Hey all you out there in myspace land. I wanted to let you guys know that we have enjoyed this year seeing new faces and seeing old one's. We have enjoyed each and every band that we had the pleasure to meet and enjoyed all the venues that we had the pleasure to play.This year has been a defining moment in our band as God is taking us all individually and corporatly as a band to new and exciting levels spitirtually. We are taking the remainder of this year off to do a couple of things.
One, we are taking the rest of the year off to write for the new record (name and release date yet to be determined). It is very hard for us as a band to focus the PROPER amount of time to writing new material and play shows at the same time. With this new album everything is being thought out very well to make sure that the music is top notch to God's standards. We for once as a band our actually thinking things out musically and not just throwing this riff in there just because it's heavy or what not, we are actually thinkin about the song as a whole and also writing the music that will take the lyrics to a whole new place which leads me to my second reason we are taking some time off.
Secondly, like I said earlier: The last few months have been a roller coaster for us spiritually. For those of you who have read some of are earlier blogs one in particular called (I believe) "What has Bloodine been up to" or something like that, you found that when we were at Cornerstone this year God moved us to take our band to more of a ministry band as opposed to just a Christian band. Ever since God has led our band down this path we have encountered up's and down's spiritually which I am so thankful for. I am thankful because God is preparing us and bringing all of us to a whole new understanding of him and what he wants and desires to do through us. God is preparing our hearts so that we may be able to see him more clearly and getting our fleshly sinful ways out of the picture so we can in turn be more in tune with him. So some time off had to come as we are walking through this change in our lives. We COULD NOT be a full on out ministry band without him chasening us and making sure that we are where we need to be spiritually because without that how can we be fully effective if we are not where we need to be. 

I want to say that now more than ever I count it a huge blessing to have gotten to know all of you over the past 6 or 7 years and I also want you to know that we love all of you more than you will ever know. Thank you for anyone who has ever come and watched us play, bought our music/merch, anyone who has ever helped us promote a show, anyone who is what we like to call you our family as opposed to a fan....thank you. I am not going to tell you the cliche thing that every band tends to say in this moment that "we couldn't have done this without you" because you already know that, what I am going to say is thanks for joining our Coalition. You see everytime that you pray for us, or resend out a bulletin promoting a show, or tell someone about one of our shows, or just simply supporting in whatever way: You are helping us get our message out to people and that message is Simple: Jesus Christ is THE ONLY way to get to heaven without him we are nothing, Jesus Christ is the only person that has and always will be there for you whether you feel him at the moment or not, God is a God of judgement as well especially for those who call themselves Christian but deny him by there lifestyle, God also can make all of your dreams and aspirations line up in your life according to his purpose, and there are several more but in particaular the last part that I wanted to mention is God can forgive you for ANYTHING you have done if you call upon his name and ask for forgivness and repentance which just means to turn away from those sins. That is our message and each person from this point in the future who gets a touch from the Lord at one of our shows will be a direct result of you leading them to that show or telling them about God, or your prayers. See you are just as much a part of this ministry as we are just like the janitor (not saying that you are janitors just an example) at church, you wouldn't want to go hear that profound message given by God that could ultimatly change your life forever if the church stinks and is unclean...would ya? I wouldn't!! SO therefore thank you for all the help you have given and are going to help with so the message of Christ and what he did on calvary go to these people that need it.

So in turn thank you for reading this very long blog and know that I can't help it, I guess I just always have alot to say. Please Please Please if you never do anything for our band again please keep us in your prayers as we need it now more than ever before as we take on this new endeavour in our band. We want the power of God all over this cd, that it will touch lives and change them forever through the lyrics and the music that is on it and pray for our shows in the future that we will make our shows LIKE a church experience for people who may never darken the doors of a church but that we give people the truth of God without condemnation which sometimes happen in the church. That is only something that can be achieved by the holy spirit hence why we need more than just us praying about this. So please join our coalition and stand together with us as we take this world over for God one person at a time. Pray for REVIVAL!!!! I want you guys to also know that we will keep you in our prayers as well and if you have any prayer requests or praises we would love to know about them so we can pray specifically for them. We will see you guys winter of next year, so please be blessed and latch on to God stronger than ever. We will keep in touch and hope that you will do the same!!!!

