Friends of Benjamin A. Harper and The Comfies,
a few nights ago, Ben's house was broken in to and he was robbed of every guitar he owns, a digital multitrack workstation, and various other pieces of recording/music gear and electronics.  Multiple thousands of dollars worth of equipment have been lost.
There was no insurance to cover any of this.
Sam Smith, Former Comfies drummer and long time friend set up a way to help Ben get back some of what he lost.

Donate if you can and/or pass along/tweet/facebook, etc...this and help Ben continue to make music.

click if you'd like to help!

Thanks, and we'll keep you posted

Friends,
I love you all and I hope you enjoy the new EP entitled
The Comfies Present:
Benjamin A. Harper in
This Ship Is Going Down

It's the first in a series of EPs that I plan on releasing in as quick succession as possible...
Please help me by downloading the EP and telling all your friends to download it!
You can download the EP at The Comfies bandcamp page:
www.thecomfies.bandcamp.com

The EP is available for free using the name your own price option (no minimum amount) If it's a money issue, I'd rather let someone have the music than not...
however, it sure would be great to show your support for indie artists by paying for music ($5 sounds good, a dollar a song isn't bad, eh?)

The EP will also be available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon and pretty much every other digital store.

You can buy an actual CD at Grimey's in Nashville (starting July 16) or directly from me (I'll have a link up soon)

If you'd like to help promote, you can spread the bandcamp link (www.thecomfies.bandcamp.com) and/or embed the bandcamp player on your myspace page or personal site using the "share" tool on bandcamp.

Thanks so much for listening!
love forever,
-Benjamin A. Harper

PS-stay tuned for the next 2 EPs... I'll be sure to keep you posted.

So a couple mornings ago, my old friend Jason from Lakefever Productions called me and asked me if I'd like to come in a record a demo.  Of course, I jumped at the chance.
So the song "you remain invisible" was recorded all in one night with me on all instruments.  It was a lot of fun and I hope you like the results!

The Comfies conquered the studio yesterday, laying these 5 songs down-

Inaction
This Ship Is Going Down!
All By Myself
Ascent Summer
Cool Cool Spring

We hope to get a few more done in the near future.

It's an exciting and creative time for us, so stay tuned for more. We had a video camera that caught some funny and strange stuff, but we don't know how to use computers (working on it....these pics are all from the video footage...) so any help would be most appreciated. Happy b-day to me.

don't forget about this...THIS THURSDAY-

Hey friends! We hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday.

We're back on the scene this week with tracks on the current CD samplers in CMJ NEW MUSIC MONTHLY magazine, PASTE, and MAGNET too. Check them out!

Check our concert calendar for several new shows in January as we hit the road with The Melismatics. We'll be playing some northern cities that we've never played before, so spread the word and plan a road trip if you're nearby!

Our ATLANTA, GA fans can catch us performing on live television this Wednesday morning on Fox News' "Good Day Atlanta." Set your alarm and we'll start your day off right.

The next night, Thursday the 30th, we're rocking THE EARL in Atlanta with Casper & the Cookies and Mary O'Harrison. 9:30pm - $7 - 21+ *

Stay tuned for more news and announcements, including a special holiday gift we're preparing just for you guys.

love,
The Comfies

* this is all assuming that Ben recovers from his nasty stomach virus that bit him this morning. Leave a comment for sick Ben and hopefully he'll be all better soon!

No joke. Make the drive.

In other news, our friends at Filmspotting have selected us as their featured artist this week. Check out their podcast for reviews of some sweet new movies like The Prestige and an interview with Todd Field, director of Little Children.

More press is rolling in for the CLOSE TO ME EP and we can't thank you enough for your support. Pick up your copy and call those local college station and help us stay on the charts!

And we're still working on fixing our messaging / commenting features, so please be patient and know we're not ignoring you. We love you more than ever.

See you Friday!
