Hey Guys,

For the last couple of months we have been slaving away in the studio recording our first full length album! The LP will be entitled "Wagers", after the song of the same name, and has been tracked and mixed by our ever so talented bassist Zak Botsko. This album has proven to be an adventure for all of us, giving us new opportunities to expand our sound and abilities as a band. I assure you that we are not the same band that we used to be, and I am ever soo glad that we are not.
"Wagers" is a collection of 12 songs out of around 20 that we were thinking of recording, and in my honest opinion, I believe that the songs chosen are ones that perfectly represent us as a band. The songs I have written for this album deal mostly with coming of age in times of uncertainty, and gaining a glimpse at how delicate we are as people. I have learned a lot in the past 6 months, and i feel like this album is a direct outcome. Oh and...we really like to rock.
As of right now, we have one more full song to complete as well as some minor tracking before the album is complete.I hope that it will be out in time for our show in January with the Candy hearts and the Boomerangs at the Annex (Please come out- January 19th!). until then I will keep you posted, and check the myspace for new tunes!

"Wagers" Tracks (not in order)

1.) Several Years Ago
2.) Everything Will Be Fine
3.) A Part Of Me
4.) Monday's Fire
5.) If You Run
6.) Following Red
7.) Kick the Bucket!
8.) Lonesome
9.) The Songs We Sang
10.) Born To Be
11.) Wagers
12.) I've Been Hurt Before

Okay. We’re all home, we’re all safe. No speeding tickets, arrests, or deaths. Far less puking than we thought (bummer). First and foremost, we’d just like to say thank you to everyone who put up 5 smelly guys in their house/apartment and fed us and made sure we were comfy - you all are the kindest souls we’ve ever encountered, and we truly thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We’d also like to thank every person who came out to a show, bought a CD, or threw us a buck or two for gas. We really appreciate it.

We rolled into this sketchy town in North Carolina that seemed to have two names - Peletier and Cape something, I forget. Anyway, it’s all strips of grossness - churches and gun shops and shit, and we roll into this bar that looks brand spankin’ new. They’ve got a green room and showers for us, and we’re playing in the awesome room which is a real down n’ dirty southern bar. Hell yeah. Place is full of drunk motherfuckers ready for some country music (err.. rockabilly. Or punk-country. Everyone from the south calls us one or the other, so I had to change the Myspace listing). I had to set up the PA which was a total pain in the ass, but it didn’t sound totally bad for crap gear. The other shocker at this place was the owner made us play for almost 3 hours - we played 3 sets. Not only playing every song we knew, but overlapping a few. Proved to be worth it, as we made a little money for a hotel and gas for the rest of the trip - which was awesome since we were supposed to camp out and it ended up being 35 degrees outside. So we crashed in that night. Also met some crazy girls from Brooklyn at that NC bar. Fun night. Not like that, though!

Went to DC on Friday and let me tell you - DC is undoubtedly the shittiest city I’ve ever been to. What the fuck - 4 different quadrants of the same streets!?!? Who designed that place? Whoever you are, you’re a fucking idiot. Bottom line is we ended up in some pretty shady neighborhoods and the shitty venue was completely unwilling to accommodate us. We were lost and needed to go on an hour past when we were supposed to, and the place wouldn’t cut us any slack, so they cancelled on us. Dudes - it’s not our fault that your piece of shit city has the same streets 4 FUCKING TIMES so if we’re at the right address, but it’s SE instead of NW.... jesus christ....

So we figured - hey, Kyle has some family in Arlington, let’s do it. They’re psyched to see us, we’re psyched to hang. Wow. DC doesn’t make any fucking sense and the exits are mislabelled. We end up in Fort Myers (that’s a military base, people) TWICE. First time is no sweat, they let us out. Second time it’s a different gate keeper, dude ID’s ALL of us, harasses Zak, then makes us drive up to an inspection tent. If they had inspected us, we would’ve all been arrested for sure, but thankfully those dudes were cool with a very lost band just passing through. So we finally make it to Arlington and it’s pretty cool. Thanks guys. Killer hangin’, awesome chow.

