Hey Everyone,

As some of you may have heard, the rumors are true: after 5 years of new-punk-wave dance rockin to our hearts’ content, we’re hanging up the spurs and giving up the ghost to chase new challenges and endeavors, some of us together, others apart.  As Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., the grand inspirator for our namesake would say, “So it goes.”

Although bitter-sweet, we consider ourselves lucky that this inevitability is the result of harmonious choice rather than a drama-toxic fallout that befalls too many. Over the past few years, we have been fortunate to play with some of Erotic City’s finest bands on its greatest stages, track and record our music with top-notch talent at superstar studios, and tour places near and far, from here to New York. In many ways we have become “unstuck in time,” all the while making friends and having a blast doing it our way.

Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.

We are excited and honored to invite you to our curtain call event, which is certain to be our best show yet, on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4 at THE FINE LINE in downtown Minneapolis. We are flattered to be joined by good friends and superlatives, White Light Riot, The Strange Lights, The Invincible Kids, and special guest Dirty McKenzie, who will DJ hot pop hits in between sets.

Here’s the skinny nitty-gritty:

SO IT GOES

White Light Riot
The Strange Lights
The Invincible Kids (9 pm)
(special guest Dirty McKenzie)

21+   $5   9pm

Stay tuned for more details and news about the show, but in the meantime, thanks for listening now, then, and always.  Hope to see you at the Fine Line to help celebrate this fantastic night with us.

Love and Cheers,

HEY EVERYONE,

Today we're shooting a music video with Gaardhouse prouctions for "Rejection!," the first single off our new EP "The Quick Fix," which will be released in early May. Very exciting!  "Rejection!" was selected earlier this month as "The mp3 of the Week" by the City Pages in advance of our release shows May 1 at The Garage (All Ages) and May 2 at the Fine Line with White Light Riot, The Invincible Kids, Battle Royale, and Dirty McKenzie DJing hot trax in between sets.

For a listen and a free download of "Rejection!" please check out: http://blogs.citypages.com/gimmenoise/2009/03/mp3_of_the_week_6.php.

We also want to give a shout out to the Minnesota Film & TV Board and They Design for helping out with today's video shoot.  The location for the video remains TOP SECRET because we fear that it might get shut down by The Powers That Be, but thankfully the weather is cooperating, so we hope to get it fully shot by midnight tonight.

Stay tuned for more details concerning upcoming events, including "The Quick Fix" listening party later in Apri.  In the meantime, thanks for your love and support!!!

Love and Cheers,
(((SO IT GOES)))

NEXT SHOW: 4/4 at The Uptown with The Debut, Lost in Prague and The Engagement.

SO IT GOES NEWSFLASH (FOR SPARKLING MINDS WHO WANT TO KNOW):

Tonight we are headed back to the studio to continue tracking for our forthcoming EP, which we are currently calling "Coming in Hot", after a catch-phrase the band adopted while touring the Midwest in support of our debut release, "Historionics". Tonight we will be tracking with Eric Lovold at Instrument Control Studios, which he and The Alarmists own and operate in St. Paul. The goal tonight is to finish the tracking for three songs--including "Flashpoint of Controversy", "Everyone's an Addict", and a secret song, which we plan to identify later—so that we can get these tracks mixed and released in anticipation of the full EP. Please stay tuned for additional details…

While you're in the clapping mood…

Special thanks to the organizers and crowds who showed up and attended the Beatles Tribute show presented by Rock The Cause at First Avenue and the Glenn Graham benefit show at the Fine Line last week. We were honored to support these shows and the worthy causes they benefitted.

Also, thanks to our friends and fans--including Clint Lugert, Zech Thormodsgaard, Mike Mineheart, David Wetzel, Peter Boysen, and Andres Lopez, among others—who took amazing video and pics from these shows and others earlier this month, including the Myspace/Rock The Vote show we played with The Alarmists and our show at EPIC nightclub on behalf of the Minneapolis independent music scene. These pics and vids will be posted later this week on our revamped website and myspace page.

