This was quite a weekend for TRB. We played 2 shows, broke a key on my keyboard, blew out a tire on the trailer, and managed to cut the cord that gives power to the lights and brakes on said trailer. Aside from the unintentional destruction of selected pieces of equipment, we did enjoy 2 great shows, and we thank all of you that came out to either of them. It's so much more fun when you're there!
The best part of the whole weekend, however, might just have been our trip to Dreamland on Sunday. Yes, TRB paid a visit to the original Dreamland in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and we all consumed more than our fair share of their delectable and legendary barbeque ribs. We were also afforded the honor of having a TRB sticker placed on the door of the restaurant. I will upload a copy of the picture for your enjoyment asap.
....After taking this picture, I began to wonder what other places have been decorated with our stickers, which brings me to the whole purpose for this blog: we want to see where you folks decided to put your stickers! So, take a picture with your camera (or, if you are like me and don't have one, your phone works just fine), and e-mail these artistic renderings to theraybrothers@gmail.com. We will post any unusual ones here on the blog for you guys to see, and if you send something really cool, you might just get a prize (you never can tell...).

The Ray Brothers will be at The Smokehouse in downtown Florence Saturday, May 17. The band will begin playing at 9 or 10. There is a $5 cover, but we don't think they charge before 8 pm so get there early and save yourself a place up front to rock out with us. Timmy and Lee have both written awesome new originals that will be played live for the first time. See you there!

The Ray Brothers would like to thank you so much for your support in the finals of the battle of the bands at the Legacy on Wednesday. We were absolutely blown away. You guys are the reason we won, and we thoroughly appreciate you.
In fact, you guys set a new record for crowd response (breaking the one you set just last week) with a consistent reading of 113.1 decibels, and rumor has it that when you guys started cheering, it hit 120 decibels. That is unbelievable!
I took the liberty of looking it up in the Federal Agency Review of Selected Airport Noise Analysis Issues published by the Federal Interagency Committee on Noise (sounds like an exciting read if you have some free time), and 120 decibels is a little louder than a turbo-fan aircraft at take-off power, or it is 32 times as loud as your average vacuum cleaner. Ridiculous.
So to thank you, we have decided to do 2 things:
1. We are going to throw a free concert in your honor! Yes, on April 18th, 2008 at 8 pm, we are going to play a free concert on the top level of the parking deck in downtown Florence in honor of all of you. You won’t want to miss this. You can pick up a copy of our cd for the first time that night as well.
2. We are going to put a new song up on our myspace. So make sure you go check us out at www.myspace.com/raybros. We would love to be your friend if we aren’t already, and let us know what you think of the new song!
Well, thanks for reading this blog, but most of all, thanks for being loud!
You guys are fantastic.

Hello TRB Family, Just reminding everyone to come out the The Legacy on the Strip this Wednesday, April 2 to cheer on The Ray Brothers in the Final Round of the Battle of the Bands. Our crowds have been AMAZING in the past two rounds and you are the main reason we have made it this far in the competition. We want you to join us and make the final round one to remember. The winner is chosen by crowd volume after all the bands are finished playing and we want to BREAK the decible meter! We hope to see all our old and new friends out. The Ray Brothers take the stage at 12:00 midnight, so be ready for a party. Huge thanks to all our fans and supporters.

After months of hard work, The Ray Brothers’ first record is finally finished!
We put the last touches on it Friday at about 3:30 am, and after a brief battle with my computer, we sent it off to be printed. We can’t wait for you to hear it, so we are going to start posting new songs until the album releases on April 18th.
(Speaking of April 18th...we want to take this opportunity to invite each and every one of you to our album release show on April 18th. It will be on the top level of the downtown parking deck in Florence, AL, behind Ricatoni’s. It will begin at 8 pm. We will be playing selections from the album, and most importantly, it will be your first opportunity to purchase it! We hope to see all of you (and everyone you know) up there with us for a good time. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...)
This first selection is called "Be Mine." Let us know what you think, and keep checking back for more new music. You never know when it will be uploaded, so you might want to check everyday...
