In some weird twist of fate, this Wednesday you can get more of me than even my wife would want to deal with.

3 new comics on the shelf at one time.

We start with from Image, the collaboration with Niles, Frank and Mayhew.... the third issue of SAVAGE with more Big Foot versus Werewolf action in it than you can shake... uhm... a big foot at.

Second, I return to Zenescopes Grimm Fairy Tales series with one of the most obscure tales yet: The Three Snake Leaves. And trust me, if you read Sinbad, you don't want to miss this one.

And finally, in the aformentioned Sinbad... we have the 6th and final chapter of Sinbad and the Eyes of Fire. Can Sinbad and his crew defeat the dreaded Kabrit Amud and retrieve the Sunfury Amulet? If you think I'm going to tell you, buzzzzzzzz... not happening. Buy the book.

So run.. don't walk.. to your local shops on Wednesday and look for the VERY special Holiday covers on both Grimm and Sinbad... you might have to pry them out of your retailers hands.

Remember.. comics make a great stocking stuffer.

November was a down month for me. Didn't get a lot of writing done. But I did a crap load in September and October so a down month was fine. Spent a chunk of the time on a road trip to Dallas.

So now we are into December and I'm trying to get back into the work groove. Did some editorial changes to two scripts today. Caught up on some reading (Brubaker's Captain America and some old Jack Kirby Demon stories) and then dug out one of my favorite DVD's, Network.

If you haven't seen Network, its is one of the most amazing films you will ever see. The acting is good, but the writing is prophetic in nature. So much of what we see in the movie, shown to be absurd at the time, is now common place over 30 years later. They were telling us about sensationalism and the dumbing down of America before the terms even existed.

Now tonight, after I type this, I'm going to read the new Josh Dysart Unknown Soldier comics. I have issue 1 and 2 that I have been saving to where I can sit down and enjoy them without distraction.

Tomorrow I will either try to take over the world... or buy some new carpet for the bedroom.

Just a quick note.

I am at Wizard World Texas this weekend. The show starts today at noon at the Arlingtong Convention Center and runs through Sunday.

I will be set up in artist alley table 2760. I will be next to Tone Rodriguez as usual. I will also be signing at the Zenescope booth at some point (schedule to be decided) and the Lone Star Comics booth on Saturday from 3 to 4.

Tone and I are doing a Wizard School panel called Writer vs Artist at 1 pm on Sunday in room M11.

Also, my avatar image is the Wizard World Texas exclusive cover for Sinbad 4 that will be on sale this weekend. There should also be the regular cover versions available.

If you are coming to the show, come by and say HI.

I have been writing like made lately, turning out a new script just about every 3 days for the last 6 weeks. Three new Sinbad scripts, three Grimm Fairy Tales scripts, a short story adaptation, a new creator owned script, plot ideas for a few companies and now I'm working on the Beyond Wonderland Annual before jumping back to more Sinbad. This is why there hasn't been a lot of blog updates lately.

Also, near the end of September I was going to attend a convention in Sacramento. I left here the day before heading to Tone Rodriguez's house to pick him up and ended up in a four-car collision on the freeway. It was my first accident and not something I ever want to do again. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt. I got some bumps, bruises and cuts but that's about it. My truck that I love, that has taken me to Dallas, Seattle and a host of other wonderful place, was in pretty bad shape though. Amazingly I was able to drive it home 40 miles after the accident, but I pretty much took it straight to the repair shop knowing it was going to be a while. Looks like another week before I get it back, but I didn't know till this morning that there was a potential of it being 'totaled' by the insurance company and that would have broken my heart. As it goes, the truck should be back next week and then Tone and I will need to start making our plans for a trip to Dallas once more.

The end of this month should see the debut of SAVAGE, a book I worked on with Steve Niles, Jeff Frank and Mike Mayhew. It's a four-issue mini from Shadowline/Image. Also as the order catalogues come up. Look for from Zenescope: 1001 Arabian Nights: The Adventures of Sinbad (which you are already supposed to be doing), GRIMM FAIRY TALES 33-35 and the BEYOND WONDERLAND annual. And over at IDW, look for the new DARK DELICACIES anthology; I adapt an F Paul Wilson story in the first issue.

Now back to work.

Quick update as I've been swamped with writing this month and about to head out to a con.

Work wise: I've just finished the script for Sinbad 8 & 9. I also wrote Grimm Fairy Tales 33 - 35 and adapted an F. Paul Wilson story for the new Dark Delicacies anthology coming out from IDW in January. So its been a busy busy month.

