The very same week as the release of our new album "New Sensation" Don Juan Dracula will be appearing at the Hove Festival in Arendal in the southern parts of Norway.
We promise you that this releaseparty will be the best DJD-show ever, with tons of surprises.

We are currently finishing up the mixing of the album, and we're confident you will all be blown away by the new tracks and the incredible sound on the new album!

The first two single tracks from the new upcoming Don Juan Dracula album is now available here at MySpace for your listening pleasure!

The tracks are called New Sensation and Shotgun. Both songs will be on our upcoming album, also called New Sensation, which will be released in Norway on the 23rd of June 2008!

Shotgun is mixed by Ed Buller who have worked with amazing acts like Pulp, Suede, Slowdive and Spiritualized earlier on. New Sensation is mixed by Stephen Hague, who you might know produced "West End Girls" by Pet Shop Boys, as well as "True Faith" by New Order. He has also worked with bands like A-ha and OMD. All of which are amongst our favorite bands in the worlds! We feel really lucky that these guys wanted to work with us on this! Thanks a lot!

Stay tuned here the next couple of weeks, for download-links to exclusive remixes of both songs. We have some great people doing remixes as we speak, what we have heard so far sounds amazing!

Swedish producer Johan Agebjørn is the man behind one of last years best releases, Sally Shapiros great album Disco Romance. Now he has found new use for his producing skills, with this hauting and superb Italo Disco remix of "Take Me Home". Sally herself is also present here with some mesmerizing back-up vocals.

The Sally Shapiro debut album Disco Romance was released in the USA this past October on Paper Bag Records. She has been one of the most blogged about artists for more than the last year. This February Sally Shapiro is also releasing two 12" singles, "Jackie, Jackie" and "Spacer Woman from Mars".

This exclusive remix will be available on the Australian, New Zealand and Japanese versions of our debut album released later this spring. Along with a fresh tracklisting with some new versions for the International market.

We are currently still recording and mixing the follow-up album which will be released later this year. More news about the forthcoming album and some sneak peaks of new tracks will be announced soon.

The Norwegian fashion designers Arne & Carlos have just released their 2008 spring and summer collection. And instead of a traditional runway show restricted to a hand full of the fashion industry as an audience, they have made a fantastic film and website to show their new collection for everyone to see.

The result is a collaboration between some of the best film makers, 3D animators, graphic and web designers Norway has to offer, and we are honored to have been hand picked by Arne & Carlos to add music to the film and their brand new website.

The music featured in the film is an adapted instrumental version of the song "The Night" which will be found on our forthcoming new album scheduled for release in 2008.

You can watch the film and listen to a brand new DJD song here: www.arne-carlos.com

"Our New Favourite Band: Don Juan Dracula" Tony Fletcher's iJamming

Complete review CMJ 2006

CMJ is sadly over. We had a great time checking out new bands, but most of all we had a fantastic gig at Pianos. More photos and details to come!

Here are some reviews of our CMJ showcase:

The divinely silly Don Juan Dracula kicked off the proceedings with an overload of lo-fi flashiness, doing an OK Go-like synchronized "boy band" dance and ending their set shooting flames out of their guitars. Don Juan's new romantic synth-glam is fun enough on its own, but when augmented by matching white suits, a keytar, and the aforementioned shenanigans, it achieved levels of Darkness-like glory.
Pitchfork review

Don Juan Dracula where on fire
Pitchform CMJ wrapup

Don Juan Dracula opened up, and they will now be your new secret obsession. With uptempo synth rock, these guys put on quite a show. Dressed in all white suits/wife-beaters, they have style and substance. The lead singer takes his job as a showman quite seriously - and has a little Simon Le Bon in him. He went into the crowd to sing and to dance and posed for pictures with fans while singing and dancing. At one point he says that they are a boy band and dress like a boy band and like a boy band, they have a dance. So the keyboardist puts on this early 80's synth line, and the other three line up and do this choreographed groove. Unreal. And this wasn't even the highlight! The moment of the show goes to the bassist and lead singer/guitarist lighting sparklers that were attached to the neck of their guitars. That's showmanship!
