Hola amigos,

We are super excited about the release of our brand new CD 'Calithump'. It will be available at all of our shows and through CD Baby as of July 4. We will do an official CD release a little later in the summer, but for now we just wanted to let you know it will be available at shows. We have posted 4 new songs on the jukebox here on MySpace so go by and have a listen.

Hope you dig it.

Cheers,
Tom and the P'boys

Hola Amigos,

It has been far too long since we have posted an update and I do apologize for that.

OK, so the most exciting news we have is that we will have a brand new CD very soon! The record will be called 'Callithump' and we will be releasing it late this spring or early this summer.

We are putting the finishing touches on it now, and are super excited about the way it is coming together. It is an ambitious project which fuses our love of Irish, Mexican, Bluegrass, Ska, Latin, Soul and African music. Producer Joby Baker has been instrumental in shaping the sound of the record which includes the use of jaranas, guitars, banjos, whistles, flutes, pump organs, a four piece horn section, piano, fiddle, mandolin, drums, bass, cajon, tin cans, a garbage bin and of course lots of singing. We will let you know the second it is available.

We will be touring in support of this CD all summer and fall. Our tours will take us all over North America and Europe. Please check out our tour dates.

We will also be doing a spring tour of Ireland, Northern Ireland and England from May 2 to May 17th. I really hope you make it to one of these shows. Below is the schedule of that tour.

We will be taking on more North American dates once the CD is released and for all of you 'out east; we promise to make it out there as soon as possible. In the meantime you can check out the ton of videos on Youtube including our video of 'Fall Down With You' which had over 51,500 views last time I checked. Crazy!

I hope you are all keeping well, healthy and happy as a horse eating thistles.

Peace to you all,
t~ and the p'boys

Hey all,

Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa, Peaceful Solstice, Groovy Festivus! Whatever you celebrate, we hope it's a good one.

Have a great holiday season and a rocking New Year's Eve.

A reminder we will be at The Tractor in Seattle on December 28 and 29 for a post Christmas party. It's also Tom's Birthday bash, so come down for the festivities. We will then be in Jazzbones Tacoma for New Year's Eve.

2008 will see us back in the UK, Ireland and Germany in the spring time. Stay tuned for dates.

Thanks for all your singing, hooting and hollering in 07. Ya'll rock!

Hi all,

First I wanted to say thanks to all of you who came out to our recent shows in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Germany. The tour was a great success and the band had an amazing time. We made some great friends and played some really funky places.

One of the highlights was recording for The Blackstaff Sessions on BBC TV. The show will air sometime between January and March. We will keep you posted and let you know when it will air.

Ireland's RTE was also very supportive of the band and recorded our show at The Seamus Ennis Ctr. Once again we will keep you posted on airing dates.

We weren't back a day from Europe when we got on another flight to head for California. Thanks to all of you who came to those shows. It was good to be down in the land of palm tress and sunny weather. We are hoping to be back again in early 2008.

We are very excited about all the Pacific Northwest shows coming up. We have been gone a while and it will be great to get back to our old haunts. Please check the schedule as there were some recent changes. We will be at Jazzbones in Tacoma for New Years, and The Tractor on Dec 28 and 29 (My birthday weekend!).

Next weekend we will be at Berbatis in Portland on November 24 and The Triple Door in Seattle on November 23. It will be a great way to spend Thanksgiving.

We have been writing a bunch of new songs for an upcoming CD. We hope to record over the winter months and finish off in spring. With some luck we will have the new CD very soon.

As always we appreciate all your support and love hearing from you either by email or by leaving us a comment. Hope to see you at a show soon.

Cheers,
t- and the p'boys

At long last a much overdue newsletter/bulletin. I try to write these
as often as possible, but then life sometimes unfolds all around you
and you find yourself living it to the fullest and wishing you had
more hours in a day to get everything done.

It has been a great summer and I have enjoyed every minute of
sunshine, every note, every drink and every laugh. We have been down
many roads as of late and it never ceases to amaze me the kindness and
warmth of people when we reached our destination. We are a lucky band
with the world's greatest supporters and friends.

TOUR DATES: OK, so there are a bunch of things I want to let you know
about so I will start with tour dates. As always, dates are constantly
added to our never ending schedule, so don't wait to receive these
newsletters. Check back frequently for added dates.

I just finished adding the latest dates to our calendar and I am so
psyched for what we have coming up. Upcoming highlights for me include
a return visit to Portland (Yay! Finally!) a return to The Tractor in
Seattle, a fall tour of Germany, a return to Northern Ireland and
first time visits to Pithlockery Scotland and The Republic of Ireland.
We also have one date in England and will soon be adding more.

FRIENDS: Speaking of England we are stoked about our friends Miles
Hunt and Erica Nockalls coming to America to open up for us at a bunch
of shows in September. You may know Miles from his work with The
Wonder Stuff. They will be supporting us on all dates from September
7th to September 16th. Check them out on MySpace at
http://www.myspace.com/theactualmileshunt

WHEN ARE YOU COMING TO BOSTON: Many of you have been asking about
dates in Eastern US and Canada as well as more dates outside the
Pacific Northwest. Truth is we would love to return to tour all
throughout the US and the rest of Canada. Unfortunately, financially
it doesn't make much sense for us at the moment. We are not giving up
yet though and are always keeping our eyes and ears open for anchor
dates we could build a tour around.

