Subterranean Show This Wednesday!
We're going to be jamming with Eric Hill on bass this Wednesday night at Wicker Park's Subterranean. I'm really excited to be playing here. Sure, we've played everywhere from Wise Fools Pub, Hoghead McDunna's, Navy Pier to the Double Door, but this is one of my favorite, unique music venues in the city and being as that I've never played there, I'm looking forward to a great night. Always fun when Eric Hill plays with us and since he was one of the original members of my band back during Shooting Ghosts, it's like having an old friend back in town after moving away.
The show at the Sub-T starts at 9PM. The first band is Three in Counting, I've heard them many times as they share a rehearsal room down the hall from ours and they have a really cool groove. Should be a really cool night with at least two bands who have prominent keyboards in the mix! Subterranean is located at 2011 North Avenue (that's the triple intersection of Wicker Park!), Chicago, IL 60647.
Come on out for the show, we'd love to see you!

Having just finished several pretty intense years of performing, recording and putting out the Bring the Angels Down album, I'm looking forward to a little downtime from weekly gigs and deadlines. I've intentionally scheduled a nice little break for myself and the band here at the turn of the seasons.
Our summer club tour this year was great! The shows we performed are shows that we're both proud of and enjoyed, mixing up the unrecorded material with a mix of music from both Shooting Ghosts and Bring the Angels Down was totally cool. A lot of that stuff is on Youtube so feel free to check that out. Our residency at Seamus McGhee's was a lot of fun and doing a monthly, four-hour show kept us on our toes.
But autumn is here and I'm taking a little time off for some personal changes that need some time and energy. I've nearly moved my recording studio back from our rehearsal studio into my own, home-studio and I am looking forward to getting in some time writing, listening and being a fan again for at least little bit; I've several projects on the burners and am working on material for the next BPB album, probably for 2010 release.
I know our bassist (s) Wes Gould, EG McDaniel and Eric Hill are all immersed in solo projects and ongoing performance work. Be sure to check them out! Eric Hill has been doing some great work, just releasing a new CD. EG's gigging with Jimmy Burns and lot's of the Chicago blues cats.
For the past several years, I've had the opportunity to work with Pete Nocito extensively and I can't say enough great stuff about him. He's a great drummer, vocalist and arranger and a good friend on top of all that stuff.
Autumn is a great time of year and I'm looking forward to taking in a little time for myself and my own extended family.
Cheers all! Peaceout, Beazley

This weekend we're playing our last two shows of the summer season!
Friday, September 18th at the Abbey Pub in Chicago; we're going to be joined by our good friend and Shooting Ghosts alumni, Eric Hill. Pete and I are totally psyched at his energy and looking forward to really jamming like we can only do with Mister Hill!
Saturday, September 19th for Seamus McGhee's 4rth year Anniversary Party; we're out in Lemont, celebrating their 4-year anniversary party! We're playing a couple solid sets well into the evening to help Seamus McGhee really get down and celebrate!
Come hang with us and enjoy one of the last, late summer weekends that we're going to get!
Cheers!

Have had a good group of shows, had some great friends, family, listeners from all over coming to our shows; Lexington, Philly, Baltimore and Asheville have been super great.
I did fall off the stage in Philly, injured my forearm a bit, but am healing well with ibuprofen, ice and stretching.
Asheville has been the most memorable show for me as it was great to see so many of my home town friends, my Mom putting a practical army up at her house in Asheville, and my friends Kelly, Tina, Kelly all came to the show; not to mention my sister who lives in Toronto walks in the door just as we were finishing our last song at Garage at Biltmore with her HUGE dog Wrigley and positive energy from Ken who's still recovering in Toronto.
The club brought me up a cold beer, an ashtray and said, keep jamming, so we did! Dave Turner put on a great show and we played a little four-hand piano blues just like Anne Rabson taught me all those years ago and the band stepped in and it was a storm! Chris ran some great sound and a great club; we talked about music as we were striking the stage, the economy, music business, bands and just the usual stuff, cool guy and people should definitely check out his club! "Lager" has been our theme this year out!
I got to hang with my siblings, first time we've all been together in a long while, so we were a posse for a couple days. Totally cool vibing with Matthew, Emma and Misty.
Mom picked up Tourists tickets for us and Pete, Wes, my siblings and my Mom and I all went to see the Asheville Tourists kick butt! Great night.
Today was all about chilling, Wes and I hung with my brother at his pad, Pete, Heather and her Mom checked out the Biltmore.
The new songs we've performed have been well received; could be setting up for a new record.
Tomorrow is a travel day back to the north side of the Mason Dixon, chilling in Philly for Monday then up to New York at Arlene's! This should be a fun show, video taping it so we should have some kicking footage for Youtube!
Signing off for an early night as we leave bright and early tomorrow; but Terry Gage, thanks for coming up! Great to hear the things you had to say, much appreciated and heartfelt! Karma babe, now it's your turn for someone dreaming about rock and roll!
I once heard Stevie Nicks say "You have to play every show, every tour, like it could be your last, give it that kind of energy." We've definitely been doing that!
Peaceout, Bz
