Welcome to my very first blog ever. I guess I never had something this good to rant about before. OK, the quick version of the story goes like this...
I purchased a plane ticket using Priceline.com. Ticket was to be from Nashville, TN to Grand Rapids, MI round trip. I bid a price, they accepted, they gave me a confirmation that said "origin Nashville - destination Grand Rapids." I went to print the confirmation and e-ticket and found it was WRONG. The actual flight they gave me was from Nashville to Chicago - not to Grand Rapids as I had purchased. Priceline would NOT admit to making a mistake or a computer glitch, and would NOT do anything to remedy this situation even after I provided them all the necessary proof. They offered to refund 1/2 of my purchase price if I'd like to cancel the ticket. So, I guess it's my fault that their computer had a glitch and I should be happy to pay over a $100 fee for their mistake. NO WAY JOSE!
So, this whole situation is now in the hands of the billing dispute department of American Express who (after seeing my proof) said "this shouldn't be too hard to get you a full refund on this one." I hope they rough them up a little too.
So, if you want to role the dice, feel free to use SCAMline.com. If you find you have a problem or a computer glitch, good luck with their customer service department. I highly discourage anyone from using Priceline.com for any of their travel needs. I know I NEVER will again.
UPDATE MAY 16
AMEX has now denied my cliam because priceline said it's against their policy to refund money on tickets purchased in error. GRRRRR Am I the only person that understands the error here? I'd be happy to pay for a ticket if they gave me actual ticket I bought. I'm not arguing their refund policy....my argument is I bought a ticket from Nashville to Grand Rapids - they actually gave me a ticket from Nashville to Chicago. Grrrr. I re-explained the case to AMEX. They are going to re-investigate again, but I'm not expecting any satisfaction or resolution in my favor. So, it looks as if I will have to re-book with Scamline - hope they refund my extra $100 they still have hostage - hope this time they actually give me the CORRECT ticket - and in the end I'll still be out $38.
UPDATE June 1
When all was said & done, AMEX was no help, and I ended up re-booking through Priceline and they "only charged me a $30 fee" for their mistake. Bastards! Well, lesson learned and one more repeat for anyone who cares to hear it..... Don't ever use Priceline.com for ANYTHING. I know I never will again.
