The Story of a Ninja     Chapter 1: Determination

It all happened one day in Jan. 2, 1945 when I woke up early in the morning in Tokyo, Japan. My mom (whose name was Sakara, Honcho) woke me up saying "Kante I need you to get up immediately and get ready."  I was really puzzled and tired, but then she told me something that woke me up instantly. She said, "Kante, I'm sorry but I heard early this morning that Shino Chori died by the Hadaka Clan!" I was absolutely speechless at the moment; Shino was like a brother to me, it seemed forever to catch my bearings back. (When finally I got back to my senses) I told my mom quietly, "Mother I know you're not going to understand this but I'm going to train so I can get revenge back on the Hadaka Clan!!!" She gasped and said, NO, you are only 15 years old!!!" But then she knew what I had to do.

I started my training early the next morning; I was already training before because I wanted to become a Konoha ninja. Now it even persuaded me even more to train. First I worked on the secret skill that my dad tried to teach me before he died. I had to concentrate really hard where I was going, and then do the 5 hand signs and it unleashed the teleporting fury; finally I mastered the technique in a week. My mom has been watching me train for days and saw the determination I had, that day she asked a friend of hers (that was a man) to train me. I was so overjoyed. I woke up early the next morning to eat breakfast and rush over to his house as soon as possible.

When I got there I walked up through the gate and knocked on the door, then I heard someone say, "I'm in the back". I walked toward the back of the house and saw a man about in his early 30's. He said, "Hi my name is Sakiro Saboto and I'm guessing your name is Kante Honcho" I bowed swiftly because I wanted to show my determination; I noticed that Sakiro and I weren't the only people there. There was a boy about my age and a girl that looked a little younger than me with black hair. Sakiro introduced them to me, the boy about my age was Nenji Natage, and the girl that was not too younger than me was Sakita Nenshi. Sakita gave me a warm welcome, but Nenji just looked at me and smirked. "Well now that that's over it's time for your training, since this is all your first day I will start off by doing physical exercises to get ready for the training tomorrow". It puzzled me why both Sakita and Nenji signed up the same day as I. When I got home my mom had a big smile on her face and asked me how it went. After I explained it to her, she said that she made my favorite dish, and boy was I hungry!

The next day I got there the same time as my classmates. We all walked toward the back and saw no one there. From behind us we heard a familiar voice talking to someone else. It was Sakiro and a lady, "Hi students, I'll like to introduce you too Hataka Bonsho. We all greeted her a warm welcome. Then Sakiro said, "This is going to be your assistant teacher for I don't know everything *smirk*." We started our training by learning the illusion art. In order to perform the skill we had concentrate on an item and do the sign of the horse and the rabbit to change the items appearance. We were working at it all day, finally we all did the illusion art (not perfectly though). We were dismissed for the day; I just remembered what I wanted to ask Nenji and Sakita. I asked them why they wanted to become a ninja. First there was a moment of silence then Sakita explained that her brother was killed in the riot of the Hidaka clan. I also explained why I wanted to become a Konoha ninja. And I was guessing that Nenji's reply was going to be the same as Sakita's and mine, but he said absolutely nothing and walked home silently in the darkness. I walked Sakita home then dashed home to tell mom about my training. I performed the skill for my mom, and man was she surprised! She was grateful that she made the right choice.

For 12 days Sakita, Nenji, and I have been practicing the illusion art technique. Nenji was the first one of us to master it. I was surprised of his determination to complete the Illusion art skill. Sakita and I finally mastered the move the next day. Then Sakiro said, "Since Nenji, Sakita, and you mastered the skill I'm going to give you a test tomorrow. If all of you pass then you will be able to move up to the next ninja rank (Jounin)."  I had complete confidence that I was going to complete this task! I went home that day and practiced really hard, until I was sure that I will pass the test. Of course I didn't know what the test was going to be about yet. But all I knew was that the technique that my dad taught me will be coming in handy.