Last stop was New Brunswick, NJ. Zak’s amazing family housed us, (twice) and we seriously can’t thank them enough. Amazing, amazing hospitality that we will never forget. You guys win. Seriously. Show was at a New Orleans themed bar. Awesome food and Mint Juleps. Crowd wasn’t really feeling us. We got off and got drunk as quickly as possible. That’s what we’re all about, and that’s how we ended our tour.

Lastly we wanna thank Joe Matoske. The man. He filmed the whole damn thing - 25 hours of footage he’s gotta sift through. You’ll be seeing all of these stories on DVD in a documentary he’s doing on us. Can’t wait. It’ll be included with our forthcoming full length which is tentatively scheduled to be released in September. So stay patient.

Good to be home. Let’s go Mets.

Athens, my goodness. You are a beautiful city. Joe and Pat are going to look at apartments/houses this summer. Gorgeous. Eli from The Jumpin' Jesus Christers (who were awesome) was nice enough to house us and feed us biscuits and deer sausage gravy in the morning. Delicious. Made the treacherous drive to Florida. Wind warning was in effect. Handling a van in 40mph winds on the interstate is fuckin' crazy. But we drive on and get there, only to be greeted to, "Hey - so we didn't hear about this show until 2 days ago, so I don't think we're gonna be able to have you play tonight, but you're welcome to hang out." Uh oh - there's even another band coming. We thankfully are able to sort things out and the show goes on. Awesome house show - nice n' sweaty and packed in. We love those. I turned it in early in preparation for the 9 hour drive to NC today, but the other guys had a blast - especially Joe and Pat ;) Many thanks to House Of Diamonds for letting us play, and to Sister who was totally fucking awesome. Today is the big 9 hour drive to NC, which we're almost through. Stopped at the beach before we left for a far too short lived amount of time and it was absolutely awesome. Just gorgeous. We also stopped at the infamous South Of The Border. My first time - total dump, but we got some roman candles. Killer. We're playing some dive country bar tonight and we gotta play for 2 hours. Booking guy said the clientel like Hank Williams covers. Awesome. We're also camping (provided its not just a parking lot this time) tonight - supposed to be quite nippy tonight so wish us luck. Till next time, Kris DD's

The Sunday Night Hayride in Pittsburgh was cool. Could've been a better turnout, but the venue was incredible - fed us, lots of free beer... and Kyle from The Beagle Brothers was kind enough to put us up and get us some awesome breakfast. Thanks so much, man. Really, really appreciate it. Yesterday we hauled it to Charlotte NC. Place fuckin' sucked. We were supposed to stay at this campground that turned out to be a trailer park. Total bust. Ok so plan B - hotel? We're pretty broke so that really has to be a last resort for us. Found a pretty middle of the road bar that had a jukebox that also played music videos of the songs on the TVs. Who knew The Hives had a video for Two Timing Touch? Crazy. Apparently every bar in that town closes at 2, and it was only 3 hours to Athens, so we decided to truck it to Athens and sleep in the van in a parking lot. That sucked. Athens did not. In fact, Athens is fucking awesome. Holy shit. True southern hospitality, incredibly friendly people, awesome community - just gorgeous. No bullshit here - just people who love living their easy lives. Saw There Will Be Blood for the first time today at a theatre that served beer. Totally awesome. Movie was good, too. The grits and soul food here are amazing. Sittin' outside the club taking in the warm, sweet breeze and sippin' a brew while I type this. We all just adore this place. Tomorrow we haul to Forida. It's Zak's and my goal to find some killer BBQ. I'm gonna enjoy what I got for now. More updates soon. Take care, Kris DD's

Fuck! I just deleted this huuuuuge fucking tour update. Fuckin' a. Shitty. Here's the condensed version: - Tuna and 7 hour van rides do not mix. Kyle has no mercy for th rest of us. - Interstate driving in mid Pennsylvania consists of an hour between each gas station and no paved roads except the interstate we're on. - Oneonta was once again completely inappropriate and totally out of control. No shirts lots of sweat and booze. Also Zak puked. Rad. Tonight we're playing the Sunday Night Hayride with a kickass band called The Beagle Brothers. Hell yeah. Wish us luck! Plenty of more updates throughout the week. Cheers, Kris DD's

Tour is officially over. We did it.

