Current mood:  productive

With the first shoot of "Dylan's Tree" behind us, it's time to get into the meat of the film. This weekend some of the crew met in preparation for the next shoots on "Dylan's Tree." Director Lance Reha and Mike, our DP went over the sets and began to plan out the shots and how to effectively light the scenes. Once at the sets, they walked around and looked at every possible angle for what will work best. The two of them have some very creative ideas for how this film will look. They figure that this movie will require three days of shooting...three days which all are eager to get started.

Pedro, our FX man treked out to Staten Island for the day and brought his newest creations to show us. Of course, the guy did an excellent job so far and has some cool ideas for the other effects that will be needed in this movie as well. But you'll see those soon enough.

Frank Dudley and writer Chris Mancuso were also in attendance to lend a hand and add some input as well.

With the technical aspects ready, now it's on to the actual shooting of the scenes. All of us are looking forward to seeing the actors breathe life into the characters and help make "Dylan's Tree" the best Lake Films production to date.

More to come...

Well, Dylan's Tree started production right before the holidays, actually 1 day before Christmas Eve, we were out there breaking ground. And, I'm glad we did. We got some fantastic footage. My DP Michael did an excellent job getting beautiful images on the beach (Which is hard to expose). And my actors were right on their marks. Now that the holidays are gone for this year, its time to get back to production! This story was originally written by my brother Jason while in college. He got great praise from his Professor on the story. Years later I decided to adapt it into a screenplay in which Chris Mancuso did a fantastic job, keeping to the original story and putting things into the screenplay that I wanted to see. This marks Lake Films' first official SAG film in which we'll be using Frank ALbanese, 'Uncle Pat' from the HBO series "The Soprano's." Stay tuned...
