Day 6 - Guilin:
So we got up quite early to get the flight from Guanzhou to Guilin....
Arriving there we where blasted by the amazing wildlife all over the city. You know, those huge rock mountains sticking outa the ground. Out of nowhere...crazy!
The hotel was quite Ghetto...all in all the part of town was like China when we came the first time in 2006.
The Club was in the 3rd floor and kinda old school chinese style with the paper/wood windows. Pretty cool.
We had two Screamo/HC bands open for us. Which I thought both where quite cool.
As we started both floors where packed, the moshpit was more than anyone could imagen, the stage was about to break into pieces and we got in quite a good mood!!
As INDEPENDENT Trucks support our tour - we had some give aways for every stop. And how could you better decide who should get it, but challanging Patty in chuging a beer?!?!?
Had a 'very chilled' hangout with the bar owner (U.S) and his friends... great time! GUILIN ROCKS!!
Day 7 - Changsha:
Arrived in Changsha by train, then went to the COCO-BAR by cab. Checked sound, spent more money at Subway than for all the food of the first week...and checked in to one of the coolest Hotels of China!
The show itselfe was kinda wierd...had to play 2 sets. One accoustic, one real.
Both where cool, although mike couldn't realy sing or talk at all cause he lost his voice the night before.
After the show we went out for dinner with some lokals and a guy who traveled a few hundred km's only to see us twice this year! What a spirit!!
Day 8 - Huai Hua:
This unpronounceable city is barly big enough to make it on a chinese map. Only a few hundredtousand...
Quite Ghetto again...the hotel in a back alley, the bar eaven further back. A shop infront that only sold condoms... whatever...!
During soundcheck there already where about 40 spectators...so the show only could be better!
And so it was. Packed to the sealing, both rooms!
Props to the opening band...if I only could remember there name...
Mostly blinded by the almost anoying flashes from the girls in the front row, we played a defenitly fun show. Luckily they had to stop taking pictures now and then cause some crazy chinese dude smashed the into or on to the stage...kind of a release for our eye-sight.
Quite an amazing sciene for such a small place, but hey!! Eaven after being here the 3rd time - you still get suprised. Day for day!!
Day 9 - Chongqing:
Got up an hour to late, but still way to early... and only to sit in a god damn 9 hour train. Wonderfull.
After sharing lunch with the cock-roaches in the train we finaly made it to the city.
We had an hour to get from the train station on stage...so we all where in a great mood.
Luckily the Hotel was abouve the club so we had a minute to wash up and so...
In the club we met some Americans. With a beer-bong!! Finaly a way to get drunk sufficiantly in China!
The show sucked, bad sound, bad mood...whatever, took of with the U.S guys after the show.
Went to a crazy Techno club and then - FINALY - to a Karaoke Bar! Drank all the booze they had and partied hard. Realy hard... Think we broke quite an amount of laws that night. On our way back the cab driver couldn't find the hotel, so I got in his face quite a bit. At the end we found it, but he insisted on us not paying...! Works for me...
Day 10 - Chengdu:
After having breakfast at DICO's (....) - a chinese McDonalds kinda thing, we went to Chengdu by Bus. Only a few hours...luckily!!
Arrived at the Little Bar - 3rd year, 3rd time - and where stocked to be there. We knew it would get crazy there...so everyone was quite excited.
Had a TV interview before the show...I'd give my little finger for a date with the comentator...sorry to mention that....!
The bar was packed - from front to back and inside to out!
Amazing!! Wish every place could be like Chengdu!!
Took us an hour to finish all the pictures, sign the autographs and chill with everyone who wanted to...well me at least.
Got a bunch of nice gifts from a bunch of nice people! Thanks for that!
Had two Birthday kids who we celebrated with before we left...both where close to tears as we had to pack up!
Got in a night train and luckily where able to traid our seats for some beds...! Thank you god!
Day 12 - Xi An:
Arrived in Xi An more or less rested. Had to take a cab from the south-station to downtown. Took a Hyjet...us 6 all the luggage and the driver...max. speed 60km/h...80km/h downhill.
Arriving at the venue - once again we got surprised! The owner of the bar was a good old friend - who owned the first club we played in, came to the second show and defenitly did his best in getting us as fucked up as possible...year for year.
The warm welcom in the new bar ended with him showing us a porn of himself which he made a few weeks ago...on that very same pool table we just all rested our tired bodies on....uuuuuuuuuuuaaaaaaaaah......!
So - the stage was set up, we cleaned our stinky bodies in the hotel and it was time for soundcheck. Which we stoped after 15 Minutes cause of lack of translation....what so ever....the support band got things right.
The club filled within minutes and as it was our turn to play - it was packed. Nearly everyone in the first rows got there knee-caps poped out from getting slamed into the stage. Massiv mosh pit and a shit load of fun....
Met a bunch of cool kids from Chicago...unfortunatly we had to leave and catch the night-train, cause the flight was cancelled. Screw that!!!
Got a case of beer and hit the trainstation. Once again - Xi An - the place to be!!
Day 13 - Bejing:
Once again we hit the Mao-lifehouse...this time for the anual Independent Punkrock-Festival...
The line-up was massiv - 7 Bands - including the top of Bejings Pop-Punk bands....RECYCLE and SKO.Unfortunatly nobody realy wanted to go out that night...so this great venue once again only got half full....But who gives a fuck?!?!?! We came on stage around midnight. Had a few beers and rocked the shit out of the place.
Thanks to INDEPENDENT Trucks for all your support on this tour.....!!
DAY 14 - SHANGHAI:
Arrived Shanghai-Airport a bit late and had to hurry to soundcheck...same venue as last time, same owner as every year. Dude was wearing a Gap1328 longsleeve - which Stephan gave him back in 2006...great fellow!
Nobody was very confident about the night....cause it was Monday and the support band had to cancell. After 9pm though - the place started getting quite packed. And after we finished the interview with China's number one Music Mag ".....forgot the name...sorry" it venue was nearly packed.
So....let's rock and roll!! One and a half hours of Punk should of been enough I figure?!?! The people loved it. Bunch of Germans, Americans, Chinese and even a Japanese dude who downloaded all our stuff and sung song for song by heart...! Thanks for that! Everyone...
After that we partied hard with the Germans and the bar owner....cause the last show the following night unfortunatly had to be cancelled...
Patty and Mike gave us an amazing Lip-Sink preformance to the "Backstreet boys" and the boss tried to get us drunk on Asbach Uralt.....he tried.
Great night - great tour. Thanks to everyone who supported us here. This time and every other year before that.
Thanks to all our old and new friends - without you guys none of this would be possible....!
And thanks for reading this....! If you did.
