The Band Formerly Known as Prince broke up as of a few days ago…  I’m not ready to talk about it really, but we’ll have more of an explanation eventually…

I hate coming to terms with the fact that more than two years of my existence has led to nothing…  I can’t believe that that is true…  So instead of telling everyone why we broke up, I’m gonna tell everyone what the band will be up to…

Jesse is going to be continuing his high school career and hopefully starting fast track soon to get his associates degree in general studies…

Nick graduates at the end of this semester!  He plans to get a job, save up for a year, and then see where that leads him :)

Not quite sure what Ben will be up to, but I have heard that he is planning on going back to college…  Not sure what he will be studying…

I will be continuing to play music…  There’s not much else that I really care about…  I’m going to be starting a band with Carter James, Alex (from Alreshay), and LaRissa Vienna!  We’re thinking about calling it BAD!

I won’t be checking the band’s myspace as much as I used to…  So talk to me on my personal profile (www.myspace.com/kissesforsugardaddy)

Those are all the updates that we have as of now…  Pretty please check back…  It’s been a lot of fun!  We love you all!!!

Hey it's Ben from tbfkap! When I first started doing stuff with The Band Formerly Known as Prince it was fun, exciting and one of the best musical experiences I've ever had! Then it took a turn! I will no longer be a part of this group! It's what's best for me, and for everyone! It was alot of fun!

Great things are happening for TBFKaP!!!

We've been eating, sleeping, and breathing our new sound!

We've written and recorded a lot of new material!

We've blown a ton of money on blank CDs so we can give our jams out for free to everybody (ps. hit me up if you wanna help out with that :)

But the most exciting thing of all for me and my brothers at this point is the addition of an all new member!!!  His name is Nick, he enjoys playing guitar and long walks on the beach...

Check him out in our new photography, and please send our band very very kind comments welcoming him to the family!  He's hear to stay, and so are we :)!

Alright young ladies and young gentlemen!  I was at a really cool party last night and a couple of our bands really good friends said it just feels like The Band Formerly Known as Prince is never gonna come back and never come out with anything new and whatnot :)!!!

I'm here to tell you that that's just a big load of poopey in the pants :)!!!

We plan on coming back, bigger, better, and happier than ever!  Plus, I personally think our new sound is the best thing we've ever created!  We've challenged ourselves in song writing so hard and I honestly think it'll pay off big time!

I know some people don't like hearing this, but we as a band have decided to give up electro music!  It was a lot of fun while it lasted, but I think we've got much bigger and better things cooking!!!  We're going to play GLAM ROCK!!!

So bassically, just go listen to a buttload of Def Leopard, mixed with Beasty Boys, Mixed with Cardinal Official and you'll have the new sound that we're going for!!!

Oh and if you're free, send us some delicious comments with suggestions of stuff to listen to!  I'm feeling really inspired right now and I want that to keep going!

Thanks!  Gracias!  Merci!  Grazie!  Graca!

WoooWeee!  Wow folks!  I feel on top of the world!

I spent a lot of time working my butt off for our last show!  I really did!  I pushed it as hard as I possibly could, laboring under the fear of having our last show be a dead one...  You should know, my fears came true!  The show was pretty dead, probably less than 50 people total for the whole night (which is bad compared to how we've been doing lately)!  I spent the first half of the night beating myself up, feeling terrible, feeling like I was no good at this, feeling like I should give up :)!!!

But then something changed, and it wasn't the turnout, and it wasn't the lineup, and it wasn't the crowd...  The nice people where still there, the haters where still there!  The only thing that changed was my paradigm!  My perspective and my outlook on everyone and every thing!

I'm proud of our performance tonight, I think we had more fun tonight than we have in a very very very very long time!!!  I'm proud of the people there tonight, I always hear people say that they "love" people, but it's usually apparent that their insincere!  But tonight I can honestly say that I love each and every person at the show tonight!  Even the meanest, sketchiest, weirdest, or most obnoxious people there tonight, I love um all the same!  It's a beautiful feeling!!!

I got home tonight, and got a bunch of really rude messages from people telling me to give up, and for the first time, it didn't mess my head up...  They can't touch this high!  They can't touch this happiness that I've achieved...  I feel stronger.  I feel wiser.  I feel closer to what it is that I'm supposed to be!

I started out this night feeling like I should give up...  Feeling like I've wasted all of this time on something that would never turn out the way I had always hoped...

I'm glad I haven't given up...

I don't think I ever will give up...

I'm so excited for this break!  I think everybody is gonna love this new sound that we're developing!  It feels fresh!  It feels like it's what we where meant to do all along!

I love everybody reading this... maybe I won't in the morning, but for now, I just love feeling this feeling :)!!!

Goodnight, sianara, see ya in a few long months!

Hey everybody, Aaron here!  Finally back from almost two weeks of a 106 degree fever :)!

I've missed talkin to everybody and whatnot, and am really glad to be back online and able to talk to people once more!!!

I'm writing this blog to inform everbody that after Lifestock on August 13th, TBFKaP is gonna be out of the game for a little while!

Here's the reasoning...  A little while ago, I just started feeling... I guess I'd call it a drain in my passion...  I still really enjoyed what I was doing, but something was missing, a piece of the love was gone...  I still love the music that we as a band make, but I don't want it to be what defines me anymore...

