Merry Dirty Calypsomas!
As expected and per usual, Lord Mike's Dirty Calypsonians will be making a holiday season appearance at the Midwest Ska Fest on Wednesday December 27th, 2006 at the Metro! What better way to celebrate the day after Boxing Day than by shaking your Christmas Gift to the World to the sweet hot-step sounds of the Chicago's Original Dirty Calypso band? And, if our charisma and Carmens aren't enough to draw you away from your brand new Tonka Trucks and Beachhouse Barbies, we've pulled out all the stops and done what they said was impossible: we've added BRAND NEW songs to the craziest, dirtiest, wildest calypso set you know and love!
Remember kids, with 2007 fast approaching, this may be your last chance to see us in white pants!
Hugs and Sloppy Kisses,
Lord Mike and all the Dirty Calypsonians

So, Lord Mike and the Dirty Calypsonians are approaching their second year of existence and what better way to commemorate 2 years of stupidity than with the release of our album More at Gunther Murphys next week, July 14th. You should come out and help us celebrate by trying to matching us drink for drink as we booze it up with our homeboys The Stranger. Theyll rock your face off I guarantee.
Weve had a lot of fun these past two years and we plan to do a lot more stupid stuff to make both you and us laugh in the years a head. We are, however, really proud to be releasing our CD so that everyone can take the LMDC insta-party with them where ever they go this summer. We couldnt have done that with out Chuck from Jump Up! A big hug and thanks goes to him for all the help and support.
So come on out on July 14th and pick up More.. from Lord Mikes Dirty Calypsonians. It comes with a classic play along at home trivia game with questions like: Guess whos drunkest on that song? Who tracked that song in their underwear? Which song had the highest alcohol to production ratio? And, Who the hell made that sound?
Hope to see everyone out on the 14th. In the mean time check out some of the old photos in the pics section
Cheers
LMDC.

The Calypso Nation (Arise and Win). Throw off the chains of distorted guitars and unilateral drumming. Only by shaking our collective ass as one can we be free of the puritanical tyranny imposed by things that aren't topless beaches.

We love it when people make us laugh! This dude is funny........
I've done my own math.
And if you charge exactly 4 cents per record, I will indeed buy 1,000 copies.
I look forward to buying at least one, anyway. You're an awesome band. Thanks for existing

As most of you know the new record will be coming out in the next few weeks. We are counting on you all to make this album a smashing success and help us establish our place in international stardom. According to our myspace page, we have just over five hundred (500 ) friends. Coincidentally, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has established the benchmark for a Gold Record as the sale of 500,000 units. So the way we figure it is that each of you has to purchase a mere 1,000 copies of the latest release by Lord Mike and the Dirty Calypsonians in order for the record to go Gold! We're sure you have plenty of friends and family members to whom you can give copies of the album. We know for a fact that some of you have well over 1000 myspace friends and may need to replenish your stockpile of Dirty Calypso CDs. Don't worry we will be happy to sell the second thousand to you at a bulk rate. So, start saving those pennies and get ready to make Lord Mike go gold. We hope to be announcing the details of the CD release party in the next few weeks so everyone can mark it on their calendar. In the mean time, keep it dirty.
Love,
Lord Mike and his Dirty Calypsonians.

AP News Wire Service reports that famed Chicago musicians, Lord Mike's Dirty Calypsonians, are scheduled for a recording session in an unnamed private studio somewhere in the Carribbean the weekend of February 10th. An anonymous Dirty Calypsonian told AP that the group hopes to complete a 10 song album to be released on both CD and vinyl sometime in early spring. However, the group also recognizes that it is very unlikely that they will actually accomplish anything aside from drinking until they pisspants themselves.

So winter is coming and you might be thinking to yourself, "What do those fabulously dressed Calypsonians do in the winter?" How is it that these creatures whose natural habitat is in the sunny sub-tropical climate of Trinidad can adapt to the balmy winter of Chicago? Do they fly south for the winter? Do they have matching guayabera jackets? Do they hibernate?
Well, as much as we would like we don't have wings and we can't fly south. We don't have matching guyabera jackets....yet. Thanks for the suggestion. We are infact mammals (well most of us) and we do hibernate. So after our monster Halloween bash at the Darkroom on the 30th we will be stocking up on food and booze and retreating to our den. During those cold months we plan to work on some new material and spend some time in the studio documenting the wild mating calls of the Calypsonains. If youre lucky you might spot the rare emergence of a calypsonians at one of their favorite watering holes over those cold winter months. However, the nocturnal calypsonian will remain indoors and out of sight for the most part during the winter.
How can I get my Calypso fix?
Well the best thing to do would be to stop by the website, www.dirtycalypso.com. This will be our only means of communication for the winter (although we might check our myspace page as well). Rumor has it that National Geographic Expert Jeremy Schmidt will be doing a documentary on these fascinating creatures and their winter survival techniques. More information will follow and field reports from Jeremy will most likely be posted on both the National Geographic website and the www.dirtycalypso.com message board.
So everyone make it out to the Calyps-urlesque-oween spectacular to get your last fill of Calypso for a while. Then just hunker down, stock up on inflatable palm trees, and prepare for a barren calypso free winter.
Yours truly,
