Current mood:  hopeful

I think I resent winter. I don't like the mess our modern urbanized life makes of it. The slushy, icey sidewalks and roads.... always second guessing your balance.... cold wet shoes.... the chill that goes right through you when you're least ready for it, like when you're pumping gas for a car that needs fixing but of course the money's not there.

And yet there are times when I can embrace the cold air and really enjoy the season. It's exhilarating. Because I'm warm and toasty in layer upon layer of wintery garb. Yeah, this isn't so bad.

I hope everyone can stay warm and sane this winter. Let's hope for peace and understanding where there is none. Peace and understanding for us all on the inside and on the outside. Let's all snuggle up and keep each other warm.

Tom Woodward of Enfiled CT left us to carry on without him.

He was a beautiful person, full of sweet wonderful music. Tom

always asked me to accompany him on guitar

when he played his songs at open mics. He wrote out the lyrics to

one of his songs for me.... but I don't know if there is any recording of

him playing and singing.... What a loss.... I had played with him

this past  Wednesday night. The accident was on Thursday. Now, he's

gone. Cherish your people...

lyrics for "canyons of san diego"

in the canyons of san diego

where the rich people live

up in their mansions high on the ridge

you go down the trail and

you push till it gives

in the canyons of san diego

where the rich people live

an immigrant child

is born full of grace

an immigrant child

with a smile on his face

thank you sweet baby

for the burdens you bear

in the canyons of san diego

when no love is there

herod did say to the children so born

if you're not in our favor

then you will be scorned

and from this sweet land

you will be torn

in the canyons of san diego

where the rich people live

an immigrant child is born

full of grace

an immigrant child with

a smile on his face

thank you sweet baby for the burdens

you bear

in the canyons of san diego

when no love is there

we all come from someplace

someplace not here

running from madness

running from fear

how couldn't you forget so easily my dear

in the canyons of san diego

where the rich people live

an immigrant child is born full of grace

an immigrant child with smile on his face

thank you sweet baby for the burdens you bear

in the canyons of san diego

when no love is there

an immigrant child is born full of grace

an immigrant child with a smile on his face

thank you sweet baby

for the burdens you bear

in the canyons of san diego

when no love is there

Beacon

well she woke up in the morning

everything had changed

her eyes were wide open

but nothing was the same

she looked around her room

ended staring up at the ceiling

she wasn't sure exactly

exactly what she was feeling

"she's a beacon

radiating

she's a transformer too

she's a miracle in so many colors

she waiting for you waiting for you waiting for you

waiting for you"

well she got out of bed

stood up on her own two feet

held her hands out in front of her

she felt that she could even speak

volumes and volumes

of things she knew that she knew

it's just kind a' slippery information

very hard to hold on to

"she's a beacon

radiating

she's a transformer too

she's a miracle in every single color

it's all waiting for you waiting for you

waiting for you"

she felt something

she hadn't felt in a long time

it was a smile caressing her lips

she felt it moving through her body

it was coming out of her fingertips

so she dressed for the occasion

there was the memory of pain

she steps outside into the sunshine

into the sunshine of the pouring rain

"she's a beacon

radiating

she's a transformer too

she's a miracle she picks

her own damn colors

she's waiting for you waiting for you

waiting for you"

well her feet hardly hit the pavement

they hardly hit the soles of her shoes

i guess that's the way it is when you've

lost everything

you've got nothing else to lose

"you are a beacon

radiating

you are a transformer too

you are a miracle in every living color

it's all waiting for you waiting you

we are beacons we're

radiating

we are transformers too

we are miracles in every single

color

it's all waiting for you waiting for you

waiting for you"
