Up now (May 2009) is a radio edit of 'The Space Between', what I consider to be 'the' single from the forthcoming CD, and the only song to feature my vocals.
On mellotron, the one and only, Jim Rezek of the highly-regarded neo-progressive rock band, Iluvatar. (Thanks Jim!)

Tempustry's 2nd CD release, 'Astral Gate' promises to be an all-out unrestrained assault of an innovative blurring of Berlin (Example: Tangerine Dream, Klause Schulze) & Dusseldorf (Kraftwerk) schools of electronic music. This release will be the 1st Tempustry release to highlight Allen's acoustic/electronic drumming along side his programming abilities. Making their debuts will be Moog, Oberheim, and Roland analog synthesizers, sequencers, vintage Simmons and Tama electronic percussion, Zildjian cymbals, Celtic Bells, and Tama Gong Bass Drum. Joining Allen on 'Astral Gate' in the studio and live on stage will be long-time friend and fellow synthesist, Jim Rezek (Iluvatar) on mellotron and synthesizers. Compositions will meld spacey and ethereal soundscapes, soaring leads, and subsonic salvos of electronic and acoustic motorik.

TEMPUSTRY: le Voyage du Temps Tempustry is the electronic/new age project of one Allen Brunelle, a musician whose talent encompasses multiple genres and has landed him gigs with various progressive bands, including American neo-progressive stalwarts Iluvatar. Brunelle is a versatile player, having performed and recorded on drums, synthesizers, and vocals. As Tempustry, it's all keyboards and other electronics. Le Voyage du Temps recalls some of the pioneers who blazed a trail for electronic progressive way back when the iconic Moog synthesizer ruled the realm. Names like Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream and Jean Michel Jarre immediately come to mind. This album's 10 songs don't even break the 42-minute mark, suggesting Brunell might want to stretch things further compositionally on his next outing. Give him some time. Before Brunelle is through, his work may yet earn him a seat at the masters' table. - Ric Levine

Tempustry - "Le Voyage Du Temps" (Time Voyage Music 2005, TVM007) From Aural Innovations #32 (November 2005) Tempustry is Allen Brunelle's solo project apart from his occasional duties as drummer for Architectural Metaphor and Dark Aether Project, and though the music on Le Voyage du Temps has some affinities with the former, most of the songs veer far closer to Jean-Michel Jarre/Michael Garrison territory. With a penchant for symphonic bombast and an obsession with portamento-drenched monophonic synth leads, much of Le Voyage plays out like clockwork, with ultra clean production, sparkling textures, and nouveu romantic aspirations of cosmic grandeur. Pieces like "Space Race," "Spindrift," and "Skyward," while nicely programmed and artfully structured, simply recapitulate the conventional synth wizard magic invoked by numerous Schulze apprentices (including Jarre himself, to some degree) since the late 70s. To Brunelle's credit, his use of drum machines adds a much needed rhythmic element to what has become a nearly homogenized plug-in genre of music. The aptly titled "Driven," for instance, propels the listener across the mechanized autobahn of early Kraftwerk, with a nod to the digital highways explored by such 90s speedfreaks as 808 State, Orbital and Eat Static. For connoisseurs of electronica and similar synth-based genres, Le Voyage has the cardinal virtue of doing it all right - and pretty much right by the book when it comes to post-Schulze space music design. Which is to say, if you like the past masters and grand gurus of kosmische musik, you'll like Tempustry's Le Voyage du Temps. Reviewed by Charles Van de Kree Aural Innovations