The next day Sakita, Nenji, and I met at the road, when suddenly we saw Sakiro walking toward us. He said, "Hello students, the test will not be held at my house." Puzzled, we all walked with him toward the opposite direction. I wanted to ask him what the test was going to be about, but before I could ask he said, "Today students this test is going to be about teamwork if you all past the test then you will be able to pass the test to the next ninja rank, but if you don't you are going to have to learn all the basics over again." We were all silent for a moment. Then we looked at each other with determination. We finally got to our destination, but I wondered why he chose a spot that had a river, several

trees, and a grassy area.

When we got there I saw a familiar figure in the grass... it was our assistant teacher Hataka Bonsho! We all greeted are assistant teacher, I was thinking what this test was going to be about, and I'm sure Sakita and Nenji were wondering that too. Sakiro started speaking, "Now Hataka and I are going to test you on your teamwork and different abilities and if you don't pass this test you are going to have to learn all the basics over. Now what I want you to do is to try and land 2 hits on me. Now Hataka is going to be watching and if any of you try to hit me by yourself you will fail the test. It is up too you guys to see how you are going to do this. Okay, you have one and a half hour to land 2 hits on me each. Hataka will tell you when to start, oh yeah you are going to have to find me first.

We watched as are Teacher rushed away. We all were going over what we were going to do. Sakita was the weakest person but the smartest so Nenji and I decided we'll let here strategize. Now she decided that she was going to be the first one to lay the two hits on Sakiro first, because he would expect the hit first from me or Nenji first. So I was going to be the first person too distract Sakiro, then Nenji, and then Sakita will go in for the hit. Suddenly we heard a whistle blow and someone say START!!! We darted off across     the trees together towards the direction that Instructor Sakiro went. And Hataka was following behind.

We were going to do what was according to plan, but first we had to find him. Nenji said, "Wait, ALL-SEEN EYE!!!" I was surprised his eye can see what the normal I can't see! He spotted Instructor Sakiro. And we darted towards him. Sakiro started to dart away so we decided then Nenji and I will go around and Sakita will continue to go straight

Okay BREAK!!!! We all spitted up in different directions. I could only see a glimpse of Instructor Sakiro, I also saw Sakita almost caught up too Instructor Sakiro, and that will give just enough time for Nenji and I to appear from both sides. Then his eyes will be on us then Sakita will take the hit. He'll also be a little easy on Sakita. The plan is perfect!

Suddenly Instructor Sakiro appeared right behind me! "Nice plan you have their, he said"

I was so surprised! The only way I can get him is by… USING MY SECRET SKILL!!!

But he is behind me so that is going to cause problems. Then I started of heading towards Sakita and Nenji. When I saw Sakiro already there! And he was still behind me. "How do you like it, it's called the Shadow Division Art. I'll teach it too you." he said. I wanted to learn that move, but I couldn't let that break my concentration. If only I could tell which one is the real Sakiro... THAT'S IT!!! If they are duplicates then that must mean that the real Sakiro is still hiding to conserve his energy. I yelled too Nenji, "Use your ALL-SEEN EYE!!!" He understood and pointed where he saw the real Sakiro. I spotted him and used my TELEPORTING FURY! I came right up behind him. Then he darted forward, and then Sakita jumped out of no where and laid the 2 hits.

  Hataka said, "TIME-OUT!!!" Sakiro was in the center of me Nenji and Sakita. Sakiro said, "Well done, Nenji and Kante those are really good techniques you have and for Sakita that was a really good strategy.  I know why you didn't hit me Kante, because what I said if all of you don't work together then you will have to re-learn everything. Now, all of you are JOUNINS!!! So that means you are my solid pupils and I'm your solid Instructor. You all did very well, instead of beating the test in 1hr. and 30 min. You beat it in 30 min. It is quiet an honor to have you guys as my student. Well I'll see you all tomorrow." I was so proud of myself and I'm sure Nenji and Sakita were too. We accomplished are task with teamwork and determination.
