Hopefully that's that. If it gets hacked again, I'm probably going to delete this account. I don't want or need a liability like that.

So, it looks like (much to my pleasant surprise) that myspace.com has backed off on it's policy of completely claiming everything you post on myspace thanks to Billy Bragg, which means my music can live on myspace again (in addition to the recently updated Nekodashi.) I'm even uploading tracks while I'm writing this post. Meanwhile, I think I'll go buy Mermaid Avenue next I time order from Amazon to show some appreciation for the man who helped insure that thousands of amateur musicians don't end up on some crappy compilation or Fox News expose against their will. Besides, from what I've heard off the disc (various tracks on the public radio stations here over the years,) it's pretty great anyway. PS: No, I don't have a working crosspost plugin, I manually did this. I have to put some news up here, especially since I guess I'll have more use for this than just keeping tabs on my friends :D

Ok, after reading Overcompensating this week, I've decided to pull my music from Myspace. As it stands, there is still the possibility of my music turning up somewhere where I have no ability to control it, and I'd rather not see it on a Fox network (yes folks, Myspace is owned by NewsCorp if you didn't know that already. We're all a degree away from Bill O'Reilly and Matt Groening.) I mean, as it stands, the songs I've posted could turn up like that. However, atleast it won't be that easy or obvious for people I think. Probably not. Ah well. Lesson learned. PS: I've manually crossposted this to Myspace.

Buckle Up - A protest song about Cartoon Network - lyrics
So how, I know something is wrong with making a serious nerdcore track, but whatever. Cartoon Network now stands shoulder to shoulder with 4kids as CN is only the second company I've written protest rap about. So, kudos. NOTE: View my real blog here

Remember when MTV ran music videos? And I mean, not ran them all the time, but also ran a wide variety of them? All sorts of genres and visual styles and from pretty much anywhere English was intelligible? Remember how it all started with one non-music show, and before you knew it, they were garbage 24/7, including the few music videos they aired? The M doesn't even mean anything any more.
Cartoon Network (CN) is the new MTV. This is because they've just announced that they'll be running 3 effectively live action films through out November: Small Soldiers, Honey I Shrunk The Kids and The Goonies. Now, I won't call them bad movies (ok, Small Soldiers is meh, but Honey I Shrunk The Kids and The Goonies are enjoyable,) but they have absolutely no business being on a Cartoon Network. And maybe if no one watches it, they'll see the error of their ways. Actually, they'll probably just keep running them even they get horrible ratings (and they'll probably do passably.) And if it's successful, well, pretty soon I'll be saying the same thing about CN that I said about MTV.
Remember when CN ran music cartoons? And I mean, not ran them all the time, but also ran a wide variety of them? All sorts of genres and visual styles from pretty much anywhere as long as it had an English audio track? Remember how it all started with a few live-action movies, and before you knew it, they were garbage 24/7, including the few animated series they aired? The C doesn't even mean anything any more.
Or atleast it won't soon enough. NOTE: View my real blog here

Just watched the first episode of Paradise Kiss. You know, I've been waiting all year for an anime like this - something that's really neat and fresh. I mean, maybe it's just that in a sea of garbage, even the dimmest gem shines like a fine diamond. However, I really think it's an issue of real quality. It is pretty well made, and it's got a style and design that agrees with me (so pretty and elegant.) It has a sense of humor I can get into (great use of SD and even Looney Tunes-like humor.) It has good music. It has good characters. I mean, it's a pretty straightforward fairy tale - buttoned down girl broadens her horizons and becomes a pretty model. It's not necessarily life changing stuff, atleast not yet, but it's got a level quality and style that's just been lacking in this year's batch of new anime. It's nice to see a short show that's not just fanboy fodder (KamiChu comes close to fulfilling that requirement, though it's a little too light at points - kinda uneven - not like I can make great evaluation of it since noone is subbing it regularly.) Maybe it's just fangirl fodder instead, but if it is, it's at the excellent, worth-while end of that spectrum. Maybe it just hits a lot of the right notes with me personally, and it's crap to most people, but I don't particularly care if that's the case. Never have been.
To put it another way, I'm really really looking forward to the next episode, and I already wish it was licenced so I could look forward to DVDs with high-rez video. Haven't had that feeling since... well, Beck.

I've come to the conclusion that the only thing left in my computer that's still the same as when I first put it together is the case and maybe the floppy drive. Even the RAM, twice now (SDRAM -> DDR, DDR -> DDR that is not broken and a large part of my headaches from hell.) However, it seems to be working again now after all that hassle (and nLite slipstreamed XP.) Hopefully this is a trend that sticks around for more than a few hours. ^_^'''
In more interesting news, I help Zoe price a bunch of stuff for ebay and I got a couple doujinshi for my trouble (not that it was really any trouble; it was fun just to hang out and help out a friend,) though I would/should pay her for them. I got a fairly (barely?) clean PPG doujinshi, and an clean CCS doujinshi. Both are insanely cute, so yay for me. Even good wallpaper fodder with little help from GIMPshop.NOTE: View my real blog here
