We've now uploaded four of the songs (in HQ) on YouTube from the OUR BBQ COULD BE YOUR LIFE show.

Mascara

On the Way

Ground Zero

White Noise / Something [Butthole Surfers cover]

By the way.. the top three are brand new songs that we're recording for the second album before the year is out. They're a bit more... fuzzy.

The Buttholes cover video has been getting a lot of plays this week.. probably because the thumbnail is of Simon's scary mask! Hopefully he tops that at the October 22nd show that's coming up. Make sure you get down to it and support us.. we're putting on the night and picked the bands that are playing. It's going to be brilliant!

The lovely Tom Robinson will be playing one of our "classic" tracks this weekend on Introducing... We're thrilled to bits! Schedule and tracklisting is below.. I AM VEXED is also going to be featured.. we played with them in June and they were rather good. Marvellous, innit?

Of course if you heard the show and are reading this blog now, you can download THE LANGUAGE OF GHOSTS from archive.org (or by clicking on the AMY BLUE EP sleeve on the main page). It's absolutely free!

WHITE NOISE/SOMETHING

Post comments, add it to your faves and let people know about 'em! :)

Also, are you psyched about the October 22nd halloween mash-up show? See you there.

Current mood:  argumentative
A while since I (was allowed to) rant freestyle but i wanted to say something about the recent james murdoch lecture at the edinburgh festival of alleged culture and what these odious pricks call "content". The esteemed writier mr charlie brooker put his writing gonads on the line by breaking rank with tis amazing article:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture/2009/sep/05/charlie-brooker-on-james-murdoch

which mostly encompasses what I think about the whole thing, the BBC is one of the few things I am proud of in this bloody awful country, it's a love-hate relationship but there's more than enough things I am happy to have my licence fee go towards. The idea of news being a commodity is a sickening and how deluded is murdoch to suggest that objective reporting can be linked to revenue? There was a great program on C4 years ago called drop the dead donkey that was about news satire (it was written and filmed within a week, like south park, so it was mostly up to date on current events) and one epiode featured a war reporter strategically placing a burnt teddy bear in all of his photos to add, what is it, pathos? gravitas? God forbid it becomes fact... I can't help but compare his comments to trent reznor admitting that the objective of selling music was a dying, depressing for considering we just relased our first album but at least Reznor realises that people will pay for what they really want and take the rest and no amount of key note lectures or guilt is going to change that. From our point of view I guess it means we have to make something that you feel the need to buy rather than throwing our toys out of the pram if people try and don't buy.

And it is good, reviews up here:

Rant over, our good fried Thomas posted some lovely ACTION CONTENT, er sorry, pics of our eventful Windmill show over on his blog, one for sampling, thanks sir!

note the strategically placed monkeys for added gravitas. We play with Plus again on the 22nd october, blank that shit out in your diary, you are coming! You feel the need to!!!!

We're archiving all of our reviews for 'The Fortress & The Fatalist' and live shows over at our big mommy site TWIFr. Bookmark it for fun and frolics! Don't worry, it's safe. There's only a little bit of swearing on it.

WILDEYEMUSIC's fantastic review of us @ The 'OUR BAND COULD BBQ YOUR LIFE' weekender: CLICK ME

RICHARD WINK's gracious review of 'TF&TF': CLICK ME

CHRIS TAPLEY's review of the album (he was less impressed!): CLICK ME

DiS's own Lyle provides this nice French review, though he's not a fan of 'Speak of the Devil' (boo!): CLICK ME

Our verdict of the BBQ show... well, I'll let Simon post on that one for a change, since he's been neglecting his blogging duties as of late. Needless to say, the soft toys into the audience and the scary-as-fack face mask at the end certainly perked the audience up as we brutalised the Butthole Surfer's noizfest 'Something'. Good times.

After much faff, we've moved the PayPal link from the MySpace page over to our TWIFR homepage instead. It works perfectly now, so if you're planning on ordering a copy of the CD edition of the album, that's the way to do it!

25 tickets left for the BBQ show as well :)

Only 33 left as we speak. These will be gone soon (probably because of the grub aspect), so you will need to buy buy buy ASAP!

We're all very excited about this show.. it's going to be scarily loud.

We're going to playing on the Sunday of this AMAZING two day mini-festival at the Brixton Windmill in stinky old Lahndaan taaahn on SUNDAY 9th AUGUST.

http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=99680228493

The event has already been set up, so head on over to FaceFart and click YAY, MAYBE or NAY.

I've also been advised that it's selling out really fast so you should buy your tickets online rather than on the day as you may not get in. The BBQ is FREE FREE FREE, and starts at 5.30pm and ends when they've run out. They do a full meat platter and veggie options.

6 bands + free food + an AMY BLUE set for £5.50. You can't go wrong! We are performing as the BUTTHOLE SURFERS so expect the most awful racket known to man. You can shout BUTTHOLES at us if it makes you feel better.

If you've not bought a copy of THE FORTRESS & THE FATALIST we'll be flaunting it like Soho whores on the day. Bring £5 for it, or you're getting NOWT.
