OK- so here I go. I am now joining the blog revolution. I live in beautiful Iowa City, IA. Home of the Univ. of IA. I have been playing saxophone for 30 yrs. and have turned what was once a glorified hobby into my career. I get to play music and get paid to do so. I have just released my 2nd CD with my quartet. Any Jazz lovers out there? Don't even think about dropping Kenny G.'s name. I'm talkin about John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Cannonball Adderly, Ben Webster, Lester Young, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Man-I could go on, and on... Jazz music is the only true American form of music. It was born in New Orleans. Playing jazz is like creating something new every time you play a gig. It's like starting with a blank canvas, and your instrument is your paintbrush.  Cool. I'm all blogged out for now. Later..