Our last show in Vermont was fantastic. Extra exciting for me, as I saw lots of kids I hadn't seen in far too long. The Monkey is a really great new venue - a much needed new direction for Burlington. Future tours I'm on will most definitely be stopping through again. According to Gabe, it was our best sounding set of the tour. Oh yeah - and Gabe opened! He was excellent. He played my Gretsch. Gabe, I think you should play solo electric always from now on. We will, however, never again make the mistake of spending $70 at Denny's after a show.

So I'm home now, and the rest of the band is on the road back to NYC. We sold a lot of CD's, had a lot of good times, and some great shows to look back on. We had 3 out of 5 people puke, which didn't quite reach our goal, but is nonetheless still satisfactory.

We'd like to thank Randy Newman and Andrew WK for entertaining us and ensuring us safe travels; The King Family, The Hayes Family, and Jes for putting us up; the fine people at Hampshire College for both putting us up and putting up with us (apparently two 30's is a lot of beer there? They learned the hard way...); everyone who bought a CD; and everyone who drove a distance to come see us play. You guys are the best, and you all made the past week or so as smooth and awesome for us as it possibly could have been. Thank you.

Till next time...
Kris

Well, well... We got our stinky asses up early and busted out of Oneonta to get to more familiar and eastern territory. Thanks to the incredible hospitality of Pat's parents, we received both homemade food and hot showers - ohhhh so good. This stop made us feel human again. After a little much needed chill sesh, we headed to by far one of the most interesting shows I've ever played. Hubbard Hall in Cambridge, NY hosted a round-robin, Jools Holland-esque gathering that was consequently a battle of the bands as well. Well, we ended up winning the damn thing, and as a result coming home with a few dollars we didn't have before. Some great, honest, down home artists here. Felt great to be there. Anyway we're utterly exhausted and it's terribly late, so it's time for us to hit it. Our muscles ache and our thoughts are weary - time to try and recharge. Tomorrow is totally party fun in VTTTTTTTT! Come out!! Kisses, Kris

Fukin yahhhh! Luke Moran brought the shit to this motherfuckin party. Tons of kids in another apartment drinkin' beers and fuckin shit up hardddd. I'm wasted but this shit was fuckin nuts. Kids went apeshit for our shit and I can't stop sneezing. Lots of CD's sold, lots of kids leaving happy. Sam put on an absolutely killer show at his apartment without a single hassle. God bless him. Luke Moran got a crazy back gash in his back. It's like a fuckin' back pussy for gods fuckin sake. Anyway, me and Pat went to the bar and just drank 2 pitchers of Newcastle. On the way over, we were listening to Andrew WK and it was pouring and then the righteous jams came on and the clouds parted. AWK is obviously Jesus. He saved our lives from the squall of the century. Tomorrow is Hubbard Hall in Cambridge. We gotta be on our best behavior - yeah right! Rock n' fuckin' roll, Kris

The champagne of beers tonight, bloody mary's with some fuckin' eggs tomorrow. This tour is no bullshit, as it should be. Pat says, "we got some beers left - let's fuckin' drink 'em!" Tonight we played at Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass. Very cool kids here - kids who get legitimately and honestly psyched to see live music. Very refreshing when you're used to the jaded assholes in NYC. Our buddy Will packed easily over 60 kids into his tiny apartment. Lots of great acts. Very home-y feel to the entire thing - just a bunch of kids sandwiched in a living room eager to hear some tunes. Unfortunately, due to space and noise issues, we couldn't do a full band set, so Pat and I had to do it like the old days - just the two of us with a plate full of ballads. Did the trick ;) Well, we're all getting ready to pass out to an episode of The X-Files, so it's time for me to head. Tomorrow's a big breakfast and the haul to Oneonta where we will undoubtedly do questionable and regrettable things at Luke's place. Wish us luck. Cheers, Kris

Well, after a couple cases of Blackbeary Wheat, we're all about to pack it in, and as usual I'm doing the insomniac thing.. We made it. We're all here, ready to do it. The lovely Gabel D'Amico decided to join us as well - sell a few CD's and we may even have a couple opening slots for him. Tomorrow we climb in and take off. First stop - Amherst, Mass. Right outside the college town of Northampton, so I'm hoping to snag a few new LP's if we have some perusing time. Can't wait. This is what we live for. Sweet dreams, Kris