I will be at a convention this weekend in Sacramento. www.fromthelandbeyond.com which is a 2 day horror con and then there is a 1 day comic con at the same place on Sunday... or so I'm told.

Also, I did an interview for Jazma-online that you can read: http://www.jazmaonline.com/interviews/interviews2008.asp?intID=188

And for anyone who is a fan of rockabilly/punk... you really should check out Room 19 by Wolfgang Parker. I'm loving this CD... downloaded it from iTunes. You can find them here on myspace at http://www.myspace.com/wolfgangparker

And for those of you planning ahead, I will be at Wizard World Texas around the same time as the release of issue 1 of Savage...

More soon...

I haven't blogged in a while. Been insanely busy with scripts, fixing up the house and trying to figure out what the strings are for on those guitars.

I've been learning the bass for the last few months, getting decent enough that I'm willing to practice in front of other people... so its a start.

As you can see though, I'm a tad obsessive with the guitars. The five basses are mine. The three on the far right are the wives. She seems to think the wall is unbalanced. Why 5? Well the Warlock was one of the early ones I got a few years back when I thought I could teach myself adn the acoustic was if I wanted to go outside and practice. The 6-string Tune was an insanely good deal for a monster. But my two babies are The Schecter Diamond Series Stilletto and the Fender Jazz Bass. I switch between those most of the time depending on what I want to play.

Deb uses the Ibanez the most but will get out the Stratocaster when we are trying to do something more bluesy and the ESP is tuned to Drop D because we want to try some Foo Fighter songs.

The cat in the photo is Panther, she plays the tamberine but refuses to do so on film.

I know there are some other guitar players out there. I would love to hear or even see what you guys play. Lets hear from you all. I can't be the only one that has more guitars than he should.

Heard this last week:

A guy is flying to Hawaii and as the plane is coming in for a landing, he hears this amazing drum beat - boom bada boom bada boom bada.... On the way off the plane he asked the stewardess about it. She said "Drum beat good, pray drum never stops."

Later he's in a taxi on the way to his hotel and he hears the drum beat again - boom bada boom bada boom bada... he asks the driver about it and the driver says "Drum beat good, pray drum never stops."

He goes into the hotel and checks in at the desk where he still heres the drum - boom bada boom bada boom bada... and asks the clerk who only says: "Drum beat good, pray drum never stops."

After getting his stuff put away, the man wanders down to the bar for a drink and still hears the drum - boom bada boom bada boom bada... so he asks the bartender about them, the bartender starts to say "Drum beat good... " but the man interupts. "Yes I know, pray they never stop.. .but why? What happens if the drums stop?" The bartender shows fear in his eyes and looks around the room before answering....

"Bass solo."

This was told to me by the guy teaching me the bass guitar. He plays lead in a band. Why do bass players get no love? Why lord? Why?

Current mood:  bouncy

From outter space... I just walked in to see that stupid look upon your face, I should have change...

Okay... not disco, sorry.

Back from the con and feeling up to speed again. Got more projects to do at the same time than I could have ever imagined so this is going to be a short update.

Con thanks - Gus and Tone for sharing a booth. Marat for hosting a cool party. IDW for the same thing. Tyler for helping me out and being an A 1 assistant. Joss for being freaking awesome in every way and for taking a taxi cab to the Jack n the Box drive thru.... and Jim and Jerry for keeping me up right.

And to the SD Paramedics and the owner of the Tilted Kilt... uhm... thanks and sorry. (don't ask)

Lots of new Sinbad stuff on the horizon. People seem to be enjoying the book, well I'm about to crank out the next story arc and its going to get real fun. Also Savage is moving along like a freight train... seeing Mike's art on it is just a joy.

Added a song to my profile, not something I normally do but I'm learning the bass guitar and Everlong is my "song to learn" right now so I figure I would share the real version with everyone.

Back to work for now. More of a real update soon.

Best to all.

I'm two hours our from going down to Comic-Con. I'll be at booth 5335 with Tone Rodriguez and Gus Higuera. Also helping us with the booth will be Jocelyn Dupas and Tyler Dranguet... (suddenly we sound very international).

I'll have copies of Sinbad 0, 1 and possilby 2. Also Strange Case 4 and a copy or two of the Unusual Suspects.

Just so you know, my new con policy is once I sell out of the stock I bring, it becomes a kissing booth... so buy appropriately. (and no I will not kiss Tone or Gus... unless you paid a lot)

Hope to see you all there.
