I spent the weekend with my wife, Debbie, watching 3 of my grandchildren... 2 boys (Brendan, 12 & Bryant, 7) as well as my youngest, Annalynn, aged 1. She doesn’t take too well to strange men (of which I guess I fit that group) so I found over this past year that if I come in to the house singing "Anna" or even "Hey Jude" she instantly smiles, claps her hands and wiggles her shoulders or butt as if she is dancing. Music is the wondferful "communicator" we have between us. But a couple of weeks ago I was trying to communicate that I was "Pop" by patting my chest and pointing to her and saying "Anna". Ever since then whenever she hears the sound "Pop" she pats her chest. We took her all over the place this weekend, baseball games, etc. so she got used to going "bye bye" with us. When my son and daughter-in-law returned we said our gooodbyes and Anna followed us out to the car. As we were pulling away, she was waving "bye bye" and alternately patting her chest, looking at us and looking back at her Mother with a confused and somewhat sad look. I have to tell you this little angel was breaking my heart like I didn’t think it could be broken again. But I must say, when I think of Anna, I know the angels have smiled down on me.