Lastly, we will be posting remixes of "Popaganda" (by DJ Swoope) and "The Apology" (by DDD) later this week and next on our revamped website. Check them out and download them for FREE!

Thanks again for your love and attention!

Cheers,

Hey Everyone,

For those who've never experienced Milwaukee's SUMMERFEST (like us prior to this year) you MUST at some point before your end of days…even if for some bizarre reason you don't enjoy live music.  Go!

Being Summerfest virgins, we fantasized about the size and magnitude of "The World's Largest Festival"—2 weeks, 700 bands, 10 stages—but the actual experience was beyond belief and I daresay nearly orgasmic.  Many stories and great memories, but for those with interest, here's a short summary of a few highlights:

Putting aside current gas prices, the drive to Milwaukee is always fun in the Monty with the band, and over the past year we've come to know our way around WI pretty well.  Slow down crossing the border and into a massive WI speed trap; eat and refuel in Tomah; don't take the wrong exit to Madison.

OK, fast forward....

After we parked our truck and trailer next to John Mayer's megabus—which I really wanted to piss on—we were chauffered in vans up to our trailer (cool, but weird) where we met up with good friends Ari Herstand, This World's Fair, and members of Roster McCabe.  Unfortunately, it started to storm and we feared that some or all of us wouldn't be permitted to play, which would have been a major buzz kill, especially for our fans that had made the drive from Minneapolis, Chicago, and parts of Wisconsin.  However, Brian's ANTI-RAIN dance (video coming soon) must of worked because everyone was able to perform their sets to decent crowds despite the on and off rain.

After Ari played a super cool solo set--which had the girls swaying and swooning—night fell and we started the punk dance rock, opening with "Get On With It," which I dedicated out loud but with no response to Brett Favre.  We were really excited to play S-Fest so our energy was HOT and a crowd quickly started to dance in the drizzle.  Two songs into it, however, the PA vocals mysteriously lost power and only our instruments could be heard.  (WTF!!??) Indeed, a slight problem, but we weren't stopping for nothing, especially with gas at $4.13/gallon!!! Fuck that, we're playing...even jam-band style if need be! To give the soundtechs time to work it out, Micah and Brian jammed "Billie Jean" and then "The People's Court," always crowd faves, but with short limits.  As we and the crowd grew anxious, I thought, what song can keep this Summerfest crowd together fast?  I never thought I'd play "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" on any stage, but hot damn it did just the trick!  And as Trav's nailing the harmonies I couldn't help but wonder: How in the hell do we and everyone know the words to this song and why is it so beloved…or at least tolerated? Mercifully, the techs fixed the problem and we were able to finish our entire set with surging verve, including our new songs "Flashpoint of Controversy" and "Everyone's an Addict."

Fast forward.....

We then partied into the night with the other bands and closed down Summerfest in proper style across the street at Riptide!  (Inside joke and an entirely separate story that I shouldn't bother you with, especially if you found the above boring as hell.)

Not to make a long story longer, but love and very special thanks are due starting with our fans that drove from all over to see us play and to Ari Herstand, who invited us to play Summerfest.  As many of you already know, Ari is not only a talented Minneapolis musician, he's a super-fantastic gent who deserves all the success he continues to earn.   Go to his shows, buy his music, and you'll become fans just like us.  Love and cheers also to Chris Kalgren and mates of This World's Fair, another amazing Minneapolis band, for the beer and graciously taking care of our cooler, which we expect to be returned fully stocked at the end of their tour this summer!  Finally, thanks to Roster McCabe for closing the night with quality Minneapolis reggae funk that had all of our asses movin' and groovin' long after Summerfest had closed.

After losing our S-Fest virginity we now aspire to be S-Festing whores and are already looking forward to rocking Summerfest next year.  We hope that you make plans to join us for the experience, if only for the food and beer.

*          *          *

Thanks for tuning in to another rambling blog and for your love and continued support.   We plan to post video and pics of our S-Fest Experience soon.  Your comments are always more than welcome, but I dare you to make them as entertaining as this.

Cheers,

Adam
