Reminder about Friday, May 8, at the Court Tavern in the illustrious New Brunswick, NJ. It's the first weekend after classes are done at Rutgers so there should be parties spilling out into the streets regardless if it rains. Also it'll be our first show being joined by Mallory Leonard (ex-Starfish HQ) and Cass McGrath (Rapid Cities, ex-Starfish HQ). Show starts at 9pm. We go on around 10pm. Bring it!

Our next show is coming up this Friday, April 3, and we're psyched to be playing with our good friends People in Charge for their record release show. Also playing are Dewey Decimal And The System, Charlene, The Delfields, and Insouciant. Our spring break/album release tour went really well. Expect some video and pics soon. I gotta sort through alotta stuff. HUGE thanks to everyone who helped us out with the shows, everyone we met and all the bands we played with. We're already excited to get back on the road this summer. We'll start booking pretty soon.

And finally, our friends Erin Foster and Emilee Ramsier were gracious enough to spend a day working hard trying to take photos which would make us look cool - somehow they succeeded brilliantly. We'll have those pics up soon too. They're amazing!

Hey all,

On Sunday, March 1, we played a really fun (really unrehearsed), fully acoustic show in our friends' attic with a bunch of other great bands/artists/friends. Check this link HERE to see who else played at the show. Unfortunately the battery on my computer only had enough juice to record our set or else I'd be posting the whole show. Thanks to John Terry and Kyler George for hosting the show.

Admittedly these songs are a little (or a lot) rough but we had a great time playing so figured we'd share. Glad Hearts - (The making of) Tired Doctor



This video shows the recording of Track 05 off of our first length The Oak and the Acorn, out Mar 21, 2009.

Believe it or not, that is us really tracking it live to a 4-track cassette recorder. For mixing later, the individual tracks were bounced out into ProTools and then we added tons of effects, especially to the singing saw. We had fun with bouncing back and forth with the tape running at different speeds. That's how we got the saw sounding so ghostly. Mixed by the incredibly awesome Chris Moore (TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Yeasayer) at One East Recording in Manhattan.
