Michael Jackson’s funeral is being held now as write this and taken place at the ....Staples.. ..Center.... in ....Los Angeles...., Ca.  Its kinda odd its being held there, because I attend lots of events there, especially this past year. Why do fans love him so much? Especially, outside of the ....United States...., he’s still a legend to most people, even though he peaked in the late 80s and early 90s. He did produced some albums after that, but his success didn’t translate in ....America.... and all those controversy surrounding him. Public opinion wasn’t all that great in the ....US.....

Here’s my take on what Michael Jackson meant to me. From what I can remember, my earliest recollection of a song, is in fact, his music and the first music video Ive ever seen is his. So, he made quite an impression on me when I was a kid, circa 1985. I continued to listen to his music on a consistent basis until I graduated from high school. Basically, the last track I’ve heard of his music is “Scream” and don’t remembering hearing any other tracks on the radio afterwards.

I was shocked as everyone else when he allegedly molested a boy. I don’t know if its true or not, only MJ knows the truth. I honestly belief he didn’t do it, he is just one misunderstood dude. People call him names and persecute him because he’s different or weird. I’m not defending him at all, just what I observed. Before his death, some thinks he’s a freak and after his death, he’s the king. That’s exactly what the media portrayed him to be. You’re talking about a guy he was physically abused by his father as a child and didn’t have a real childhood. He had to work as a child and haven’t stopped working since.

Does he have psychological problem? I believe so, I bet a lot of entertainers do. He died prematurely, he was planning for a comeback this year with tour dates, it’s a shame, we will never have the chance to see that. A lot of people were shocked when they hear the news he died at 50.

It doesn’t matter what you think of Michael Jackson, his music influenced you in some ways. My parents grew up listening to the Jackson 5 and MJ, and I grew up listening to the latter. And I watched the Larry King’s special clip of ....Jackson....’s supposively haunting Neverland ranch last night, which was fascinating. I believe his music will be in many people’s heart, so I ask, what do MJ mean to you?

If you live in Southern California, you might have experienced an earthquake measured 4.5 less than an hour ago (755pm PST). This one is by far the fastest one I've ever experienced, but felt it for sure. For me, it lasted about 2 seconds, mild compare to the one last year, late July of 2008. And Im listening to the tv, people felt the earthquake pretty strong.

The one in July took me by surprise and was kinda scary, I think it was a 6.0 or something, but felt much stronger and lasted for almost a minute. It felt like a rocket is gonna land on me, the noise was intense and ground rolled. Ive experienced earthquakes for the past 23 years and the past few years its more active than ever. Because for a good 10 years or so, nothing really happened, beside the intense Northridge earthquake in the 90s that leveled the whole city.

I heard it from my sister, that come May of 2009 or 2010, the so called "Big one" will hit Southern California. Earthquakes comes when you least expected, just like things in your life sometimes come unexpected.

Weird for this to happen tonight, since tomorrow morning my family is doing funeral services for my grandma. I hope all of the artists in Southern California aren't hurt from the result of  this earthquake. Be safe out there and I cant wait to continue to see more great art out there.

If you have any earthquake stories, feel free to share.

I'm sure by now, you all have felt the impact of the high cost of gasoline is effecting all of our lives. I've never really felt the impact of the economy directly before. Everything have gone up in cost, food, clothes, good and services, etc. I went in Costco yesterday and it was almost empty, it was scary. Consumption is presumably down and yet prices kept going up. Its pushing $5 per gallon and gonna go up to $6 before the year ends.

I live in California and we have the highest prices in the nation. Its hurting a lot of business too, their bottom line is not what they're used to be. In Orange County, the bankruptcy rate is up 150 percent compare to last year and in Los Angeles County, its up 91 percent. Ive seen a Quizno and a McDonald going closing down the past few months. You know its bad, when a McDonald closes it doors.

I'm fortunate, I don't have to drive as much as used to. Since, I live near where I work. I'm consolidating trips to the store more than ever, to save gas and the environment. I've even considered buying a bike a few months ago. Riding a bus is out of the question, because of time is important to me, I can't wait and its cheaper to drive than riding a bus for me. These times I wish I'm in New York where the subway is available.

So, my question is, how are all of you dealing with the rise in gasoline? And have the recent phenomenon inspire you to create art dealing with the crisis?

PS. If you want to know the latest happenings of the community, I suggest you subcribe to my blog like many of you have already.