Bloodline Severed  

Well I am writing this blog for a couple of reasons. I want to let you know what we are up to as of lately, we have been very quite as of lately and I want to explain why. I also want to kinda follow up on the rest of our trip at Cornerstone, as I know that David I believe let you guys in on the happenings at Cornerstone the first couple of days we were there, I want to finish telling you about the rest of the week and tell you some things thats on my heart and the bands heart in hopes that it will tie all of these topics in together. So here goes:

First off we have been quite this month and I don't invision us playing alot for the rest of the year. Yes we are going to play shows because we all love to play, minister, and of course hang out with you guys. However we are knee deep in writing this new record and it is going rather slow to say the least (which is ok) so we need to concentrate alot more time on that right now. I really think that you guys are going to dig the new songs, God is really maturing us as a band and maturing us in are writing style. Thats why it is going so slow, before we could write music very fast and I think you could tell it not to say that what we wrote was bad it just didn't take alot of thought. Now we are really digging within ourselves as a band and truly thinking about everything that is put in these songs, from a lyrical and musician standpoint. Most IMPORTANTLY we are learning to let God have complete control over our writing, I will go more into that a little later. Everyone and every band has to grow up at some point and start writing from there heart as opposed to writing music from there head. Which leads me perfectly into the next couple topics that I will tie in together and that's Cornerstone and what changes happened in us while we were there.

Thursday we headlined another night on the Sanctuary Stage, the people with Sanctuary ministries and church were so nice and good to us. We greatly appreciate there hospitality and hope that we get to play there stage again next year. Friday was an off day for us as it was the only day we were down there that we didn't play. This was good though, it allowed us to go see some bands and hangout with people and other bands as well. Let's see David, myself (corey), Aaron, Travis (our brother), John, and Amy (John's friend) all went to see Impending Doom that night on the HM stage. Now let me tell you I personally have seen Impending Doom once before as I have been a fan of there's for a while now. What I like about them so much is what all the rest of the guys got to experience for the first time. I have been in metal music and this scene for a while now and I have seen bands come and go but these guys are the most heaviest band I have ever scene live and heard recorded, I really don't know how anyone could ever be HEAVIER than these guys are, but more importantly than that they have such a heart for the Lord. They are not only heavy musically but they are just as heavy spritually, I personally have never heard a band be that heavy and give so much glory to God, it was like being at church with a super heavy praise and worship band. I started to think about that for a minute after the show (to myself) and I thought how sad is that and then thank the Lord I started to feel convicted, I am in a band that is heavy and we don't do anything like that. If I am being honest with you guys, I (being the mouth piece of the band) I get up there and say the same ole cliche crap every other christian band says and that is "We are a christian band and we love God with all our heart, if you don't know him please come and talk to us about it" blah blah blah......to me I was convicted because that is just a waste of time for me and our band personally. I am not trying to rain on anyone's parade, some people are called to do different things but for us it's a waste of time. I have always felt that God was pushing us to be a MINISTRY band, based solely on that MINISTRY, in other words music/being in a band comes second to the ministry and the purpose that God has laid on our heart as a band. That simply put is to bring the worship and praise to the one who deserves it in a very special/ HEAVY way. God looks at the heart and he also wants to use things that are different. I think so many times we as Christians put God in such a box, it is no wonder why the "church" as a whole looks down on our music and thats because God isn't in it, he may be in a portion of it but he can only do through you and your music what you allow him to. If want to see chains of sin broken off peoples lives, or lives saved, or healing, all the things that you see in church: You can but you can't do that by putting him in a box, neither can a church for that matter and there's alot of them that do. It all goes back to our agendas and for me and this band we say to HELL with those agendas, I have told the guys the same thing and we have all agreed that never again will we get on that stage with our agenda in mind, we will get on that stage and let him have full reign on our music and will let him out of the box and allow some church to happen. We have been a band for 7 or so years now, we have played countless shows, we have played the "big" festivals, we have done enough on our own power and NEVER again will we do that. I want to have some church, I want to see kids in the pit that praise God how we praise God whether it's head banging, moshing, hard core dancing, raising your hands before an almighty God: however it is that you praise. I want to see kids praise that way not to look cool in front of there friends, I want to see kids do it becasue this is how we praise our KING, you know the church has there way to praise well come to our church and let's praise him the way that we praise. I want to see the power of God come down and people to fall on there faces before God including myself realizing how unworthy we are for his love, his grace, and his mercy but thanking him for those very things that save us from an enternity of damnation in hell. I just want to see him move in a special way with no regard for how I want it to go. I want to see kids that could give a crap less about  hardcore, metal, death metal, death core, whatever I just want to see kids that don't base there likes and dislikes based on genre. I do know that we are not all into the same styles of music but what I want to see is that people far surpase that and let's all come together for worship of the one who deserves it. Let's be alot less concerned about what we look like or hating a song cause it has a breakdown or because it doesn't, let's come together maturely and realize that we are not there for a show but we are there to worship. This can be another blog later but just on that subject:::DIVISION can tear this world, your life, this scene apart...look at what it's done in the church.....Let's all come together not dividing ourselves on our musical tastes, what religion you are, what ever..let's come together in one accord to see God's name lifted higher PERIOD!!! Anyway we can talk later about that.
In saying this I know that alot of people are proberbly going Oh great Bloodline Severed is going to be these super holy rollers and bascially condemn us for everything. You know what, I will not condemn you or be "holier than thou", I will tell you what God says but I will not look down upon anything that you do or have done because trust me I have been there and done that. Who am I to judge you or condemn you for the things that you have done, I am flesh of mortal man but I am also the mouth piece of God as well and I must speak the truth or your blood will be on my hands and I love you to much to let that happen. I am a sinner myself, saved only by the grace of God: I am a liar, I have had pre marital sex, I have drank alcohol for the sole purpose of getting drunk and doing alot of things when I was drunk that I am ashamed of, I have been and still struggle sometimes with pornography, I have dabbled with drugs, I have done alot of things that I am ashamed of and that I am not proud of, so I am not one to judge you but if I am being honest with you and myself: these things will drag you to hell or make it hell here on earth. God says all liars will have there place in hell, so how can we stop these things::::ONLY BY HIS POWER, HIS GRACE, AND HIS MERCY can we experience true forgiveness and repentence.

