Today a dude called Yves Rossy, from Switzerland, has been the first man to ever fly with wings with reactors attached on his back...

He's 49. He flew from up 2500 meters!

He's the first flying man in the World. And it's not all over the news. The World has turned so crazy and hectic that news like that aren't even big news anymore...

it's the end of the season for me.
I'm leaving the continent. I'm leaving NYC. I'm leaving Brooklyn. I'm leaving Ridgewwod, Queens and my temporary roommates. J and A: the awesomest...

It has been great. As usual NYC welcomed me grandly.
I got to play with the most talented and easy going musicians in the world.
Thanks Sam and Simon from the Wowz for your trumpets and guitar solos. Nan Schwervon! you'll always be my hottest drummer.
Daoud, you great dancer, you rock the drums. Seeya in Paris in a couple weeks.
Liv your bass was enchanting.
Angela. From the Babyskins. I write songs all year long wherever I am with her harmonies in mind and when I finally come here and we play shows it's like they finaly make sense.

I discovered great new bands that I'll keep with me on the way:
The Creaky Boards, Soft Black, Darwin Deez...

I cought up with the everlasting greatest perdormers: Jeffrey Lewis, The Wowz, TheBabyskins, Turner cody, Schwervon!, Rachel Lipson, Toby Goodschank, The Purple Organ, ...

I went to the beach every other day with my better me, met some old dudes from Rockaway Beach at the Sand Bar, where the music is the best in the whole state!

I ate too much junk food, walked bridges, sat on fire escapes.

I bought MY guitar heheehe..

Now I'm going to Sweden. It'll be awesome.

Someday maybe I'll get to stay here, in Brooklyn. Amoungst the things and ones who make me blossom and improve.

Until then somewhere sometime and be good..

Happy summer!

Here I am in Brooklyn again. I had been away for a long year. Too long. Maybe it's good though. 'Cause everyday I spend here I realise how precious this city is to me.

The day I arrived I was back to playing with all my "musical friends" (I stole that expression from a Sussex lady..)

All the bands I know and am lucky enough to play with here are so so so great. They can play in front of 2 or 20000 people, It will always be the best show ever and with so much cool!
No soundcheck, no stress, no one gets payed either. Which is nuts. When you think of all these shitty bands that get payed bucks and bucks to play in europe and here no one gets nothing and still they play as many shows as they can, and they're all so good!

I've been living in Ridgewood with 2 g-friends. I love this area. One of them is my dear Angela from the BabySkins. She played me the songs of her friend DARWIN DEEZ.

And man oh dude!
I'm obsessed with them!
I keep walking bridges, taking trains, and hanging around blocks just to listen to his record in my i-pod!
It's so poppy. SOSOSOSO poppy. And I mean the BEST by it.

He plays this crazy guitar that he invented. It's some sort of Strat with only 4 strings that he tunes weirdly. Over electronic beats. He's got a beautiful high-peeched voice and the lyric are also amazing!
Every couple of songs he does dances that kick ass, too, when it's a show.
The other night he performed a set at Cackeshop in NYC with Angela as a backing vocalist and dancer and it was one of the best bands I've seen in years!

I hear all theses pop bands that are becoming huge in europe, like these kids Hercules and Love Affair or stuff like that.
And I'm like: if only people could get to hear this brilliant pop they would freak out!

Yo.
I just updated my band members section on this page.
And added 4 Brazilian people. People that I didn't even know existed a few weeks ago. And now we built music, played music, recorded music together.
Today I counted the number of poeple that have recorded some of my music with me in the past few years and it comes to 40! 40 people: in England, the US, France, Brazil, that have been part of my recordings. I'm so happy. And so lucky.
I could have just went on vacation here in Brazil. It would already have been amazing. I could have been just on tour here in Brazil. It would have already been amazing. (ring a bell?..).
But I now have a little world here. Friends that I've met, with whom I've travelled, whose family I lived with for a few weeks. Musicians I've seen the shows of, and that have played with me, and that have recorded with me.
People I hope I will meet again on the other side. And I hope I will be as good a host as they have been to me..
