Greetings!!The spirits of hallowee'en have danced on our graves and disturbed us enough to crank up some juicy news flesh straight off the bone!

by paulharries
The three stellar entities of Die So Fluid have converged in London this month once again for rehearsals for their heavy duty 2010 touring schedule. November sees them filming not one but two new videos for future releases from the the 2010 album The World’s Too Big For One Lifetime. Also on the agenda are photo shoots with the talented Dijana Capan and Paul Harries. Rumour has it that one mastered track, leaked by DSF powers that be under duress, has a number of music business individuals foaming at the mouth in rabid desire. Once again the band would like to thank you for your patience while it is decided exactly how this record should be unleashed. Grog says ‘This album has turned out so special, beyond our first imaginings, that each move we make feels weighted with the responsibility of not fucking up its delivery to our fans! We appreciate the way everyone is baring with us and expressing their anticipation with myspace comments and personal messages. You can expect a brand new look website and loads of great new stuff, such as the merch we mentioned earlier this year, which can now all be unveiled with a little more coherence.’ Devolution Magazine is currently featuring Grog in the Saints and Sinners section of the latest October Issue 23 discussing the seven deadly sins. Go get yerself a copy! www.devolutionmagazine.co.uk
During this mysterious and tantalising lead up time to the release of the new album, Grog has found herself sought after in a session capacity again, notable events in her calendar having included gigs at Viper Room, Los Angeles and the Mercury Lounge in New York laying down some phat bass with a outfit called Livan. During this time she was introduced to the extremely talented and wonderful film writer/director Tom Dicillo (Johnny Suede, Living in Oblivion, Delirious..) whose work she has admired for many years. She was honoured to be invited by he and Will Crewdson, her very good friend from Rachel Stamp, to write and record a bass track for their cool project The Black and Blue Orkestre. There’s now another track in the works too. Read all about it here: http://www.tomdicillo.com/blog/?page_id=192 We hope you had a very Happy Hallowe’en, nudge nudge, wink wink, and keep an eye out for more news as things hot up towards the end of the year XXX

Grog has been secretly assembling an army of creepy dolls. Well hello folks, it's been a while! Ahem sorry about that, but every other bugger has been on summer vacation and we've taken a small breather too after all our recent hard work. Grog's exploring LA, soaking up some Hollywood vibes, collecting stuffed animals, trying not to get a tan, or be pummelled to death in the surf of Malibu, Al has been folk dancing at sunset on a Greek island, and Mr Drew has been discovering his inner 'cuntry' on his guitar, and collecting global recordings for a final aristic project to complete the album. The word is the album can be mastered this month, and artwork is in progress. We apologise for the delay of the release, but what's new, we're still on track, it was only recorded in January and we plan to release a first single by the end of 09. Check back for news updates regarding touring and schedules. Other news - we were recently informed Spawn of Dysfunction hit number 15 in the UK Amazon rock and metal mp3 download chart. Expect a gorgeous new slideshow to magically appear on our profile anyminute now!

Now I know most of you regard what we do as really hard work and don't envy our rough on the road lifestyle but occasionally you get a job that seems more like a holiday. Mainly due to Roy and the other hard grafters of Festival Muisiglanzgmeind. (Check out the pics at http://www.muisiglanzgmeind.ch/ ) we had an excellent time this weekend in incredible chocolate box surroundings right in the heart of Switzerland. Lured to Grafenort a day early with the promise of unlimited food and drink, first class travel and accommodation and hot and cold running assistants to tend to everything in between (carry Grog over the mud on your back to the tattoo stand? Certainly!) I had to ask 'Have you got the right band?' I mean we were treated like rockstars! Of course it pissed with rain on the first day – what's a festival without mud? But the moon shone on Saturday when we took to the stage and played a kick ass set – if I dare say so myself. We had a brilliant family reunion with Eisbrecher who played a great set too, as usual, and I was really sad to go on Sunday, just as a traditional vocal group delivered mass to the muddy festival funsters under blue skies. Of the Swiss stereotype for neatness I think I can safely assure you that it still exists. Whilst cruising the business class lounge at Zurich airport for coffee and pickles I had a strange sensation that I was being followed. Indeed I was being shadowed by a woman with a mop who had spotted my muddy sneakers and was erasing my footprints behind me.

After completing the final shows of the tour in Vienna (great crowd!) and Budapest, in a building that had formerly been an insane asylum but had been transformed into a really cool complex with a pretend beach outside, we bid an emotional goodbye to Prong and the crew at Vienna airport. A big thankyou to the band for being so cool to hang with in the confines of our home on wheels for the past few weeks, to their crew, Peter, and TM Volkmar with his magic neverending supply of sandwiches, Stoney on merch, Marika on our merch for being such a giggle, Thomas for being super-roadie/light technician/ babysitter of the year, Alan the raven our mascot, and I thank Drew for braving the last gigs with terrible stomach flu (brown trouser alert!) and Al for his continuous entertainment ;D,and last but not least our fans old and new. You’re the best. Mr Drew is fine now and we arrive home with our album about to be mastered, lots of plans to make for the coming months to promote it. Mark Williams is very excited about this record. Check back for updates!