So this is what Bloodline Severed has been up to writing music and doing some internal changing, well needed changes. This is why the wrinting process is going a little slow because even we are having to let God take full control over what is played or sung and sometimes it is hard to do but we have to learn to let go and let God. We want to write this music so that God is all over it so he can have full reign over our "service" if you will. If you guys need anything I want to use this myspace page as what it was created for and that is family and friends a way to get on here and communicate. So I am begging that you guys will communicate with us and let us know what your stuggling with and we will pray for you and lift you up to the one who LOVES you more than anything and desires to change your life, IF YOU LET HIM. Give it up and Give it to Him, there's where you find etenity, fogiveness, and happiness. We love you guys and know that we have your back and are here for you.

BLoodline Severed

This is a brief version and look into what was an exciting trip to Cornerstone '09:

Bloodline packed their bags, the van and the trailer and left out on Tuesday evening headed to Illinois. After a few bathroom/food breaks and (1) longer stay at Walmart (where this elderly man thought he was going to see Jesus crossing the road) we finally arrived 15 hours later (Wednesday afternoon)to Bushnell Illinois. Now let me back up, in case u havent gone or are planning on a trip in the future...be warned! When you leave the interstate you will be in for a 70+ mile adventure on a 2 lane backwoods road of nothing more than cornfields and windmills. Did I mention cornfields???LOL

Anyways back to Cornerstone.....we arrived and thanks to Derek and Amy which had been there before we were able to find a nice large open campsite close to the Sanctuary and Anchor stages which we played frequently. Well we thought the space was open until we parked and unloaded the van and set up out tents at which time we were told by another band that the space was theirs. We looked for several minutes and didnt find their name etched in the grass so we decided we would stay right where we were.
They were reluctant to be friends with us until we sung the "I love you, you love me" song inspired by our friend the purple dinosaur Barney. NOT really but they eventually got over it....we think!

So we set up our tents on a nice (cool) afternoon and then prepared for our set later that evening...um I mean early that next morning (we went on stage at 1:00am)
Our set was really tight and everyone there was pleased....so off to bed we went happy and content.
