Current mood: lethargic
So this is to undoubtedly be the first of many in a long-running slew of self mockery but, hopefully, most un-masicistic displays of behavior. The hour is late and I'm wondering (as so often before) why I'm still awake. I think, or rather, I hope it's not insomnia. I believe it's merely become ritualistic over the past 4 or 5 years. But, moreover, pushing the bodily envelope via sleep deprivation and alcohol permeation has been the trend this week. Notated by this consistently worsening "under the weather" state of being I've become acustomed to, I've gotta' take a step back for a moment and state that it's totally worth it. Life is for the living and I'm pretty sure digression is something not to be taken lightly, but rather to be taken sparingly. So perhaps it's wise, not to mention admirable, that we supress our instinctual tendency to sleep when we're tired. I'm sure this will all look different in the mask of daylight, but honestly I think I've grown to like staying up late as an accomodation to my routine oriented life. Of course it could change when I'm 60 years old and in diapers, but that's all the more reason to harbor a respect for the ability to do so now. Hopefully I'll not pine for this current state of normality when I'm 60, but rather look back with fond memories in the glowing warmth of being once captured and held up, inexplicably, by the darker hours.
Anywhost, it's finally time for bed. WeRD to the mammas and the pappas!
