Hey all

Our new album should be delivered and ready to go next week.  Look at our website, www.hightown.org.uk for ordering (shop page), comments (home page) and a frank, transparent assessment of the numbers of the 100 run we've sold (journal page).

It's 10 new tracks in a 4 page digipack, and not as blurred as the pic below.

Hope you're all fine.

Dear all

Myspace, in their ultimate wisdom, have disabled our Buy-it-Now buttons.  If you want to buy Knockouts or Clod Magazine or the Luton Haiku book, go to this site, which is far more friendly and intimate:

Happy shopping

System One, which we’ll call our ‘classic’ 2005 release, is now available to download online.  It’s not as good as having the cd of course, but if you sneak it on to your iPod (other MP3 players are available), you don’t run the dual inconveniences of cluttering your house or having an ‘obscurer-than-thou’ cd lying round which you may be quizzed on by people with proper taste and life-direction.  Oxfam music and iTunes have the album for £7.99 (you may have to search around a little under ‘The Knockouts’); and while individual tracks are cheaper on iTunes, they’re not compatible with some machines and what not; and at Oxfam, you can listen once to any song for 11p.  I’m sure the ‘classic’ System One is available from other download sites.

But as I say, the cd’s the best option.  It'll sound better and is actually cheaper.  And don’t forget the more recent, extra-vfm and also ‘classic’ Very Special World and Bollywood covers ep at the home of DIY pop, www.topplers.net.

We have some t-shirts, size large, if you're interested.  They are wonderful, wonderful garments to look at, but the quality's "not all that".  If you would like one of these delightful tees, we'll call it £5 + £1 post and packing.  Email me back if you want one of these beauts, and see the picture of Count Stragula (the artist who gave us the picture) modelling one of these creations.

Thanks to all who attended the 'strange' Valentines Night gig at The George yesterday.  Lack of sound man and my own APPALLING playing notwithstanding, it wasn't too bad a show.  We have to thank The Tyke Tyler Band for showing some of that, err, ..:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Dunkirk spirit, the genial barman who plied us with a few free beers and the excellent chap from the hat Factory (Chris, I think) who came in at the last minute with cables and that.  Memories of being told "If you play loud drums I'll come and smash your f*ckin head in; I don't care about pub entertainment" by the elderly gentleman who, thankfully, didn't soon evapourated as I missed bits from the beginning of one song after another.  Never trust a lone man who's clearly been drinking all day and wears black leather gloves indoors.  Roll on April gig with Arndales and Black Time (you heard it here first).

Drums.
