..Might as well indulge in every kink we crave
you won't be dreaming about piety sleeping in your grave
In the end, no one's lost and no one's ever saved
We're just patches of dirt on a road that will be paved

I really dig this tune. If you're looking to put out a compilation and would like to include it, contact us at band@45adapters.com .

BTW, that should say Stax, although sax makes sense too.

Seriously...let's get to the good part.

Who Are We Kidding?

I used to be the kind to wait
always sitting on my hands
I never saw the field of play
I just sat up in the stands

I used to be a little boy
I used to play with little girls
Now I've got much better toys
Now I'm living in the grown up world

  I don't like girls, I like women
and I'm not thirsty so who are we kidding?
I wanna stop talking, I wanna start sinning
  I don't like girls, I like women

I used to know a little girl
I loved the way she'd sing
I put her on a pedestal
I was saving for a diamond ring

I used to want to hold her hand
I used to want to kiss her mouth
I never said a single thing
One day her family moved down south

  Chorus

I bought you a couple of drinks
You bought me a couple too
Your Fred Perry was pink
My Ben Sherman was blue

I asked if you wanted to dance
You blushed when you said "I do"
Let's give love just one more chance
Let's do what grown folks love to do

  Chorus

Current mood:  stoked
One of my favorite mets blogs "The 'Ropolitans" was kind enough to interview us and link to our song "Metropolitans."

Dancing is fun, I'm not even going to bother explaining why. Anyone who doesn't dance must be undead.

DTAWDD

Don't walk when you should run
don't talk when there's work to be done
you know right from wrong
it's time you learned the truth of this song.

They stand there in a trance
Identify the zombies with just one glance
It's not worth taking a chance
Don't trust anyone who doesn't dance!

They're afraid of the sun
they shrink away from any chance of fun
they laugh at any thing you try
they're undead, so they want you to die

  Chorus

Music is more than sound
it's a lightning bolt through you to the ground
it's a beat that makes us whole
anyone can feel it if they've got a soul

  Chorus

(There's) Young girls in tight pants
walk on over and extend a hand
girls you don't have to wait
if he won't dance then dump your date!

How do you say "Don't trust anyone who doesn't dance" in your language?

It's easy to buy what someone is selling for way too long. Everyone does it. Everyone falls for someone's line of bullshit sometime. Just don't make sometime a long time.

The Bridge Store

Like a black widow spins her web
you spun so many lies I nearly lost my head
false hope like a cancer
well it ate me up inside
you pushed me down so far so long
I lost all of my sense of pride

I bought into all of your fairy tales
I thought the bridge store was opened up for sale
That old dead horse has turned right into glue
You may not want to hear it but it's true

Like a little puppy dog I followed you around
You pulled me by the leash so hard I thought up was down
Led me by the nose so long
it brought tears to my eyes
It makes me really wonder baby,
just what kind of fool am I?

  Chorus

Like a praying mantis with her mate
You chewed me out whenever I had anything to say
I let half truths convince me
to lay down and die
you used and abused me darling
and I can't see no reason why