My opinion on music. I cant live without it, I like it loud when possible. I like the hardcore stuff and the soft/slow stuff. There's no such thing as bad music or good music. Whatever is good to you might be crap to other people. A lot of people get really worked up when they don't like a certain type of music or song. And tend to judge the person according to the music they listen to. While others are too ashamed to admit they like a cetain song. I'm fairly open to different types of music, I might not like all, but willing to hear and try it out. I like cheesy, underground, mainstream, indie, foreign  and whatever weird music comes my way. I love music and don't just limit myself only to certain style of music. There's also a lot of songs that I would hate at first and like later. While, some songs or albums take a long time to mature for me to like it. People like a certain songs for a number of reason. Lyrics or memories that goes with that track, or whatever you can relate to or it speaks to you. Music is a communication device and makes you feel a certain way or its outlet of what you want to express, if you wrote the song. And just because a certain track is critically acclaimed, does it automatically becomes a good song? Not necessarily, it just means they have a good argument about it. Good music taste is in the eye of the beholder...:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Its almost the end of the year and 2007 is definitely an unforgetable year. I don't think there's a time of my life where, I've experience so much high and low in a time span. I experience different levels of emotions that I didn't know existed within me. Well, I know I have emotions but unexpected feelings  I guess. Its just not emotional, I experienced some physical pains too. Body aches, here and there, that lower back pain earlier in the year was a bitch. Stupid me, try to walk it off like I always do. I'm learn to take of myself this year. Instead of pushing/abusing my body, I'm trying to take care of that machine. If only I treat it nicely, like I treat my car, haha.

I guess its 50/50 in terms of  good and bad. However, without the bad stuff my ass will never learn. That's how it should be, you live and learn. Life experiences are priceless, I definitely experience a great deal this year. Its another major step out of my comfort zone, another notch up in my confidence level. I still have a long way to go in terms of learning. I wanna keep learning til the day I die. I met some cool people this year and lost some along the way. I know better days are ahead of me cuz I'm psychic, lol.

Hey fellow members of the community,

After giving some thoughts, I concluded the next step the Artist Community is to have a featured "Graphic Artist" and "Fine Artist" every month. You can be from anywhere in the world. In the future I will expand the category. It's the obvious thing to do, I wanted to do that from the beginning but don't have the time to look at everybody's work except the work that they posted on my page. Every Artists of the month will have their own Album in my picture gallery with 5 of their best work posted for others to critique. And one of the picture is you with your art, so I know its actually your work. I will link the work to their respective myspace profile. You will get exposure from members of the community and whoever sees your work. Details of the presentation of the artists' work will be posted at a later date. I will provide you with the basic requirements to qualify as a "Featured Artist of the Month".

My initial idea was to get artists together and network. There arent really any Art Communities out there, so I created one online. I don't have a lot of time in my hands, because I run my family owned business. However, I'm willing to provide some time on it.

The second thing that I want to do is to create some sort of project to get the members of the community involved. Im starting with the local scene first, before I go on in a national level or even in a international level. Projects that I will be hands on are all from within the Los Angeles and Orange County. If you havent noticed, I created a "Artist Community 2" for people living around my area. I want serious people who are committed in doing something with their art. I also need a team to help promote the artists. Have a legitimate business plan and we'll go from there. There's some talented and hungry artists out there. Serious inquires please, I've talked to some people that wasted my time. Don't waste mine and I wont waste yours.

I will be more active in terms of having bulletin annoucements and blog updates. So subscribe to my blog if you havent already.

Last night, I saw one of the greatest band of all time, Radiohead at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. There were a few songs I didnt recognize because Kid A, Hail to the Chief, and Amnesiac were albums that disappointed me greatly. Ok Computer and The Bends were masterpieces and Pablo Honey was their first. Tom Yorke played a few old ones, but the new songs are incredible. I cannot wait for the album to come out, gonna have to wait for 2007.

In the meantime, you can get Toms solo cd out July 11th. The new stuff gave me chills, its so good, it reminded me how great this band is. Its more vocal driven and mellow like musically. Simple and stripped down, none of that experimental, unnecessary junk. Ive been to a lot of concerts and this is one of the best. Its good to be a Radiohead fan again after being disappointed. If you like vintage Radiohead, youre gonna love their new material. Heres the setlist from last night and All I Need is the classic in the making, it might not be radio friendly though. Check out the clip from youtube.