I started reaching for ideas with the boys, and writing music on my own in search of something that I could believe in again, with all my heart...  We struggled with this for quite some time and have started developing a sound that I can honestly say, I think is truly fresh and new!

So... after July 13th, TBFKaP is falling off the grid for a while to develope this new sound and see what happens, hopefully excpect us to researface around october or november with a sick new ep that we want to show everybody!  We're really really excited about what's happening!  This will be a good, fresh, and beautiful new time for TBFKaP!

All I ask, is pretty please don't forget about us before then...  That would be a petty...  And if I, or Ben or Jesse have been talking to you on the myspace anytime in the last few months, please drop us a line every now and then!  We'll still be on here and willing to talk and whatnot, probably just a little less frequently :) haha
Thank you so much, hope everyone is supportive of our decission!

I've been talking with a couple really smart and eloquent people about mass messages lately...  So I figured I'd share my views on the whole situation :)!

Just know that what I believe isn't very popular amongst most people, so if you dissagree, please just be cool and nice about it :)!!!

I love mass messages!  They're a wonderful tool for an individual, or group of individuals to reach out to more people than they could without the use of mass messages!!!  I think using myspace software is okay, it's just the way bands use it that makes it dumb...

When I get a mass message from a band that says "what's up? check out our tunes, and buy our stuff on itunes..." or "Hey cutey!  Just wondering if you're coming to our show on the 12th of May? it's gonna be great!!!" I get really really pissed...  It makes me feel used, and like i'm just a number, or I'll even go far enough to say less than a person :(...

But that's not what we do at all :)!  When I send out a mass message, I like to consider it something like an icebreaker!  Sure we promote shows, or whatever new things we've got going on... but we wrap our stuff up in a personal joke that will make people smile!  Even if you hate our music, our comments might just make you smile ;)!

And if you respond to the comment, we'll respond back, and before you know it, you have a really fun and interesting conversation going with us!  I've met some of the coolest people through sending or responding to mass messages ;)!!!

We have a show july 2nd at Cervantes in denver, I want everyone to hear about this so they can give it a chance!  So I send them all a comment!  And if someone's interested in my joke, or the show, or anything for that matter, then I'm more than happy to talk to them for the rest of my life about it if that's what they want :)!

So if you get a comment from us that we've sent to a lot of people, don't think of it as us not caring about you!  Think of it as an invitation from us to you to really get to know each other :)!  Cause that's how I have, and always will view it :)

With love!  Happy Fathers Day!

-Aaron

Hey what's up!!!  We've got some really really cool stuff cookin up after we release this new album!  Things are going to get super super busy here in a couple of weeks!

So while things are slow, we've decided to have ourselves a little contest!!!

Attached at the bottom of this blog is the instrumentals to three of our more popular songs!  Miss Femme Fetal, Disco Diva, and You!!!

Download one, or all of the beats and send us your cover song (as many as you want)!  Attach the cover via Youtube or Myspace and we'll give it a listen!!!  Make sure to label the video, or song "The Band Formerly Known as Prince Cover: ____"!

The top three best cover songs will be awarded a custom fansign by us, and a signed t-shirt off of our new line of merch!!!

First place will recieve a fansign by the band, an autographed t-shirt/CD, they will be put on our myspace's #1 friend spot and will come into the studio with us to be featured on our all new EP scheduled to be released near the end of September, begginning of October!!!

Don't know how many people will participate, but oh well!  This'll be a nice fun thing for everybody to check out!!!

This'll be fun for everyone to do, and hopefully a good way for anyone who is serious about music to get their start or atleast a decent amount of exposure!!!

Oh and one more thing, extra points to whoever can make a unique take on the song, or redo the instrumentals in a way that we didn't think to do!

Hope everyone tries out!

Ugh... :( :( :(!
I went to Broomstock today (it's a local music festival in Colorado). It was a pretty fun time, we got invited to go by a lot of local acts and it was nice to see what was cooking in the local scene (The Titan Courageous was ballin as hell)!
But then this band called 3 A.M. played... They didn't sound that bad, but I will be honest and say that their music wasn't exactly my jam... But things during their show just got so incredibly out of hand... There was a huge group of kids booing, cursing, screaming, and flipping off the band the entire show...
It depressed me to see, it even hurt me to see... I even looked at Megan, a friend of mine and said, "I don't think I want to play music anymore"... I almost cried, there where people booing that are my friends... I tried jumping on stage and dancing to get people to give having fun another chance, but they just wouldn't stop! I went up to people and said, "please stop it! you're better than that!" but it just continued!
They where a mob... Not individual people... just a huge freaking mob... I've never been so disappointed in my fellow man... I've never been so hurt by complete strangers...
I know it sounds over dramatic but in this mass of faceless, hateful people, I saw the faces of the same people that conducted the Salem Witch Trials and sent so many innocent people to die... In them I saw the same people that Ostracized Socrates (if that's how you spell his name, and that word)... I just saw something terrible, that's all I meant...
When did music stop being about fun, and uplifting people? I know that maybe people have a reason to have a grudge with 3 A.M. but keep it off the stage and out of the crowd... Music is more sacred than that... or at least I thought it was...
I've never been more ashamed to call myself a human being? I've never been more discouraged...