WHEN DOES THE NEW CD COME OUT: On the recording front, we are hoping
to record this fall for a release next spring. At the moment we have
been writing new material and if you have been to any shows lately you
have heard a few of the new tunes.

MUSICAL CHAIRS: If you have been to a show in the last couple of
months you might have noticed the absence of both Geoffrey and Kendel.
Geoff has been busy touring with his band Spirit of the West and
Kendel has spent the summer playing with Outlaw Social as well as
working hard on her solo career. She has been touring in support of
her CD all over the US and Europe. We miss both of them of course, and
wish they could be at all the shows, however we realize that they have
other ambitions they need to pursue.

Having said that I strongly believe all the shows have rocked with
their replacements as well as the addition of the horn section. Both Kenny and Geoff will be with us this weekend when we play at the Blues and Roots Festival in Salmon Arm.

MAIL AND COMMENTS: We love to get mail (who doesn't really?)and we encourage to leave us a message on our message board or if you are not the PDA type then email us at thepaperboys@gmail.com

Hope you are all well and enjoying your summer. As I said earlier, we appreciate your support and never take ya'll for granted. Hope to see you at a show soon.

Peace,
Tom

Happy V Day ya'll,

Wanted to give you a wee update on news and gigs. I have posted all the gigs we have booked right up to June. There will be more gigs added to both our German and UK dates so check back with us. We will also be touring in Ireland for the first time this spring. We will keep you posted on dates there as they are booked.

We've had a little over a month off since New Year's Eve and did our first gig back last weekend up here in Vancouver. It was a celebration for the upcoming Olympics. We are headed for Seattle and Tacoma this weekend and will be gigging non stop from now until September.

During our month off I went down to Mexico to film a video for the song 'Fragile'. The video will be posted here and our website as well as YouTube as of next week.

We captured a lot of the essence of Mexico by filming it's gorgeous architecture and it's beautiful people. It was mostly filmed in the city of Morelia which is about 4 hours from Mexico City. The video was directed by 'Fall Down With You' director Thaddeus Grant Fenton.

Lastly, We are so happy to inform you that the tribute CD to our dear friend Paul 'Lolly' Lawton is now out and available from our friends at cdbaby. http://cdbaby.com/cd/paullollylawton

As many of you know, Lolly was our drummer for over 6 years and we sadly lost him to a tragic accident in the summer of 2005.

In addition to being a wonderful human being and a fantastic drummer, Lolly was a phenomenal songwriter. Lucky for us he left recordings of his songs on several mini discs. They were lovely versions recorded by him with just a voice and guitar.

Over the months of November and December we re-recorded all of these songs as well as adding some tracks to the existing voice and guitar.

The cast of musicians who recorded his music were all people that Lolly played music with over the years and include The Paperboys, Rob Bracken, Andy Collins, Tim Readman, Big Head Project and Cody Westman.

It is a wonderful CD, we hope you pick one up.

More details on him, his charities, the CD and his life can be found on his website at www.paullawton.ca

Hope you are all keeping well. We look forward to seeing you out there on the road. I know there is a lot of cities we are not playing and we are working on trying to get out to as many places as possible. We appreciate your emails and messages asking us to come play in your town or city. With a little luck we will be there soon. Until we see you, take care.

Happy New Year! - January 4, 2007

Hola Amigos.

Happy New Year ya'll! Hope Double 07 is treating you well so far.
We had a great ol' time ringing in the New Year at Jazzbones in Tacoma.
We missed our dear flautist extraordinaire Geoffrey but the 4 of us made up for his absence with a lot of energy and full throated passion.

We had a stellar year and we are grateful to you, our friends, for supporting us and what we do.

Our biggest delight has come from our video being in the Top Ten countdown on MuchMoreMusic for over a month. It reached #4 a couple of weeks ago and it is still charting. You can keep us there by voting for us on their web site. http://www.muchmoremusic.com/top10/

2007 will see us globetrotting throughout America, Europe and hopefully Asia. We are planning on making another CD in the late spring with a hopeful release in the fall. The summer will be spent playing every festival that will have us.

We are taking the month of January off except for filming a video for Fragile which we will do in the next week or so. We will resume our playing schedule in mid February.

I wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks for all the encores, hooting and hollering, paying the cover charge, traveling a fair way to see us, smiling, singing along, buying our CDs, buying us a round, feeding us, giving us a place to sleep and for generally being the best fans a band could ask for.

We'll see you out there soon.

cheers,
Tom and the P'boys

Paperboys VS Nickelback

Hey everybody,

We have some great news. Our video for 'Fall Down With You' has been added to the playlist on MuchMoreMusic (Canada's Answer to VH1, only cooler) Presently we are on medium rotation but with your help we can get the video played a lot more.

So here is your chance to help us, and at the same time knock down Nickelback and Christina Aguilera from their top ten countdown. Common, we know you've had it with Chad Kroegers voice and Maddona's skanky videos and would much rather see us on the top 10.

Please go to: http://www.muchmoremusic.com/top10/

Just scroll down, find our name and click on our video.

You can also request the video by emailing them at: muchmoremail@muchmoremusic.com

We really appreciate your support. Thank You.