Hello fellow artists,

I just wanna thank all of those who were so kind,  helping me out with the bulletin hacking situation. I would never put up some bulletin, asking you to add some person. Even though it was only up for like 10-15mins, a lot of you saw the unauthorized bulletin. I dont officially hate hackers like ive mentioned before, only the bad ones, theres some good ones out there. Its a bigger problem on myspace than I thought, lots of people had their profile messed with. I was fortunate nothing really happened, I just kinda panicked cuz someone put up a bulletin that I wasnt aware of. I wish I can shake all of you guys hands for your advices in person, cuz im very grateful for all your help. I tried to thank everyone who wrote to me, but I might have forget to thank some of you. So I thank all of you for your kind words and telling me your experiences with stuff like that.

Im gonna share what Ive learned from this experience to all of you. The number one thing Ive been told is to change your password (make it complex), so I did that. Get rid of the tracker program "see who is viewing your profile" if you have it, luckily I never installed it. Report it to myspace authority, not sure that helps, I got more help from people here. Here are some of the advices I got from the great members of The Artist Community.

you might no have been hacked. There are a number od bulletins and friend request things going around like this. They come into your inbox or friend request box. If you click on them to view them, they automatically add themselves to your friend list or they automatically repost a bulletin under your profile. It's really lame but it happens often. Its a simple code thing that they do. The best thing you can do is to:
1) click on safe mode from your home, then click on groups. If there are any strange things listed there, delete them all.
2) change your password(s). This is a good thing to do periodically anyway.
3) maybe set your profile to require approval for comments and such to help safeguard yourself in the future.
4) surf a little wiser and enjoy :D
I hope this helps a bit. Good luck.

Change your password. Someone my have gotten a hold of it. Remove any non-myspace programs you might be running, like auto adding people, or cencoring comments, or who's viewed your profile etc. These programs once put into your code could give the hacker access to your profile. If those don't work then you may want to check or update your antivirus and firewall programs on your computer. If you do all of that then most likely it's not you getting hacked but myspace.

If they came across your log-in information, they can come and go undetected. Just change your password/e-mail.
Oh yeah. there's also a dummy address at www.rnspace.com. If you enter your info there, it will be used against you.

did you add tracking code to your profile? [whos on my page? etc?] if you added a code it allows hackers to enter your computer and do anything they want- tracking codes are spyward. tell everyone NOT to add tracking codes

First thing you should do is start changing your password. I would try changing daily for a little while. I know this is a pain but I think it will help. If you keep seeing the problem well the person somehow can see type you password. I would then suspect that you have some kind of keylogger spyware on your computer. I would go to www.tendmicro.com for their free online spyware scan and virus scan. I use these also. Since keyloggers see what you type, I would type the password that you are going to use in a text document and then copy and paste it. That might help so the person can't see you type it. (I don't know if that works, it's a theory some people have, but its worth a try).
I would also not open anything that person is posting or sending. I would just delete it. The person could be spreading the spyware to you that way. (if the problem is spyware). Well thats all I have for advice. Its kind of hard trying to solve the problem when you your not there. So if this helps at all let me know. here is my website. www.protocolcontrol.com

hey Steve i know this sounds basic but i would change password a couple times next week
and delete all messages or friends that u dont remember adding... just do a clean up, i doubt the hackers will be able to get inagain... best wishes
Sofia

TRY TO CHANGE THE EMAIL ADDRESS ON YOUR ACCOUNT AND CHANGE THE PASSWORD 3X... MAYBE SOMEONE YOU KNOW IS ACCESSING IT, SOME PC'S U USE ASIDE FROM YOURS CAN STORE AND ACCESS EVERY ACCOUNT THAT HAS BEEN ACCESSED IN THAT PC.

ALTHOUGH, HACKERS, ACCESSING YOUR ACCT. IS POSSIBLE TOO BUT I CAN'T HELP YOU WITH THAT. THEY ARE THE KING OF CYBERSPACE, WHETHER WE LIKE IT OR NOT. MY MYSPACE OF 4 YEARS WAS HACKED AND WORSE, DELETED BY THEM. I LOST 100 BLOGS ETC. :(

create a complex password.... if you've already done that, have the folks at MySpace monitor activity on your site and compare it to actual times you've logged in... They can verify the IP address and try to file a complaint against the user of said IP addy... That could be a start.

change your pass word try a spanish or other non english language word......:) justoluis they put up a web (fakeloginpage) then you log in it tells you you didnt log in again and blammo!

