Fusion Radio Chicago came to life when former stations Pure Pulse Radio and Energy Internet Radio combined into one amazing dance station powerhouse. Today it's known as one of the largest commercial dance internet radio stations in the world.
PURE PULSE RADIO'S START
Introduced on June 10, 2003, as a new light to the dance culture. The goal was simple and pure: To create a permanent Dance music outlet in Chicago, while creating a world-class radio station.
In August 2003, the company signed it's first six-month contract with Charlie's Nightclub in downtown Chicago making it it's first resident club and aired it's first live broadcast on October 3, 2003.
By September 2003, the station hosted it's first premier of Amber's exclusive interview with new material. The Amber interview was one of the first internet dance station artist interviews and a tradition that was soon to continue.
On January 1, 2004, the station and website re-launched with a new face and new slogan, The Future of Dance. The station also launched a trial music video stream called PPR TV (400k) and Widestream broadcasted at 160k.
As a leader of new dance music, in May 2004, Pure Pulse Radio merged the sounds of Energy Internet Radio together with Pure Pulse Radio to form Fusion Radio Chicago.
In the spring of the following year, FUSION officially ranked below 50,000 on Alexa web ranking, ahead of any Chicago radio broadcast station and ranked as the 4th largest commercial dance internet dance station and the number 1 internet station in Chicago.
In the spring of 2005, FUSION joined focus with ChicagoPride.com and Boi Magazine to help spread the word about each cause and in June of 2005, FUSION participated in it's second promotional event during the Chicago Pride Parade and Market Day Festival.
A paring in January 2006, produced FUSION'S first continuous broadcast from Circuit Nightclub in Downtown Chicago.
In the summer of 2006, FUSION participated in the Chicago Pride Parade and presented a live performance by billboard SMASH-HIT performing artist, Jenna Drey.
In 2007, Fusion Radio Chicago broke ground by moving all equipment to a new high tech studio in Evanston illinois. Now that the Studio was fully adequate, Fusion Started Broadcasting LIVE Shows. Dave Tripper LIVE(Fuse news, Top100) Started in January 2007 and is Fusion's longest running show. Skyler Night(Saturdays 6-10) officially hit the air on March 17. March31st Brought New onair Personality Skyler to have his first LIVE event. This event was hosted at Chicago's Ontourage night club. The Fusion Promo girls and others were on hand. DJ's KJ and Alex Peace as well as Nicky Beatz were all Spinning LIVE on the Fusion airwaves. Fusion also Broadcasting LIVE at Suburban "Privilege Ultra Lounge in Schaumburg IL but was shortlived.
In June Fusion Participated in Chicago's Pride Parade with Billboard Dance artist Danielle Bollinger(Kiss the sky, Surrender me). Soon after this, More and more artists and events starting happening. Fusion Hosted World renouned Dance Artist Amber @ Circuit Night Club(Circuitclub.com) as well as hosted a VIP Afterparty on Wrigleyfields Famous rooftops. August Brought Fusion's 2nd Largest Event, Market Days Which is the midwests largest 2 day street festival. Fusion broadcasted LIVE all weekend outside Circuit Nite Club and was Sponsored by Monster Energy Drink. Kyle AKA Kyle the Intern which was Skyler Night's Intern for his saturday show took over Sundays night with a new mixshow entitled "Club Fusion". Club Fusion has been promoting DJ's Big and small and from all over. Some Include: Shawn Edwards, DJ Inphinity, DJ Xcel, The Icons, Gabriel and Dresden, to name a few.September DJ Encore made a "out of the Blue" appearance @ our studio and had a live interview. we appreciate him stopping by.
Today, FUSION RADIO CHICAGO continues to grow capturing the eye of the dance music industry. With nearly 1.9 million tune-ins, FUSION ranks as the 4th largest commercial internet dance station on the web and runs a leading dance music website.
