Woah!

Holy Hills Spin-Offs.

I love that all of these cute people from "the Hills" - except Heidi and Spencer - have their own shows!
Even that Brody Jenner. I don't care what anyone says - BROMANCE is the shiz!

But we are not talking about that "Hills" spin-off. We are talking about "The City"!

I love all these "reality" shows - sometimes it's OK to watch a little mindless TV.
And I love NYC, so you go Whitney - work it out in the big city and do it while I'm singing!

A song I wrote with a few talented guys (Alex Stiff - The Frequency, Luke Eddins - Luke Hits and Terrence "Montage" Taylor" was featured on "The City" this week -
EP 3 - The L Word (Another show I know and LOVE!!)

It's a little ditty called "Workin'".

I love that we wrote it so long ago and yet - it just "Works"!

Here is the link to check it on out! Go on....it's such a fun guilty pleasure....Enjoy!!!

Hello out there to all of you lovely people that have sent me comments or notes about doing "The Look Of Love" for I Think I Love My Wife.
Getting the opportunity to work with the legendary Marcus Miller was so amazing. He’s a great guy and he is and was so much fun to work with.
I thank you all profusely for all the beautiful, kind and generous words about how much you all liked the song in the movie.
I wanted to blog about this ages ago. But things got a bit crazy here in Hollywood and I’ve neglected my blogging!
I’ve tried to obtain a copy of it to post here online, but with no luck. Unfortunately, Fox Searchlight owns the rights for it and they did not release a soundtrack.
I haven’t given up and I will keep you all updated if I ever get my hands on it!
Thank you all again and I’m sure you will all hear me soon on some great feature films in the near future.

Lots of Love!

I'm sitting here with my girl Jill and we are having some wine and Sundancing!
We are about to head to the "Mysteries of Pittsburg" screening (Sienna Miller, Peter Saarsgard) and we are blogging! I wouldn't be here if weren't for the kindness (and coolness) of my two oldest and dearest friends in Hollywood. Everyone knows how hard it is to find real people in this City of Angels.
I am so thankful and so excited to be here. My buddy Anthony (see top 8) is working his entertainment writer butt off and he has come away with the coolest interviews and inside scoops from this year's festival. He landed the only interview with U2's Bono and The Edge, he's been making De Niro laugh, and got some face time with Colin Farrell at the kick off of Sundance. He's been doing it all on 8 hours total sleep!!!!!! Please check out his stories on Sundance here:

http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/movieawards/sundance/sundance-index.htm

And then check out his blog!!! He really is telling it like it is at Sundance!

Enjoy! Happy Sundancing!!!!

"Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you're really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I've got a few missing. It's OK though, because I've got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal. I have a bit of a problem though in that I can only meet the 8-color boxes. Does anyone else have that problem? I mean there are so many different colors of life, of feeling, of articulation.. so when I meet someone who's an 8-color type.. I'm like, "hey girl, magenta!" and she's like, "oh, you mean purple!" and she goes off on her purple thing, and I'm like, "no - I want magenta!""

So I don't know what made me do it, but I decided to look up quotes by John Mayer.

This morning my friend Theresa sent me this comment with a youtube link...very vague, telling me I would not be disappointed (see said quote on my page...still there). So I checked it out. It's this video footage of a guy (most likely John Mayer) playing "lovestoned/I think that she knows" by Justin Timberlake, but he's not showing his face. He only lets you see him playing the guitar. Funny and not disappointing.

Many of my friends on the space and in general know that I am a huge John Mayer fan. I like lots of artists but he's always sort of remained a big favorite. Every time he's released an album the contents have always inevitably made its way into the soundtrack of my life. I know based on the picture above he clearly doesn't look like he could deliver the goods (or maybe he does - depending on your taste). But, he gets me every time.

Living in Hollywood for about a decade almost completely guarantees the chance meeting of random celebrities. He was one of mine a few years ago. It was really cool, because once I met him, turned out we knew a lot of the same people. Gotta love LA.

Basically seeing that little video today, with just him playing (doubt it could have been anyone else), made me remember how much of a fan I was and still am. It also made me really excited to think that one of my favorite musicians and artists is going to be putting out something really worthwhile in the near future and I can't wait.

Hellloooooooooooooooooo! I have no idea why I just did that.

It felt good though. Right from the diaphram.

HA.

My good buddy Mr. Anthony Brezni-CAN has started blogging and he's inspired me to do the same. He's been blogging about all kinds of stuff, he's a writer - a very good one - so he's really good at it.

Let's see if I can't give him a run for his money.

As many of you know the record is OUT! What a crazy ride that was - see blog below.

2007 was another strange and exciting year. People came and people left. I've started a whole other batch of songs in my head, I should start writing them down soon. I sang in a really smart and hilarious comedy - saw my name on the big screen again, that's always fun. I'd never been to NYC and I went twice in one year. I got my passport. I went to Canada. I met lots of cool new people and caught up with some old ones. Whew!

2008 is starting off with a quiet bang. I'm going to a little festival called Sundance. Proving to be a killer week of watching movies and hurting myself attempting to Snowboard. I'm hoping to get placement in some great shows and movies this year. Gonna do some shows here and in NYC and continue to keep on trucking.

Let's see where the year takes me.....

I'm sitting here with producer/songwriter/drummer/musician ex·tra·or·di·naire (otherwise known as Scott Seiver), and I am so EXCITED. Today is FINALLY our last day of recording. It's been a little over a year and so much has happened in both of our lives, a marriage, several holidays, friendships, new people, new experiences, I could go on and on.

Anyway, I haven't "blogged" in a while and I figured today was quite appropriate. I'm closing a chapter and starting the new and plot thickening one I've been waiting for.

I know. Cheese. That's me.

Things left to do:
Name Album
Pick Song Order
Master
Print

I have to let you know that the album making process is NO JOKE. I think Scott and I have learned so much from this whole thing.

I have been singing for other people in the studio for years, never my own project. Having to write, sing lead and background vocals, doing it on the most non-existent budget on the planet, working blindly on faith, Starbucks, Pho', instinct, talent, and the kindness and patience of one awesome person. . . you get the picture.

I am so grateful that I've met someone like Scott. Through him, I've been lucky enough to meet some of the best musicians in Los Angeles. Those guys made the music really come to life.

So I am now ranting. I can't help it.

I'm really happy, excited, tired, thankful, and kind of sad that this is all over.

Cliche Alert - "All good things must come to an end." - to make room for lots more good things!!!!!

Alright, time to put this puppy to bed. . .and finish mixing this bad boy.

-Thanks to all of the amazing musicians that were a part of making this record. I can't wait to share this with all of you.

Current mood:  calm

Well, as I read my last blog, things have 100%changed!!! Never made it permanently to Silverlake, found my true inspiration is Hollywood and Heartbreak. Can't seem to get away from either of them. But now I've gotten back on track, writing and singing for the most part full time now, trying to keep my head above water financially and just remember that being alone now is really only character building. I'm writing with my old girl Emiley who is featured playing guitar on Happy Girl (first song on my page) and my new girl Dionna---these are two women who are the bomb musically in their own right!!! I'm being inspired by the old stuff, some new stuff, and really just the shit I've been through in the past year....so with this new blog, I may be switching pages...and making this the main one as soon as I can get some of my stuff up here....soon, soon, soon I hope! Take care all!

been in the studio recording....moving to Silverlake to get more artistic inspiration. I've been writing alot and I think all of this holiday madness has actually helped me stay focused...laid a couple songs down and now we're working on instrumentation...I hear alot of old school instruments...it's very hard to decide when you have an overactive imagination. I'll post the new stuff soon! E
