So as you know we have been busy writing new stuff over the last couple of weeks. Last night chris brought the lyrics that he wrote to practice last night and now the songs are reall starting to come together. We've almost finished 2 of the songs properly and chris is working on the lyrics that i've wrote for the other 2 tracks that we have. We've got a break this week cos its marky's birthday and he's going camping (???) So hopefully next time we'll be able to get them recorded at the studio for you good folks to have a listen to.

P.S you like the new artwork????

So as of sunday night three new tunes were finished off and just need the lyrics put to them. Once these are polished off we'll begin writing some more. We're hoping to have around 12 songs ready for march when we are planning on hitting the studio again for the 1st time in what will be 4 years. Really doesnt seem that long ago that we laid waste to chime studios for that fatefull weekend. Once we get the recording out the way, we will be lookin to set up a launch night. It will either be in Glasgow or Oban (Oban crowds are always great). More details will be posted when we sort everything out.

So we had a practice last night after missing last weeks cos Cree had food poisoning (some dodgy chicken wings we think). It never went according to plan so to speak... I never got there till 7 cos I got held up at work and just missed the train (it left just as i got into the station), 1 song in chris snapped his E string and never had a spare, so had to ask the guy at the studio. He never had any spare either, but he did have an old bass that we could take the strings off of. Turns out the bass sounded crap cos someone had put 2 A strings o it instead of a E, so we had to make do with that. Started the same song again and Marky burst a string as well. All that need to happen was for cree to burst a drum skin or a snap a stick. Thankfully that never happened and we managed to run through the new stuff and have almost finished piecing togother the 3rd new tune.

Next week we are in berkeley so we should be able to get some kind of rough recording done there so we can remember the structures and get started putting the lyrics to them.

Today was our second practice as a full, and things are starting to come along nicely. we have just about finished 2 new tunes, just need to put lyrics to them, and with the 4 we have already, we're almost at a half hour set. gonna keep writing over the next few weeks and see what happens. all in all we should be gigging again soon. cant wait to get the new stuff out and recorded. gonna wait till we have about 12 tracks before we hit the studio.

So more changes a foot wi the line up. it would seem russell has dissapeared off the face of the planet and wont reply on msn or answer his phone. bit strange that. but here's the twist... THE CREE HAS RETURNED!!!!

I was talkin to him on msn last week and he wanted to know if he could come for a jam again after i told him the siituation wi russ. Funnily enough, me, chris and merrky were talkin about that at practice the day before cos russ didnt show. So here we are again. the 3 original skuds are back together again and are lookin to get this show on the road.

Does anyone know where russell is? we aint been able to get a hold of him since tuesday and he missed practice today. if anyone has any info, it would be awesome.

We were supposed to have a practice tonight, but Russ's boss seems to be in a whole pile of poo wi the law and he's being interviewed by the cops about it. So its re-scheduled for this sunday. Chris has written a new song and it gives me some time to work on the new ska song we've been writing. Keep ya posted on how that goes.

We're also looking to get some more gigs, so if you need someone for any gigs in scotland, give us a shout.

So today was merrkys first practice wi us. It went pretty well and we've started writing again. Ahh feels good to be back. Everything sounds much stronger with a second guitar and we're gonna have 3 vocals to work wi as well. The new tune we've started is another ska song. Dont worry, it wont be called "another ska song" though, or will it???? just need to get started on the lyrics... need some inspiration.... Chris Help!!!

So aye, Tuts last night. It was a pretty good show considering we had only been together for 3 weeks. Could have been a helluva lot worse, but the crowd seemed to enjoy it anyway. The Zips kept it old school and were damn good. Sonic Boom Six rocked to whole place to its foundations.

Was great to be back on stage after 2 years, and once we get some new tunes, we should hopefully get back out on the road again, maybe even back up to Oban (love that place).

But anyway, thanks to tuts for putting us on, sonic boom 6 for letting us borrow their gear, the zips for being good guys and to everyone who thought it was a better idea to come and see 3 small bands instead of going to fuckin U2 or watch the footie.

Should hopefully get the photos and some video up this weekend.
