hey errrbody

believe it or not... probably just believe it, triple j have put us in the list of songs you can vote for in triple j's hottest 100. now while we don't hold great expectations, lets see if we can crack triple j's hottest 1000, we can only get there with your help!!!


we were conscientious enough to only write one song to make it on the list so you have nine other spots to fill with your favorite tracks of the year.

alright dudes. the heroes over at dew process have decided to sign our little band to their record label. unfortunately this marks the end of sarah blasko, yves klein blue, bluejuice and all the other wonderful dew process bands as the label will now be devoting 100% of their time and resources to us.

but seriously, it's really exciting news and each one of us is delighted to be working with them from this day forward! oh and being sandwiched in between bernard fanning and mumford & sons on their roster isn't intimidating at all really...

Dew Process Signs Last Dinosaurs

Dew Process is very proud to welcome young upstarts Last Dinosaurs to the fold.

Despite an average age of 18, the Bris-Vegas four piece play their instruments like they were clutching them at birth.

Already pocketing a strong fan base in their hometown, Last Dinosaurs have been busy this year acquainting themselves with Sydney, Melbourne and even Japan.

The band’s guitarists (brothers) Sean and Lachlan Caskey had quite the musical upbringing. Their father, a guitarist and frontman in the early 80’s, encouraged the siblings to pick up their instruments at a ripe age. Naturally and unavoidably, a healthy dose of sibling rivalry ensued and the brothers propelled each other to new challenges. Before long, younger brother Lachlan had honed his guitar playing into something incredibly special. Sean on the other hand was not lucked out, discovering a little later on that he had scored the knack for writing a melody.

Dan Koyama and Sam Gethin-Jones are also no freshmen to their instruments. Dan filling up his teenage years with the complex drum rhythms of his idols and Sam cutting his teeth as a drummer in other local bands before switching to bass.

Much of the band’s appeal lies in the spritely, impassioned assault on all things indie-pop, as their instruments slither purposefully over and around each other. Triple j were quick to tag them as a promising act with demo “Honolulu” earning them the triple j unearthed tick of approval in February 2009. Last Dinosaurs live show has also been hard to ignore, highlighted as one of the most talked about shows at Brisbane’s 2009 Big Sound Showcase by JMag. The band will be playing across the East Coast throughout November with performances with You Am I, I Heart Hiroshima, Red Riders and Leader Cheetah.

Last Dinosaurs will be releasing a taste of what’s to come with single “As Far As You’re Concerned”. It is to be released digitally through Dew Process/UMA on November 27, 2009.
