iver in Ireland, England, and Belgium over the next week or so. Then, she'll head back to Ireland to hang out and write with Paul Brady for a few days.

Songs From The Road Band are releasing their new album As The Crow Flies. It's the 2nd volume of the Asheville-area sideband of local musicians. Ch-ch-check out the album or a live show if you can! They have a few CD release shows coming up in NC this month.

Robby Hecht just returned from a big trip to Texas and beyond playing house concerts, bars, coffee shops, and whatnot. He had a big summer of festivals, so I'm sure we'll see him having a big 2009. He'll be heading to Celtic Connections in 2009, which is very exciting news for Robby!

Computer vs. Banjo are busy as heck as always. They're working on new music for a few advertising campaigns. If you missed it, they were on WRLT Nashville's Music Business Radio show, which is an hour show learning about how that particular guest has found success/hardship in the music industry. It was way cool.

Shannon Whitworth is working on a new album with a little more modern sound to it. You can hear a few clips of that on her myspace or my website. She's touring, playing, writing, and making lots of pottery in the mountains of North Carolina.

And that'll keep everyone updated for now! We now have an intern here at Big Shindig Media and hope to take on a few new projects in the new year. We may even (gasp!) stop working from home and move into a real office. Stay tuned!

Cheers~

Hey folks,

There are many shows you don't want to miss in 2008, but starting off..

Ring in the new year with the Steep Canyon Rangers, Del McCoury Band, Ronnie Bowman, Jon Fishman (of Phish), and Drew Emmitt & Vince Herman(of Leftover Salmon)
Get your tickets here. That's where we'll be ringing in 2008!

Mark your calendar for January 11th because Old Black Kettle will be having their official CD release party @ the Station Inn! This will sell out, so get their early. Take your mom, in-laws, whoever! It's going to be a fantastic night of listening. Did I mention they finally have a CD you can actually take home with you??? It's lovely.

Sarah Siskind is also going to be a little more electrified on January 31st at 3rd & Lindsley. She'll be with her trio playing some new stuff she's been working on. Hang around after Sarah's set because one of our favorites - Megan McCormick - will be following her.

Ok. That's all for now. Happy 2008 everyone!

Good morning folks!

It's Emilee here. I'm super excited to let you know that I've started Big Shindig Media. 'What is Big Shindig Media?' you ask. Well, I'll be doing mostly publicity for artists that I really like to listen to and see live. I'll do some odds and ends work... booking a showcase here... pimping out a myspace page there... setting up their CDBaby stuff. As much as I love musicians, most of them are better off continuing to create their art and letting someone else handle a lot of the business details. That's where I come in! I guess you could call Big Shindig Media an artist relations firm specializing in publicity and new media promotions. That would be my Webster definition of it.

Anywho, my current clients are the Steep Canyon Rangers (yay!) and GRAMMY nominated Sarah Siskind. I couldn't be prouder of both of these acts. They are both SUPER talented and I'm excited to be working with them.

Anyway, I have a cold and I'm supposed to march in the Christmas parade here in downtown Nashville tonight. If you're there, look for the Macy's Christmas stocking balloon... I'll be carrying it with some girlfriends.

Alas, I hope each of you is getting in the holiday spirit. I know I am. Feel free to let me know if you're interested in having someone (like me) work for you and/or if you have any questions! My e-mail is emilee@bigshindigmedia.com.

CHEERS!