Have you tried one of those myspace tracking bullitens? Those were tricks that have been hacking into myspace. It adds something to your profile so that they can get in. Same thing happened to me. If that is what happened edit your profile and look in the about me part of the profile and you will see where the spyware code is. Delet the code and save it. That should get rid of the hacking

I would suggest copying all HTML coding onto a Dreamweaver sheet or into Word Pad, and saving it to disc just in case and so that you can replace and check things that may happen along the way.

JUst wanted to let you know. About a week ago a friend of mine had the same thing happen to her.She had opened a buttetin to read, when it came up it kicked her off and she had to re-log on but what really happened was she had taken her to another sight that looks just like the my space log on page but was really some hackers screne. By loggin in he
got her e-mail address and password it wasn't till closer inspection that she saw it read "nny space" and not "myspace". It's been happening to alot of people. just remember if you get kicked off, retype in myspace.com or drop screne it.

take care,
tish

The only thing I can think of is if you logged onto your profile and didn't log off, whoever used that computer after you would still be on your account. Could be an honest mistake, could be some jackass who did hack your account.

Sorry this happened to you. I haven't had problem with hackers, but have with a stalker. That's why I say I'm 14 on my profile so only my friends can see it. I guess i'm paranoid, but there are a lot of psychos on the net. You have to be very careful what information you give out. I also know another friend of mine who had the same thing happen to him.

my guess... you have a friend with myspace tracker (aka spyware) and through that, your IP address was compromised.
i sent out a bulletin a couple days ago, a repost from a friend... myspace tracking stuff is spyware, and it tracks IP adresses - both the hosts, and anyone who visits your site. in other words, hacker heaven.
send out a message saying that you will delete people who use tracking / spyware, and why.

Most of the time it's from using a computer that is not yours....and the computer saves the login and password and the next person that uses it can get right into your account. IF you use another computer.....make sure that you use a web browser to get any place instead of using the http addy. This way it isn't as easy to track the last person that used the computer....still trackable...but not as easy. Also never save any password or login except on your own CPU.

Hope that helps a little. Best of luck.......and it's terrible what this has come to.

Troy

Did you ever add one of those "Profile Trackers" link? You know, from those Bulletins that people put up that say "See how many people are viewing your profile, add this link now, etc."
Cause once you do, you open your hardrive up to hackers and spyware. If you added the link, go back and erase it. If not, it might be some other sort of spyware. That happened to me too, someone posted bulletins under my name and I couldn't find out who.

People have actually created ADD WORMS for myspace.com. I read about it 2 weeks ago. These codes are actually pretty easy to find, but Idoubt they can do much more than that. They may not have even been in your profile. They can just do some things from outside your profile.

I wouldn't worry.

I would suggest changing your password immediately... 9 out of 10 times it is someone you know who is screwing with you.

Being a fellow "hacker" myself, it would be virtually impossible for anyone to target your account and start posting random things without knowing your username and password. Choose a password with lowercase and capital letters and numbers. Nothing that represents a word of any language... HTH.

Greg.

get a firewall on your own computer, get anri virus, aware and spy, but if its being done thru myspace and not your computer, then you really cant do to much,, but jus careful where you type your password
cus there are fake pages that have a overlappin page with a input part of your password and email, you put your info in there with out knowing and the so called hacker gets your info

I just realized I have over 20,000 members in the community and with   119,345 page views. At one point I went overseas for 2 weeks..700-800 request to join. It was then I realize, I was on to something. If you told me this 2.5 yrs ago I wouldn't have believed you. And at that time there were only 14 "clubs" and later myspace called it "groups". The Clubs consist of schools, nightclubs and a fan group of some show.

So I decided to do something creative and useful. And thinking if a few people decide to join me that would be great, a 100 members would be insane. Like they say, "If you built it, they will come."  At that time, messaging THE TOM of myspace was easy, he would respond to you quick and aswer to you directly. He promoted the site and begged people to join it, at that time he had less than 7000 members and the site would crash all the time, but to me it was better than Friendster, where I couldn't even log on.

I didn't really care, it was just fun to look at art and I would check the account 2-3 times a month. Then people kept requesting to be added, daily and they kept posting their art work. And alot of the work was very impressive. Anyway, keep up the good work and post those images no bigger than 5.5 inches I width and we're cool.