Deventer was like a chocolate box town, all prettyfied with the oldest stone built house in Holland. We discovered a cool jewellery shop and everyone got blinged up. Our mood was dampened by the sad news from our Black Bellies friends about Kitt being in hospital, but the show must always go on, and we rocked in her honour, and also played Vorvolaka for Hans- it was the fourth gig he came to on this tour! Awesome. We hit another merch record that night and met many more happy drunks. I fended off one not so happy drunk from Marika who got the wrong idea and kept asking for kisses at the merch table rather than cds, but ‘Kiss me bitch’ was the final straw! The following day we played the Paradox, Ingolstadt, a great little sweatbox with a lot of atmosphere. Someone commented on myspace that it’s the most boring town in Germany, but judging by the crowd I don’t think so-there was some very vigorous lurching around and headbanging, but that could be due to our performance of course ;D We were all completely soaked from that show, and got driven to a hotel room to shower, Al came out with the best and biggest blonde afro I ever saw. After a rocky ride of disturbed sleep we then arrived in Zlin, Czech Republic, which was a complete contrast. Situated in a shopping mall the hall was huge and echoey but at least we had a stage big enough to run around on and do justice to Thomas’s thrilling light show. Alan the Raven has been trying out different stage positions too and says his favourite is perched haughtily upon the kick drum. Not being able to communicate with the Czechs was weird, but they understood the language of rock! A couple of Czech boys invited me to the front during Prongs set, and I totally went for it and rocked out to Snap your fingers snap your neck in front of Tommy. I couldn’t really understand what they were saying but they definitely want us to come back again … Today unfortunately the gig in Serbia has fallen through at the last minute, and we re-directed to Vienna where we’re parked up at some kind of crazy bohemian/anarcho outdoor venue with devil-graffitied buildings. I’ve walked through some woods towards the Danube, and sat reading Bukowski in the sun, wishing time to speed up to the next gig!

Looking forward to seeing our Dutch friends again tonight at the gig in Deventer, Holland, we were really shocked and upset to discover today that Kitt, the lovely bass player from the Black Bellies, is in intensive care after two emergency operations. We want to send her our best wishes for a swift recovery in this dark moment, and love to her friends and family. Thinking of you....

Thanks to those of you who chose to come to Nottingham Rock City in preference to Download festival on Friday. Halfway through the set Al put his beater right through his kickdrum skin giving the end of Vorvolaka a surprise interesting new flavour with emphasis on toms! Guess that’s a one-time only occurrence so think yourselves the lucky witnesses ;D We had a small interval while the drum was changed over (thanks Thomas and Peter!) and although we had to miss a song to stay within our time limit, everyone was on side and we stormed our way through the rest of the set to an appreciative crowd. It was a fun night and I ended up dancing wildly to Whitney Houston with Marika in the 80’s club upstairs for a dare and watching a pvc-clad dance troupe, who kept parading through our dressing rooms, frolic a saucy routine to Madonna’s Hankypanky song. After that it was a ferry ride to Ireland where we had a date at the Spring and Airbrake in Belfast on Sunday with a day to recover inbetween. We’d done 14 dates straight so we deserved it. I bought perfume on the ferry in a bid to distract myself from, and partially cover, some interesting smells beginning to eminate from certain areas of the tour bus. Oh the glamour of the road! Despite the rain and oddly placed pillar in the middle of the stage I had an ace time at the Belfast gig- cheers for the very warm and enthusiastic reception- I met a lot of really friendly people, especially memorable was the bloke who had me sign a pantyliner! Signed lots of posters, but that one beat most of the unorthodox stuff we signed on the last U.S tour haha. Can you outdo him?? Now we’re parked up somewhere outside Dublin wishing we were playing tonight-boohoo. But never fear in a couple of days we’ll be rockin out again in Deventer, Holland- we have a slightly longer set-45 mins- til then we’re trying to use the time constructively by checking the latest mixes of the new album by e mail!! And choosing photos for the artwork. We’re soo close and I’m soo excited, just a couple of tweaks and this baby can be mastered- it’s a MONSTER I tell you!!!! From the wild outskirts of Dublin over and out til the rockage recommences! Drew obscured by sweaty crowd, Grog obscured by large pillar!

Please note that the Dublin gig at Andrews Lane Theatre on the 15th has been cancelled due to the promoter going bankrupt Apologies- we're bummed out about it, but rest assured Belfast is still on.
