Copies of English Sun were delivered to Noisy Records the day after the KC Playback event. However, on closer inspection it was discovered that a number of these were faulty and had to be returned for re-pressing/re-packaging. It's hoped that new copies will be delivered by the end of this week, then all the official release details can be put out. In the meantime, there are copies available which are alright. DC sent some more of these to AK. Are the problems surrounding English Sun indicative of the problems surrounding England in general at this moment in time, one wonders?

On Tuesday DC and AK were invited to the King Crimson Playback event at Air Studios in London. Robert Fripp and Steven Wilson introduced the music to be played (the 5.1 versions of In the Court of the Crimson King, Lizard, Red and a preliminary hearing of Larks' Tongues in Aspic Pt 1). The small audience of around twenty five were treated to some stunning music. AK felt the 5.1 brought out every last nuance of the music and The Battle of Glass Tears, from Lizard, Larks' 1 and In the Court of the Crimson King stood out. It was like being in the studio with the band. DC and AK had a photo taken with Peter Sinfield who has made an invaluable contribution to the English Sun album. It was also good to talk with Michael Giles, Jakko Jaczsyk, Sid Smith, Mel Collins, Robert Fripp, David Singleton, Richard Williams and many others. Good news was conveyed re the RF Orchscapes as well. At the same time DC brought copies of the newly released English Sun for AK, who played it on the train on the return journey. It sounds terrific!

All being well, the Cross and Keeling English Sun album should be released tomorrow (Monday 5th October). There have been one or two problems surrounding the actual delivery of the album to Noisy Records. Apologies to everyone who has been waiting patiently for this. It's available online at www.noisy.co.uk AK also phoned DC yesterday to talk about the King Crimson album, Larks' Tongues in Aspic. AK is writing a new Musical Guide about the album (to follow the Musical Guide on In the Court of the Crimson King [Spaceward Publications www.inthecourt.ukf.net www.burningshed.com ), and DC wanted to make a couple of points about the text. DC's input will make the book altogether more rounded and certainly more accurate.

C&K delivered their Research Paper at London Met on Thursday evening. The following day, the duo went to Great Missenden and performed/led an improvisation workshop at the Business and Management College there (part of the University of Buckinghamshire). This was successful in a number of ways. The English Sun album should have been available but instead will be available from this coming week onwards. It arrives back from the manufacturers on Wednesday. For further information please go to: www.noisy.co.uk
